I was forced to learn an entirely new job field when my company restructured my department. I'm proof that a 58 year old can learn new rules and regulations and write policies for an unfamiliar job. Three years later and I've earn two certificates from a state agency. Older adults can do it. You really can.
Hi Ann! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your experience. I know people who are older can overcome obstacles if they believe they can. You are an example of that fact.
I'm also 53 and just started over. I had to get away from bad people and leave a lot behind. It's been very hard and very lonely. I have to take one day at a time as I'm still recovering. I have cptsd. Thank you for this video
I started over a few times. It's never easy. But, I asked myself 'what is the alternative.' So I moved on. I suspect you can do it too! Good luck and thanks for watching.

@@thetopcat8946 same here ! I’ll be 52 later this year. My 20s was truly the last time my life was great. My 30s was an entire decade of me losing my job over and over again. Moving from town to town, and never really planting my feet anywhere in order to get situated enough to get things going. In My 40s, all that started to calm down a bit and I finally landed a stable job and stayed in the same town these past 11 years, but lost much of that fire in my belly that I had in my 20s, so I didn’t really do much to take full advantage of things being stable. Now, I’m determined to make my 50s the best decade ever!

Guys; know that you are doing great! Everything is falling into place for you very soon! This is the best time to head in that direction which you were always meant to go. Everything up til now happened for a great Devine reason! You are EXACTLY right where you are supposed to be at this moment in your life!!! With that said, you are now about to reap the benefits of your tremendous wisdom gained from all these experiences. Start that workout regimen! Get the wheels moving to start that business that you’ve always had in the back of your head. Today begins the first day of the best of your life! You’re gonna do this! 💪😎👍STAY STRONG !!!

I have to start over with career and a toxic divorce that has devastated my relationship with my kids. I already had a small family and I feel so alone. I want to live with others but find it hard to find community in this nation of lonely souls.
It's sad to be alone with no one to talk to, but it behooves us to 'put ourselves out there'. To consciously strive to make connections. You have to invest time but if you take your time and are determined to meet others it can be done. Just know that you are not alone. There's a conspiracy to include people 50+ to refer to as "seniors" even if not qualified for retirement income. This label hinders people from being taken seriously.

I have to go talk to my former employer and ask if they(brothers) would be willing to be a mentor for me. I do turn 56 years young next week and I really need to get
an invention I have created through the current patent process and on to market. This goal is mainly for my familyʻs future. This video has lit a fire under my butt, I just have to get going.
Hi Darren! I think working with a mentor is a great idea if you find the right mentor and you trust them 100%. I worked with a mentor before I started my first business and he was incredibly helpful. He was a retired business executive who encouraged me every step of the way. Good luck! P.s. You will may need a few different mentors with different expertise.
