This guy has such a laid back aura. It almost sounds like he is making things up as he speaks 😆

The process to make the holes as a template would be nice. Good stuff regardless.

Hi, im still deciding if i should close the inner cavities or opening whit the soubd dampening material, ive seen some videos that do not close it up. My question is will bass response and overall sound quality be better if i close the inner openings with the sound dampening material? Thanks!!

Actually, high efficiency damping material, Dynamat, CAN get you significant mid-low end speaker performance and outside noise reduction with minimal weight. Doors are definitely not a place where you would want to use Mass Loaded (very heavy) materials.

You should of have used a small roller to achieve a better adhesion to the panels.

This stuff seems like an easier (but more expensive) way to apply a vibration deadener and a foam material. I think it's a good start, but you won't get significant mid-low end sound reduction without a mass layer, like MLV.
I plan on buying this stuff for an initial layer and then putting MLV over the top of it, hoping the foam on the Soundskins will act as a decoupling layer. Gonna save me a lot of time. This stuff would also probably work great under a head liner

The only problem I see with this is that you'll have to remove the sound deadening material to replace the window and/or window regulator. Not to mention the amount of effort to address every wire, tree, screw on the door panel.

Great work!, is the material the same as Dynamat?

From what I have seen it should be much better. Dynamat is overpriced and underperforming when compared to other products. This product has a foil and butyl layer with an additional layer of acoustic foam on top. I am using this product for deadening between the door and door panel on my current install. I am using Second Skin Damplifier on the interior of the door. Hopefully this product will save me time and the need for any additional jute or foam. I really think this stuff is a winner so far. Time will tell.

@@TickleFingers Hey I was wondering how it went with the soundskins and how you like the result? I'm between dynamat and this product. For my floor was gonna do dynamat and dynapad but I like the idea of 1 product!

@@Monty87LS I freaking love that stuff! It's easy to work with and the results were exactly what I was hoping for. Using a nice sharp blade I was able to cut 3/4 circles really well. You can even use a pair of scissors. I had some junk 99 cent scissors from harbor freight and they worked great. The stuff is a little more expensive, but that foam layer makes a huge difference for noise reduction. Sound deadener alone is not meant to reduce outside noise and an mlv or ccf layer is what's really needed for that. Since this product has closed cell foam layer it reduced outside noise. It even made a difference in how loud my power locks and power windows sound. I'm a believer now.

@@TickleFingers Thanks for the response. Thats what i was hoping to hear. in order to get the results Im looking for with Dynamat I would have to put the Dynapad on top after applying the regular dynamat xtreme and it just seems like a better Idea to get an all in 1 product. Im hoping to do this to my suv and my wifes this summer. And upgrade the sound if I’m allowed lol

@@Monty87LS Good luck. Get yourself a decent roller. This stuff is a little heavy and you notice the weight in the door, but you'll see an outcome to the weight penalty. I used a big socket to use as a cutout template tool with my blade to get nice holes. You will hear a big improvement in the stock speaker performance as well. Might hold you over until the wife calms down from finding out how much you spent on sticky stuff you can't even see and let's you buy some new equipment.....
