the more years go on, i appreciate the character writing of ac3 Connor feels Native American and Haytham feels like a person that was born in London and joined templar's order. People just really got Ezio's trilogy stuck in their heads which is based to this day,but as Odyssey got vomited out by ubisoft,I think AC3 is underrated gem that takes place in very interesting space and timeline as well as combat having it's fresh taste to it. The more im replaying all AC's,the more i appreciate Connor the way he is and that he should not be a Ezio's replacement,but to make a character feel totally different (so that Requiescat in pace will remain the greatest)
I passed "6 Assassins" in one go. it will always remain in my memory, Altair and Ezio and the Kenway family, to me they are equal because each part is unique in its own way. The only thing that I always had a hard time accepting was Desmond's story, which pulled us out of the story as well as him.

The way the writers use this series of missions to hint at the relationship they would’ve had is phenomenal. Haytham testing Connor to see how capable he is, helping fix his suit after Connor grabs it. “Because I said so.” “just do as I ask.” And the constant willingness to discuss ideology, since he hopes his son might be willing to turn.

@TheMegaUzumaki Haytham surely had an explanation as to why he killed Birch. Otherwise his own Order might have hunted him down and of course he must've explained why he did it. How else did Christopher Gist knew his father was an Assassin? Birch's only concern were precursor artifacts and sites. If you've read the book forsaken they have often gotten into arguments on whether or not they should pursue their ideals or things from the past. And of course keeping Haytham from the truth. That he was the one who sent mercenaries to attack his house. So I would say killing him is justified. As for Braddock, Braddock wasn't exactly like Birch in my opinion but he was worse since he became so bloodthirsty. And Haytham did what he had to. After he discovered the truth about his father. And finally getting back on the man that ruined him, what happened next was entirely up to him. What happened in the past didn't matter since he has already made amends. Birch was finally dead. His father avenged. And his sister safe again, even though she kept her distance towards him, for obvious reasons. Yes he lied to his son, but only because he probably knew that he might not believe him since Connor is so convinced that he was siding with right men. We all know what George and his patriots did after the revolution. And he was the one who set Connor's village on fire. Just because you say he used the same methods Birch did doesn't mean his intentions were selfish or cruel.
Just because Haytham became a Templar did not change the fact that he was still a Kenway, the son of Edward Kenway. He possessed the same noble qualities as Edward and even exacted revenge on the man who mentored him, but turned out to be the one who ordered the murder of his father and the abduction of his sister. He wished to unite both Templars and Assassins before giving up because it was basically impossible, an ideal that was later passed down onto his son, however Connor did not wish to give up.
I always find Connor complaining to his father about killing all their captive guards in the game so hilarious. Because first off, how many random redcoats has Connor sent to the shadow realm himself, and bro he is literally an assassin. Haytham is more of an assassin than Connor most times, Altaïr used to do the same thing.
My first playthrough I didn't want to kill Haytham. So much so that I stopped playing it and tried to find ways to avoid killing him for weeks that even turned to months. And when the moment finally had come, I did the deed with a heavy heart.

I really would love a spin-off of Connor and Haytham. Instead of ending with Haytham dying by Connor's hands, just make it a series of how an Assassin and a Templar understand each other. Bloodline and Unity did but those were love story. This would make it more interesting since it's father and son.

I know the Ezio Trilogy gets a lot of the love when it comes to the early, but the Kenway Trilogy (I count Rouge as part of the Trilogy) was probably my favorite story arc in Assasins Crews.
I definitely agree that Rogue is a part of the Kenway story arc I mean it has to be, we see how Haytham and Shay destroyed Achilles' brotherhood and placed him in the state hes in when he meets Connor And it sjows the end of Adewale's story
We should get a AC Rogue prequel- sequel with Haytham as the playable character with AC Origins style gameplay with less rolling cause that looks ' too uncivilised' for Haytham.
You were his partner in Rogue, which was the darkest period in Haytham’s life. It’s only after the events of that game that he rescues his sister and meets Ziio that you see the better man coming through culminating in his rescuing Connor from hanging.

Well, he never said that Lee was a person chosen by the people. He just says that Lee would be the best candidate for the role. The point was that Connor's whole argument was just that "Washington was elected by the people", not that "Washington is a good candidate for the role". So he dismantles why Washington wasn't actually voted by the people and why he favors Lee over Washington. It's as he says. He isn't better than the people that Connor supports with one key difference: He doesn't claim to do it for the sake of the people.

Connor feels Native American and Haytham feels like a person that was born in London and joined templar's order.
People just really got Ezio's trilogy stuck in their heads which is based to this day,but as Odyssey got vomited out by ubisoft,I think AC3 is underrated gem that takes place in very interesting space and timeline as well as combat having it's fresh taste to it.
The more im replaying all AC's,the more i appreciate Connor the way he is and that he should not be a Ezio's replacement,but to make a character feel totally different (so that Requiescat in pace will remain the greatest)
I passed "6 Assassins" in one go. it will always remain in my memory, Altair and Ezio and the Kenway family, to me they are equal because each part is unique in its own way. The only thing that I always had a hard time accepting was Desmond's story, which pulled us out of the story as well as him.

The way the writers use this series of missions to hint at the relationship they would’ve had is phenomenal. Haytham testing Connor to see how capable he is, helping fix his suit after Connor grabs it. “Because I said so.” “just do as I ask.” And the constant willingness to discuss ideology, since he hopes his son might be willing to turn.

Haytham surely had an explanation as to why he killed Birch. Otherwise his own Order might have hunted him down and of course he must've explained why he did it. How else did Christopher Gist knew his father was an Assassin?
Birch's only concern were precursor artifacts and sites. If you've read the book forsaken they have often gotten into arguments on whether or not they should pursue their ideals or things from the past. And of course keeping Haytham from the truth. That he was the one who sent mercenaries to attack his house. So I would say killing him is justified. As for Braddock, Braddock wasn't exactly like Birch in my opinion but he was worse since he became so bloodthirsty. And Haytham did what he had to. After he discovered the truth about his father. And finally getting back on the man that ruined him, what happened next was entirely up to him. What happened in the past didn't matter since he has already made amends. Birch was finally dead. His father avenged. And his sister safe again, even though she kept her distance towards him, for obvious reasons. Yes he lied to his son, but only because he probably knew that he might not believe him since Connor is so convinced that he was siding with right men. We all know what George and his patriots did after the revolution. And he was the one who set Connor's village on fire. Just because you say he used the same methods Birch did doesn't mean his intentions were selfish or cruel.

As somebody who loved Edward and loved seeing him have a son whom he loved, having haythan become a Templar truly hurts
Just because Haytham became a Templar did not change the fact that he was still a Kenway, the son of Edward Kenway. He possessed the same noble qualities as Edward and even exacted revenge on the man who mentored him, but turned out to be the one who ordered the murder of his father and the abduction of his sister. He wished to unite both Templars and Assassins before giving up because it was basically impossible, an ideal that was later passed down onto his son, however Connor did not wish to give up.

I always find Connor complaining to his father about killing all their captive guards in the game so hilarious. Because first off, how many random redcoats has Connor sent to the shadow realm himself, and bro he is literally an assassin. Haytham is more of an assassin than Connor most times, Altaïr used to do the same thing.
My first playthrough I didn't want to kill Haytham. So much so that I stopped playing it and tried to find ways to avoid killing him for weeks that even turned to months. And when the moment finally had come, I did the deed with a heavy heart.

I really would love a spin-off of Connor and Haytham. Instead of ending with Haytham dying by Connor's hands, just make it a series of how an Assassin and a Templar understand each other. Bloodline and Unity did but those were love story. This would make it more interesting since it's father and son.

Haytham was actually my favorite Templar, mostly because we actually got to know him instead of them just being the shadowy bad guy of the game
and he actually was horriefed to hear what happen to connor's village and his mother.

I love Haytham even more with the german voices enabled. He's voiced by the same guy who voices James Bond in german, so that's a yes from me.
I know the Ezio Trilogy gets a lot of the love when it comes to the early, but the Kenway Trilogy (I count Rouge as part of the Trilogy) was probably my favorite story arc in Assasins Crews.

It's why I love the first and 3rd games the best in terms of writing, the Templars aren't just your Saturday morning cartoon villains, they had their reasons to justify their actions.
Templars are not evil their methods are and the way they do things also sometimes they get way to extreme same as the assassin side (Bellek) but I would choose assassin

Haytham's anti-liberty argument between 4:15 and 4:45 falls flat because of double standards:
Between 4:55 and 5:18 he criticizes Washington's group for making a decision on behalf of other people.
However, between 4:46 and 4:54 he praises Lee's group for making a decision on behalf of other people.
Well, he never said that Lee was a person chosen by the people. He just says that Lee would be the best candidate for the role. The point was that Connor's whole argument was just that "Washington was elected by the people", not that "Washington is a good candidate for the role". So he dismantles why Washington wasn't actually voted by the people and why he favors Lee over Washington. It's as he says. He isn't better than the people that Connor supports with one key difference: He doesn't claim to do it for the sake of the people.
Just goes to show how imperfect all people are. That's basically the theme of the series (at least it used to be)
