Level design genuinely looks good. It's diverse, has different paths, and seems like it requires actual reflexes. This actually seems like these levels might be on the level of Unleashed and Generations
Imo it looks more like what they did on third update of Sonic Frontiers. Not visually, but level design is somewhat similar, but with obvious better visuals than the update.
The fact that gameplay is somewhat similar to cyberspace (for some people its a bad sign but for me is a good sign) also makes this look even more similar to me.
But is far less linear imo to be like Sonic Unleashed and Generations, imo

@@leonardowynnwidodo9704 The first few seconds of the first shadow level pretty much already has a tight turn right there where you homing/teleport attack to 3 enemies and simply go right all the way, or skip it entirely trough a hidden secret way.
This alone is already way less linear than most Unleashed and Generations level design

Iizuka said that they got the original designer for Generations as well as some of the developers who originally worked on the game as well. No wonder this looks heaps and bounds better than Forces/Frontiers cyberspace.

Now imagine playing today's level but still with SA2 rail physics. Awesome playthrough, man.
Those rail physics were insane. The amount of area, space, and flow of movement, you don't see that often any more. Motion to get from one rail to another, you have to be ready to go at any second.
Oh my gosh Shadow talks during the stages that was something forces brought back that I actually liked it helps the game feel more alive😆

As someone who only got to play the 3DS version of Generations and has never actually gotten to play as Shadow outside of Forces... THIS GAME IS JUST HYPE ALL AROUND FOR ME
If possible play sonic adventure 2, youd love it. I still have my digital one from xbox 360, can play it on my one and series X

I'm honestly glad that Shadow and his stages seem to feel different than Sonic's (at least from looking at the gameplay). Using Shadow's chaos control in order to make new platforms is honestly a smart gameplay mechanic and if Shadow gets new chaos abilities in his skill tree, they might be able to finally make Shadow feel like his own fully fleshed character (gameplay wise I mean) and not just a clone of Sonic in terms of gameplay

I just noticed that in the second phase of the Biolizard fight, his head tracks you. He is always looking in shadows direction!

Honestly I wouldn’t be mad if they turned it into a sort of thing where going forward shadow gameplay was “frontiers-like” but with the abilities he has, while sonic gameplay was more similar to unleashed/gens. Obviously we’ll all have to try it out but it would be an interesting way to differentiate Sonic vs shadow gameplay in the future and not just for this game.
All depends on how shadow feels to control but was just an idea I had.
I think the opposite should happen sonic keeps frontier gameplay while shadow gets unleashed gameplay

I know that there are " book tokens " in the shadow level but how many, because I have a theory that they give you an in game version of the book you get by pre ordering the physical release. Which if true means we can do basic maths of, 28 divided by the average amount of tokens = the amount of shadow levels
If there are only one book token per level, then I would say the amount of new levels is still unknown because I doubt they would add 28 new levels

So it does look like cyberspace gameplay. That being said, they took everything from Frontiers I could critique and seemingly improved on it. It's like what I wished cyberspace was like while playing Frontiers. I can't wait, this franchisee is going in a great direction. Also OH MY GOD those cutscenes are so cool

This is like the best gameplay I've seen from Shadow's campaign. You really locked tf in
Alternate pathways, diverse level layouts, it’s looking pretty good. All I honestly need now is levels using slide, stomp, and more unleashed and gens level gimmicks like the qte cannons, timed pole jump, and I’m officially sold🥹 👍
I also agree its weird the slide has rarely been needed in recent games not even a big one like frontiers

I finally figured it out, Its The Ark, not even a remix its just straight up the song from Shadow 05

The level theme for the ark level is a remix of final rush. It was shown by choctopus on his channel.
@@Pulsarr Chiming in here, the direct capture gameplay I watched did use The Ark from Shadow 05, just remastered. The Ark itself is a remix of Final Rush.

In Choctopus’ new video they use a completely new remix of final chase for the Ark level and the Biolizard. it seems that it was just placeholder music used in the video

@@leonardowynnwidodo9704 Yes sir modern sonic is also gonna have the drop dash and the controls are the same as for frontiers but if you dont like them you can switch to the legacy controls that are the same as the Original Generations

@@leonardowynnwidodo9704 look at fadel's video on 10 things he discovered while playing Sonic X Shadow Generations and it turns out that the drop dash for modern sonic is press the jump button and hold it the 3rd time just like Sonic Frontier's Drop Dash
What I like about the gameplay that was presented, is that there are in-game cutscenes in the Space-Colony and the Biolizard boss fight(well, there a blackscreen for just a few seconds in the Biolizard boss fight but it was an in-game cutscene). 3:49 Take the Space-Colony for example: After going through the Space-Colony section, you enter a cutscene showing Doom's eye, then everything warp into Radical Highway, 4:06 Shadow falling from the abyss and then transitioning back to the gameplay but now your doing the sky-diving portion, and now, your in the Radical Highway section. Unlike Sonic o6(One of my favorite Sonic games), this does not have loading screens to head to the next section of the level. This makes it more cinamatic and keeps you more engaged. [3:49 and 4:06] These parts alone proves that Sonic Team wants to make this game feel like a AAA game. Though not perfect, but a good step in the right direction.

Worth mentioning the original on Steam does have a decade of mod support going for it. There's a chance it will get delisted when this comes out, so it's worth thinking about.
