chose these over the fast (foam) rings...I don't have any experience with either product, so we will see if I made a good choice. These seemed easier to work with on the 6.5"s in my f & r doors. The egg crate pads are a nice addition. One kit for 4 doors is nice...I would have needed two kits of the other rings; however, in the end each would cost the same to do 4 doors....
Love that these are Australian, you're products are great, I had the V1 that came in the big round box. That 3m tape only gets stickier with time once it's been in the warm door lol 💪
I'm wondering how to get these to stick over the mounting screws around the edge of the speaker? I'm trying to avoid the situation of putting them on over the screws sticking up and then they slowly fall off. Do I need to cut out a little hole for the four screws sticking up?
Excited to receive mine! I don’t like that these cover screw holes, but we’ll see what I can do about that when it’s in my hand and ready to place my PS 165F speakers
So spying the aerpro boxes in the back I’m guessing old mate is Aussie. Who is the Australian distributor for sound skins? TDJ or Stinger? Also only suggestion I have for this and only as an added sales pitch to customers would be a half sheet of material to allow the speaker to be decoupled from the door. Then you have all 3 covered, backwave dispersion, sound funnelling and decoupling. Am keen to try these out
Hi Nicholas! Yes, SoundSkins was founded in Australia but has changed ownership to the United States a couple years ago. The Australian distributor is Carbon Car Systems. Thanks for your input!
@@ricardomolina4605 They say and i quote "the sound skins ring is closed cell foam" At no point did they say if the backing foam was. Why was this asked........ Because other mfg use open cell foam for backing pads. Hence the question. Did you listen?
@@mikepaul3200 There quote states it does not hold water like other open cell foam products on the market. "Closed cell rubber foam" I know what I heard.
Also I put the Roadkill speaker rings on my daughter's car and open cell foam is very soft. Compared to the Soundskins product which is of heavier material.
How sad this was an Australian company to begin with and since being sold to a new owner in the USA we are now neglected in oz. I can't even get easy access to this in Australia and if i can find a random seller we paying USD crazy prices. No replys no care either for questions or support.

The new version won't cover the mounting screws, because you can make the circle larger.

@@mikepaul3200 again the ring is one piece. So yes it still applies. Listen again.
