    I'm glad you pointed out that the Switch was a good console for beginners to try repairing. I'm new to repairing and decided to start by fixing switches recently and wasn't sure what to think as a beginner. Love your switch repair videos; they are really helpful!

    Love watching all your videos regardless of what’s being repaired. Still waiting for some oled switch repair content. Wanna hear your opinions of the build quality and or repairability of Nintendo’s update to the switch oled, since you’ve been working on switches for a long time. I think your take on it would hold so much more value

    @TheCod3r, can you spread the knowledge for how to remake your genius test cable? I pulled the battery-boards from both a Lite and V1 battery and neither seem to able to boot known-working Switchs. I soldered my bench wires to the 2 main pads for - + on the B-board with 4.2V/1A being supplied.

      I get the same mate ? Did you work it out ?

    • @juancisneros8981
      @juancisneros8981 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you clipped the battery off the board and connected the two wires to where the batteries used to connect to then you are more than likely not getting a ground signal at the pins that connect to the switch board. To test use a meter to test the two black wires for ground and the two red wires for voltage. What I saw is that the two positive (RED) pins had 4.2v (bench ps was set to 4.2), but the negative had nothing. if This is the case then solder a wire the the P- right under the two black wires (the wires that connect to the actual switch MB) on the battery board and use that as the negative on your bench ps. Hope this helps someone else out as I originally tried two boards and couldn't get it to work.

  • @coladict

    It might never be the capacitor, but one time in a video I saw it was one of the diodes around the chip.

    Random question, my ps5 , after playing for a few hours, disconnects from my wi-fi , and then can't find or reconnect wifi bands without me restarting the console or turning it off and then on again. Sometimes the wi fi works for days, sometimes it drops every 15 minutes. My console is under warranty, but the shop that i bought it from are very doggy and apparently their service crew is on vacation. In short, does it sound like a software or hardware problem?
    Thank you in advance

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest I'm not sure, it sounds like hardware but I've never come across that myself so it could be anything really

    • @twonirwin4056
      @twonirwin4056 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TheCod3r I'm not disagreeing that it works.. I've just always been programmed to clean everything out tin the pads, etc..ect im sure you know what im talking about.. I'll have to try this method. What's your source for low melt leaded solder? Your link brings up nothing? Cheers 🍻

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @twonirwin4056 we all have our own methods mate. I guess it's whatever works, but I've always found the drop method works perfectly for me. For low melt solder I generally buy large packs from amazon but the link keeps changing lol. I wouldn't really recommend low melt for switches though because it runs the risk of tearing the bottom row of pads
