The sound of perfection the flows from Dewar's lungs is astonishing. My first Trower concert was Bridge of Sighs and was completely fixated and mesmerized through the whole show. I'm glade I grew up in the 70's and 80's..

Seen him numerous times. A couple of years ago I took be 24 yo daughter to see him. She is a big Van Halen, guns and roses, fan. On the way home . She says, dad, that was the best guitar playing I have ever heard… I said babe, welcome to true rock!
AMEN, i took some friends to see Trower back in 90-91and 2 of them knew his music and the other 2 did not and i gotta tell ya we enjoyed the shit out of watching these guys be blown away at how great he was, luckily he had Davey Pattison singing who comes close to sounding like James Dewar(rip) God i wish we could have seen him live before he passed, i bet she was blown away by Daydream
I first saw them in 1978 in London england. We happened to be on our highschool grad trip and a few of us went and saw them...1980 in cleveland ohio, 1982 cleveland. 1986-87 akron ohio.. I remember being a 13-14 yo kid at my buddy's house. His mom and dad would be downstairs smoking the weed and one they they put on Bride of Sighs and the rest is history for me...63 yo and listen to Robin almost daily.@@user-ic5fe5jg3x

I saw Robin for the first time 16 days prior this very video, Nov 9, 1977, I was 15, had never heard of him, along for the ride with friends, it blew my mind, changed me forever. The stage set up was same, long row of pedals in front of him, but three stacks of Marshalls instead of two, the volume was indescribable, sublime to feel that kind of power but clarity of tone, witnessing something God like.
Good story...the chording set up for "Bridge of Sighs" was to get the extreme lows out of the guitars and amps of the time. Those amps in the early '70s were loud and nasty even without pedals. It's a sound that people couldn't tolerate anymore I think, but for the time it was overpowering and new.
I cannot tell you just how much I love Robin Trower! James Dewar's voice is so complimentary of the guitar work of Trowers..........and vice versa. They opened for Tull in '76 at the LA Memorial Collesium. Those were the days!
I've been to 16 or 17 Robin Trower shows, they were all great but the first four with James Dewer, you can't describe how good they were, all of Robin''s singers are excellent but no one can compare to James, R.I.P.
Love James Dewar vocals. He was the voice of Robin Trower. Love how much they ate having a blast preforming. Wished he could've continued, but the deteration of his health left him without his gift.
I truly do feel SORRY for anybody who never saw Jim Dewar in his prime back in the day, he was right THERE with anybody from that era, and THAT, is saying a lot as that time produced utter TITANS like FRANKIE MILLER, JACK BRUCE and PAUL RODGERS, yet even now, Jim doesn't seem to get his due unless you truly do know, going all the way to STONE THE CROWS. Those of us who DID see and hear him so many times back then will never forget him, and he was a fine bassist as well, Trower has always attracted top notch players and singers, he's not slowing down now either, just a true TREASURE for us all to enjoy!

Trower looks ultra cool in the yellow/black outfit, the way his body/shoulders move in rhythm, like he and guitar are one in the same. Dynamite comes in small packages, massive💥.
I saw this on tv the night it was broadcast. The tv channel was also broadcast on radio and I recorded it on a 8 track tape long since lost. Good to see and hear this again
My brother loved Trower seen him many times. Thank my stars my late brother had a love for great rock n roll. He let me listen to my first albums that he loved. Been a Trower fan since. I was probably 13 at that time. Big big fan.

Frank Lyn Jimmy was such a great singer. Robin never sounded as good as when Jimmy was singing his R&B voice. Listen to him in "Stone the Crows" his previous group. His voice was fab.
I missed them in September in Chicago in 1977 as I had taken too much of something and was not recovered in time for the show. Aw!!! But I ended up working for MS Records in Morton Grove, Ill and I bought In City Dreams and got the poster for it from Promo dept. I saved enough money to move out to an empty apartment with my stereo, record collection and that poster. No TV so I missed this. Somebody's Calling....yeah.
What a fantastic line-up! Bill and Rusty completely in the pocket, Jimmy working his effortlessly soulful vocals and Robin just having a great time being Robin!
Midnight Special great show I remember around when the good music was created. Wow Robin Trower up there with Jimi, EC, EVH. James Dewar, R.I.P. great vocalist & very good bass player which he wasn't playing in this. Bridge of Sighs is a CD everybody needs to listen too to appreciate this group.

Saw this lineup and show at the Chicago Amphitheater on a school night. The doors got pushed open by people waiting in line out in the cold and everyone rushed in and no one even checked the tickets.The cops threw me up against the wall and searched me twice on the way in. We were down by the bathrooms before the show and some kid tripped coming down the stairs and dropped his bag. My friend picked it up and we rolled a couple monsters.Another friend and I shared binoculars, we each were looking out one lens each, at the same time.At the end someone was throwing M80'S from the top down on people on the floor seats. We went back to South Bend.The next morning, my mom asked what I did the night before and I said "oh nothing" .The 70's were the best concert /music decade of all times. Trower was a big part of it !.Glad I got to be there

Awesome story about the concert, but that person dropping M80s should have been dropped themselves. I remember seeing someone toss M80s at a concert in Saratoga performing arts center, and I never been happier about security grabbing someone before then. I don't know what they're thinking, putting others in danger.
That was just legendary. And as others have said, James Dewar's vocals are the key here. Absolutely stunning musicianship. Funny how guys like SRV got all the credit for doing this gig YEARS after guys like Trower and Frank Marino were doing it.
saw trower at Towson center in Maryland many moons ago. pure class.. happened to do a blue dragon that concert... ultimate concert experience. trower wouldn't jump around all he did was step up when he soloed then would step back and let other band members do there majick... dewar was right on tune..
Wow incredible in so many ways! I just saw Robin in concert a few days ago, sure wish Jimmy could have been onstage with him! Bluebird is one of those songs that brings a tear to my eye... I always thought that Robin's version of Further on up the road is the best one out there too! Of course the combo of his guitar and Jimmy's voice is tough to beat!

Saw Trower with Lorde drumming a few times mid to late 70's at Detroit's Masonic Temple. I remember one show where his pedal board was cutting out, he stopped show to fix it then started song over. Amazing guitarist who always delivered.
I saw Robin Trower in 1980 on the Victims of the Fury tour and he blew the place apart. I always really liked James Dewar, his voice was one of the best he was a good bass player too. Trower liked his 3 piece, I never knew he had toured with his 4 piece with James just singing. Thank you for uploading this.

saw trower at Towson center in Maryland many moons ago. pure class.. happened to do a blue dragon that concert... ultimate concert experience. trower wouldn't jump around all he did was step up when he soloed then would step back and let other band members do there majick... dewar was right on tune..
I was very fortunate to have seen Robin Trower in the fall of "77 " did alot of " Bridge " & " Long Misty " my two favorite albums !

Wow incredible in so many ways! I just saw Robin in concert a few days ago, sure wish Jimmy could have been onstage with him! Bluebird is one of those songs that brings a tear to my eye... I always thought that Robin's version of Further on up the road is the best one out there too! Of course the combo of his guitar and Jimmy's voice is tough to beat!
Robin Trower was my first concert ever! Rick Derringer and the Stillwater Band were the openers New Haven Collisium Collisium! What a memorable show!

Saw Trower with Lorde drumming a few times mid to late 70's at Detroit's Masonic Temple. I remember one show where his pedal board was cutting out, he stopped show to fix it then started song over. Amazing guitarist who always delivered.
Dewar and Hendrix....can chew gum and sing wonderfully at the same time.

I saw Robin Trower in 1980 on the Victims of the Fury tour and he blew the place apart. I always really liked James Dewar, his voice was one of the best he was a good bass player too. Trower liked his 3 piece, I never knew he had toured with his 4 piece with James just singing. Thank you for uploading this.
