I have to admit, that is a very nice looking sled! It should be a good trail riding sled.

It turned out better than I thought. I needed to get a sled with reverse and electric start because I am getting older you know, and can't toss around the machines like I used to. Saw this one for sale down by Dayton last spring and picked it up cheap, so we'll see how she preforms this winter. Thanks for watching.

Yea I went through the carbs and chaincase, replaced all drive axle bearings, idler bearings, and general maintenance, so that sled is ready for snow. My '85 Indy Trail is another story, usually I do what you do, shut off the fuel and run the carbs dry, but for some reason I didn't do that this last summer, but fortunately it fired up and runs fine. So with a little TLC and she'll be up and running for the season. I'll get a video of all my sleds running when we get a good snow.

The Polaris cleaned up really nice and with any luck you'll be riding it soon if you get some more snow.

Ken, I'm looking at buying a 99 Polaris touring classic 500 to replace the indy lite. With almost no miles on it . Do you like yours ? Mark

Hi Mark, yea it is a nice cushy riding sled. What I like over the touring sled is, it is not as heavy. I had a '96 XLT touring sled and it rode nice but boy it was heavy, better keep it on the trail, because if you get it stuck it will give you a good workout freeing her up. But the '96 Classic is a sweet ride with all the bells and whistles you'll like it for sure. You might even come on over to the Polaris side.

I still like Polaris I guess I have a soft spot for them since my first brand new sled was an 86 Indy trial and I loved it. My friend had an indy 500 so I know that's a good engine. I'm a little worried about the weight of the touring but my youngest is getting bigger and stronger and I think she can handle the 500 now. It won't be too powerful for her. I've been wanting a two- up so if my wife want's to come we can all go for a ride as a family. The indy lite is showing it's age and will need a new track soon. I also don't feel very comfortable with my daughter riding such a small ,low sled on the big trails way up north . The young guys drive way to fast. I'm thinking the bigger sled will be safer and easier to see. I'm going tomorrow to see it and I think I will bring it home. I'll post a video asap.Mark
