Thank you for walking us through this. The only thing I would add is (when reassembling) to check that the holes for the 3 longest screws align at the top & bottom of the circular unit. Mine were just off by 1 "notch" so everything sat together well, but when I got to those last 3 screws I had to disassemble everything again 😫 to readjust that. Obviously my mistake, but there's always the rewind option 🤷♀️🤦♀️
Use vinegar to loosen the impeller... a few drops on the screw area... let sit 10 mins.... tap lightly on top and sides with hammer.... it comes right off.

Yeah, this doesn't apply to a Quietseries 200. There are no screws left, and lifting the "flow plate" brings the whole motor out. Nearly crapped myself when face to face with all those wires and a hidden puddle of water in the bottom.
yes it does. I have a Quietseries... pour some vinegar into the screw hole of the flow plate cap.. let it sit for a few minutes.. comes out like a charm!

Noises are always tricky, depending on the type of noise it may just be some harder food particles in around the pump impellers. If your getting more of a screeching sound then its possible the motor bearing is starting to fail. Spray arms when not running may in some cases be able to tip up and down but once the pump pressurizes them with water they lift and spin and usually don't touch any other component. Hope this information is of some help.
My Maytag QuietSeries 100 leaves black crumbs on the cups in the top drawer. I can't figure out where from, and if there is supposed to be another filter than the base plate. I took apart the whole in-case pipe system, and did what is shown here, saw nothing wrong and put it back together. It wasn't even dirty. It seems that nothing filters smaller dirt and it gets projected back on the cups, does anyone have a clue on how to solve this issue?
I can't get the 6 screwholes to line up 🤬 it doesn't make any sense because the other 3 bigger screwholes are lined up but there is nothing for the 6 20 torx bit screws to go into.
If it's not broken but dishes aren't cleaning well, what do you clean? That's what I wanted to know. Will watch another video that tells me what to check and how to clean, if that's all that's needed.

Good video, but quite possibly the dumbest and most time consuming filter clean/ change I've seen for a dishwasher. The engineers of this stuff should be beat in the public square
We are having the same problem as Realbhatia - impeller will not come out no matter how hard we try. Other than breaking it, is there a solution to this? All of the videos make it looks so easy, but we have tried everything and cannot get it out.
Hi, the reason you would need to replace the accumulator filter is because the water is not draining out of the dishwasher or your dishes are not being cleaned due to the filter being clogged. The filter is essential in your dishes getting clean during the wash cycle. If there is any debris or a tear in the filter, it can cause extra buildup and, therefore, causing dirty dishes.
Hi!. THANK YOU for making this job look so easy for a budding do-it-yourselfer like me. I tried doing this on my 12 year old Maytag dishwasher (same model). At 2:30, I tried my best to remove the "impeller" and it would not come out. I even tried putting WD20 and leaving it overnight but to no avail. Then I tried using two flat screw drivers tried it lift it from bottom but again it would not come out; the bottom part just broke. Ultimately had no other alternative to break it open. Even then it took me more than 15 minutes and multiple doses of WD40 to remove all the remnants of impeller. I am just curious, what else could I have done?
Folks: if you come across the same problem that I described above, this is what I did. I broke the "impeller" as mentioned above and ordered a new one (available from a very famous store --name starts with "S"--for 10.94+Tax+6.99 shipping.) Installed it after pushing and tapping it. Once in there, you cannot take it out. I think I should have used WD20 before installing it to make the process easy. THANK YOU FIXIT.COM for giving me confidence to do it myself.
All you had to do was add a few tablespoons of vinegar (Coca Cola should work the same way) into the screw hole. Let it sit for about 20 mins, and the impeller comes off easily.
I would not recommend a Maytag Quiet 200 series to anyone.... it's crazy... you have to disassemble the whole dishwasher to get at the filter.... to clean it? Looks like it is done deliberately this way so that we have to call a repairman to clean the filter every 2 months.... and another thing.... in the drying period the dishwasher makes a crazy noise, like it is coming appart... the last time I called a repairman he told us it is something to do with the carbons touching each other? chinese to me... so much for QUIET.... so, definetely I would not purchase another Maytag... this one is the second purchase for me...still don't know why I did this!

It took me 3 days to finish it because I have back problems.. but worth it.. However, I may only do this 1 a year.. sorry too much work and pain lol

always remember to unplug the appliance.. those wires would be dead then.
Mine is not draining would this be the problem?? Can I just take it out n clean it n put it back in??
So the filter cover lines don’t line up with the bottom screw holes below fastened to the washer so how am I to screw it back together?
If the accumulator filter is undamaged can you just soft scrub it w a soft brush and replace?

This is identical to my Amana 2 dishwasher. Not sure if they are a co-brand...
Maytag and Amana are owned by Whirlpool.

remove the attached plastic piece that runs the water to the top portion of the dishwasher
try using white vinegar to break off the gunk.
"It's easy" .... 15 screws later.....
Why would you even replace this? Do they break easily? Get clogged? What's it main malfunction?

My has 3 tears... so it does get damaged so how.
