I built Castti as a tank, with Warrior job: the idea is to have enemies hit her to gain access to her latent power more frequently - I just can't stand to use items for her ability, especially in early game, so this works for me. Definitely not the best way to play her, but to be able to face tank everything then using free concoction to reset and buff is hilarious
I have a very similar strategy with my team setup as well. Typically 1 DPS for huge damage when shields are down / 1 backup DPS for breaking shields / 1 healer / and 1 support or "flex pick" (which like you said is very vague) but it's basically whatever I need at the time for that area or boss fight or even someone rotated in for leveling up.
Generally agree overall. I think Holistically for RPGs is that the party size determines how specialized a character could be in any given build. In FF7 with your three party members, you can't have Cloud just ignore any support magic even if he's your biggest DPS since there are only two other memeber in the party therefore you have to place a minimum amount of resouces into his healing/support. FFX basically gives you your entire team of 7 to work with so you can Auron only take Atk spheres, while Yuna can purposfully ignore them.
Thank you for this bro apart from star ocean till the end of time the ff remake this is one of my first Jrpgs so this and all your videos have been super helpful like unbelievably so haha love your content bro keep it up
Another benefit of the team you show is that they can do all 4 path actions both day and night. Those four and the opposite 4 are the only teams able to do that.
I have run Hikari/Partitio/drug dealer as my core the entire game. The last slot doesn't really matter since those three are so ridiculously strong. Sadly I think Throne despite a strong power is the worst option
@@purplatypus7405 I play her as a Merchant, to abuse her double action on turn one to provide BP or debuff the enemies. The fact that she is fast helps as well for that matter

i have a genuine question : do you think there are a lack of bosses or optional dungeon in OT2 compared to OT1? because i feel like there are lack them. what's your opinion?
@@Sanji2789speak for yourself sweatlord most bosses were pretty average but the final boss and some other chapter 4 bosses were annoyingly difficult IMO

Sorry if my english is a bit off.
General rule is: 1 warrior (to taunt) 1 healer (priest is best) 1 merchant support (to give bp) 1 magic dealer You should build your class with secondary job that benefits stats for primaly. So hunter warrior / warrior armsmaster / Priest schoolar as example Warrior/Mage is garbage, but Warrior/Conjurer works if you put a right gear, as you pretty much turn them into a runemaster from older game. So yeah, gear also matters when it comes to stats. You can also abuse gear to deal even more damage with talents that let you survive with 1 hp.
Hey man. Loving your content about OCTPT2, something that drives me crazy since the first game is whats the optimal way to use the stat nuts. Should I cover a character weakness or should I aim in maximize their strenghts? Can you make a video about it pls 🙏
In Octopath, never, EVER try to make a character a jack of all trades. Each character (except Partitio, Agnea, and Castti. They can do virtually whatever.) Damage per turn is the name of the game, so if you have a character like Hikari, who is a damage dealer and Agnea who is a support character, don't try to make Hikari a better support character and Agnea a better Attacker to round them out. Try to let each character focus on their strengths. In conclusion, use the nuts on Characters who specialize in that stats. Don't give Elemental Attack up nuts to Hikari, give them to Osvald. Don't give Evasion up nuts to Temenos, rather give them to Throné instead.
@[PRDGL] WindyBW Respectfully disagree. I had no issue 100%ing the game giving all nuts (except Magic) to Hikari. The skills other characters have and the equipped skills and abilities the others have cover the gap. I gave 0 nuts to Castii, but with the right equipment she defends fine and fully heals everyone. I gave 0 nuts to Partitio and he HAS broken abilities allowing him to summon attackers instead of him dealing damage. Gave 0 to Thronè, but her abilities attacking twice, and giving her good attacking equipment make her fine. Etc, etc. Not to mention abilities like Step Ahead, Partitio basically robbing enemies of their turn, Osvald being a monster dmg dealer, you really can play this way.
Thanks for all your vids, really a good source of info in playing the game. Also I've been roaming around just to gather resources and gain level. Now I wanna continue with the chapters but I can't trigger it. I keep going to the town for each particular character but nothing happens. Can anyone help please. Thanks
I got a "game over" 2 times so far over the past 63 hours I have played. Breaking all bosses first turn. Still need to try out the other characters in the game, only got the 4 atm. My setup is Throné as Hunter - to get more arrows out Ochette as Armsmaster - With all summons that can hit 2 times with mele dmg. Castti as Cleric - as the support and only healer and fully heals my team with just 1BP Hikari as Inventor - For the catapult
