I love how, even though Maya isn't speaking verbally to her pack, you can still tell EXACTLY what she's saying. She tells the three dogs to get into position to hunt the birds and she scolds Max and puts him in a time-out for being too impetuous and scaring the birds. Then you clearly see the respect and devotion the other dogs have for Maya....letting her have first pick of the birds and then poor Max has to beg for his supper.
Oh my god. It’s like baseball where the coach assigns positions to specific players.
I love how Maya put Max in a time-out. 😄
She didn’t actually put him on timeout, she told him to sit and watch.

I love that kind of film which uses real dogs for casting, however recently it seems there is no more film like that because of laws concerning animals protection, i think.
When i saw the sence in which Maya was bitten by a seadog, i also wondered if she was really injured or not :|

I had a very sweet female Husky mix. She still somehow killed a Chickadee. My current dog, also a Husky mix, saw a crow and from a standing stop jumped up and put his left paw on the top of a six foot fence.
