I haven’t unlocked smoke, gas and impact incendiary yet. I usually go with incendiary grenades on bug missions when defending an area. There’s always someone on your team that brings enough thermites to destroy heavier enemies. Bots it’s impact grenades or thermites. And sometimes i like to mess around and equip stun grenades and have fun
About incendiary The normal one has one big advantge over the impact one Its burn duration is double Acording to a stats sheet impact fire lasts 8 seconds and fuse fire lasts 16 seconds So its better for lighting up bug breaches, also its higher damage is helpful with bugs that already came out of a breach
Also you can throw them at your feet while back tracking and it’ll go off in the middle of the horde. Combine that with the lib concussive to keep them in the flame and your golden
I hate the knife for a different reason. They gave us a warbond that introduced an enhanced melee passive. Then they gave us a knife, and decided that it should be the only weapon in the warbond that you physically cannot melee with.
For me, Gas Grenades used to be A tier. Now that they also destroy enemy spawn locations, they open sealed doors, they're S Tier. Every faction has a ton of little dudes running around trying to bog you down. The Gas Grenade not only halts the attack, but the damage is enough to destroy the weak stuff, leaving the weakened tougher stuff to get finished off while they're shooting into a totally random direction. It's a RARE dive that i don't take them.
Agreed Thermite is the best grenade in the entire game hands down As it ignites it does A LOT of damage even before the explosion 1 shots chargers and impalers to the head 1-2 shots biles 1 shots tanks/hulks no matter where it lands 1 shots most structures including turrets It’s one of the few grenade that can make Command Bunkers a joke you don’t even need to call a Hellbomb just bring an anti tank weapon (if you want only takes a couple to destroy them) and armor with extra grenades and you can destroy them easily It helps you work around stratagem jammers by using grenades instead of Hellbombs and is a replacement for Anti Tank if you are getting bored of it 1 shots harvesters on the leg joints
I will die on the hill that gas grenade should be S tier and it's not even close. Not only does it give a safety screen against bugs or illuminate, but because it has a lingering effect, as long as you place it correctly, one gas grenade can safely kill entire patrols of smaller enemies, while confusing larger ones at the same time.
I personally think that the regular incendiary is better than the impact incendiary due to the fact that it has a longer duration for the ground fire. It's long fuse time also makes it a good "retreat" grenade, meaning you can throw it directly under your feet while you're running away. It's also slightly better at closing bug holes and destroying fabricators. It comes down to preference, really, I just think it's better overall than the impact.
Ever since I unlocked Chemical Agents, the Gas nades have become my main throwable, they're so good for both solo and multiplayer, and I still can't belive they buffed them to be able to destroy spawners, they're game changers
I have to admit I love using Peak Physique with the throwing knives and a stun lance. Not the most effective, and I usually get friendly fired - but it's very enjoyable. My friends and I did Constitutions and melee only for the automatons a few nights ago. We took down a strider doing so, which was a great feeling.

you gotta use the throwing knife with the viper commando armor, it ups the dmg from 250 to 500 and you gotta get headshots with it. I've popped the heads off overseers and devastators with one knife. the silent nature of it comes in handy when going off on your own to get points of interest, In my experience (I've been using the knife ever sense I got it)
I find myself agreeing a lot, but I would put the impact in A, and the following in S: Bugs- gas grenades (enough people bring fire by default it is nice to double up DPS on bug breaches) Bots- Thermite (set and forget is great when it doesn't bounce off) Illuminate- impact fire (only because the gas can't kill the voteless as efficiently)

I think you're right about the impacts. They've been underrated ever since the thermite rework. On the bot front they can two shot the small cannon turrets on bot bases and they can also two shot tanks because the splash damage hits the back vent from a lot of angles. This applies more to shredder tanks than annihilator tanks, but some fancy footwork will get you in position to take them out pretty easily.

Gas nade should be s tier. Combining both stun nade and incendiary. Big upgrade to both mentioned before. Enemies are running in circles while getting damage. Good usage to keep enemy at bay in choke points and defending points. With proper stratagems like supply pack you will never run out of them soon.
GAS is SSSSSS++++++ tier, it can kill ANY small enemie in the game like voteless half the tipe of bugs the saw automatons the small automatons and the walkers, beacuse it hits in their weakpoints perfectly, and the best use is for bug BREACHES one of them singlehandedly controls a superhelldive bugbreach. and the knife is not NORMALY good but for a STEALTH diver it is the best on in the game for ehen they are in close quarters, AND if you are making a spartan/hoplite/melee build it is great because it does double damage with peakphysique.
The thermite and impact are VERY good if you have the grenade pistol/grenade launcher or you just have someone else to blow up spawners. The thermite especially is VERY good at getting rid of bigger units

dont forget the standard incen grenades fire last significantly longer than the impact and i believe does more damage (its how it feels to me, not entirely sure) so i think c isnt deserved but otherwise its good
I’ll have to do more testing but I swore the incendiary impact grenade had a significantly smaller radius and burn time than the standard incendiary grenade.

For me incendiary is S tier, this thing can wipe hord of zombie and bugs and destroy bugs hole and squids ship. 6 grenades with the armor passive its my go to against the squids and bugs.
HARD disagree on the thermites! I think they are one of the weaker grenades because they are a one trick pony that don't even do their one trick all that well. For once, grenades are one of the least expendable weapons you have. You get 2 per resupply, for context the spear, one of the least ammo efficient weapons in the game gets 3 shoots + you have the ability to call down a fresh one every now and then. Yes they can kill hulks and fabricators, but these thinks die to a stern look. Bloody hell, in your broll you had an hmg and a strafing run, both tool that are far better st killing hulks and fabs respectively. Secondly, they take forever to go off. Not only do they have low range because, you know grenade, which means whatever you are throwing it at is already in a situated where it needs to be dead yesterday, it than also takes 3 business days to actually kill whatever it is sticking to. Is really common for a hulk to get sticked and then they die halfway to the detonation. Don't get me wrong, there are absolutely load outs where they are the right choice, but they are a lot more situational then most players would like to think and most builds would be better of with something else.
I know these are all just an opinion, and you are mainly a bot guy. But really the grenades are really gonna vary depending who you are fighting. If I am fighting illuminate then thermite is D tier, bugs is c tier since I can kill a charger with it but thats all I would use it for, and for bots is S tier because hulks and fabricators. Incendiary and Gas are both S tier against the terminid and voteless hordes, I have gotten 30 plus kills with a single grenade, you won't do that with an impact explosive, or thermite. But as for the frag, yeah B tier for any faction, it does well against all factions but isn't the best for any faction. Smoke, well its niche, for me its D tier against all factions, i just don't use smoke grenades at all. And throwing knives are just trash unless you are trying to purposely make the game harder for yourself, like doing a mission with knives and the constitution only run.

Super heavy units(tanks, factory striders/ harvesters) can see though smoke, but gas debuff works on them on the other hand
they cant, however if the enemy had a queued up attack or they are inside the smoke rather than looking into it, then yeah they can see

I think you may need to make separate lists for faction since the incendiary impacts are s tier in bugs and squids but ass against bots
