Van halen, SRV in the 80's. Robin certainly has his following, but I feel he's so much better than most people think.

Snuck my bothers albums and played Trower for friends. One friend called it "tough music" when he heard Trower. "Man, that's tough music, the guitar playing is far out. (yeah we were children of the 60's) Not many years later at 16 years old I found myself at Winterland in San Francisco at a Robin Tower concert, totally grooving on "tough music" I have all of Robin's albums from my brothers collection. (vinyl, look it up kids lol) My brother has since passed, but I will crank up some Trower to "11" for my brother, wherever he may be listening.
Bass player (I'm sorry, I have now forgotten his name, again) was such a valuable asset to the team. The tragedy that he passed away due to a chronic illness. Great hand coordination and voice. Never to be replaced.

Saw Robin at Gilligan's in Modesto, California in 1993(?) they were great! I stood right in front of him 5 feet away, stage was only 3 feet high. Totally great!!!
2025 here. As I have come to understand it, the guitar face seems to be a universal thing when the musician is feeling everything that he is playing, it is beyond language and understanding. The best way that I have heard it described is that your crown chakra, and the throat chakra are wide open like the throttle on a top fuel dragster. That information is flowing through him from somewhere beyond the universe, and out of his fingers. Brilliant performance!!!

I saw this band as they were then in 1980 at the Liverpool empire theatre England . I still think this was the best gig I’ve ever been and seen. They were superb! My first concert. : Pablo Cruise, Journey, Robin Trower - We were 16. Winterland was an epic concert hall. The whole scene was a mind bender for a guitar kid wannabe and adults alike. I blew through 2 or 3 copies of Bridge of Sighs learning every note including this song. We had no tab, no internet. We had vinyl and the will to use our ear to suck every note out that was possible.
Was fortunate to see Robin one week before this winterland show at the selland arena fresno ca...literally hung on to the stage right in front of Robin and have a good pic to prove it, Lol...Man those were the days.

The best index finger vibrato. That is super heavy to achieve. Jimi, Robin,SRV had that. Ring finger as well but many get that.
