    Great video! Short, no music, his speech is easy to understand, he includes the torque settings. Well done

      How was that well done what happens when the Allen key keeps twisting while you’re taking the nut out and cannot fit any Allen key inside? I didn’t see him explain that please enlighten me.

    You probably just saved me two hours of work. Other videos show that you have to take off the brakes, the rotor, disconnect everything from the struts. You took out three nuts and used a pickle fork.
    Thank you

      Ooh, I'm sorry. I just realized I'm supposed to have some long drawn out beginning, and ending, tell you to like, and subscribe, because you really give a s##t, stretch the video out over 10 minutes, so I can pack it full of ads, get paid the most for your time, and have my analytics go up because your eyes are glued to an extra 15 minutes of nonsense. I plumb forgot about all that.

    This was a really great video. Great view of your procedure and good commentary. Thanks for sharing!
    Also love how you tell us the torque specs on the control arm bolts and then just hit it with the impact lol

  • @mechantics
    @mechantics ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yours is by far the most helpful video on these control arms.
    BTW: The torque spec calls for using a crowsfoot to the torque given plus an additional ½ rotation (180°) of the nut. I'm not going to buy the 18mm ½" drive crowsfoot for this one use, common sense will suffice. THANKS AGAIN MAN!

    If you remove the axle nut and remove the axle to get at the ball joint nut, then you can put a torque wrench on it. However, sometimes that's easier said than done.

    I read through majority of these comments and not once did I hear or see anybody say anything about what happens when you have to put an Allen key inside without having to move the axle let’s make it a little easier for people besides cutting shit off like I did any ideas please let me know because it will be the sixth one I work on.

  • @blaqueknight

    You can use a crowfoot wrench to torque

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crowfoots on torque wrenches need to be used at a 90 degree angle, otherwise the torque measurement will be wrong. There is a mathematical equation for torque multiplication that needs to be used in order to factor in the leverage. If in fact that is what you are talking about.

    • @blaqueknight
      @blaqueknight 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RustBeltAuto Yes I was. I move my axle out the way and just torque it normally. I have my lower control arms coming soon. Thanks a lot for posting this vid. I see the install won't be that bad.
