Thanks a lot for that video! A lot of informations! Was climbing 30 years ago didn't had trainer with me. Now teaching my daughter and your tips are gold. Thanks again!
Thank you for your work! However, there's one point I vocally disagree, that is downsizing depends on the brand (especially with modern shoes). I wear madrock tokyo remora in my street size and they fit perfectly after 3 painful sessions of breaking them in. I really cannot imagine myself downsizing 1 size in that pair. TLDR; downsizing shoes depends on the brand
When you say straighten out the upper arm and don't worry about the lower arm, do you mean keeping the line through the shoulder 'straight' and not worrying so much about the bicep action? Focusing on the shoulder pivot but not necessarily the full hang?
Hey Simon, the idea behind the "straight upper arm" is to help beginner climbers understand that climbing with two straight arms is almost impossible because as we move up the wall, the lower arm will need to bend. Instead, focusing on straightening out the upper arm will often save energy and enhance the move's efficiency.
@@mindbodyclimb I'm just unclear what you are referring to as the upper arm? Both the upper arm and lower arm are permanently straight simply because of the skeleton, so I'm just trying to understand if you mean more than that, for example the upper arm and the shoulder girdle combined
@@simonwilliams9850he is referring to the arm that is higher on the wall. If the right arm is higher, it should be straight and the left arm can be bent
Dude, this was too FUN!!
Agreed my dude!! 🤓😄
This is the most American tutorial video I have ever seen! Learned some bits though - thanks.
