I have long wondered why Dynamat works. I have long thought we don't need to cover the entire floor. That would make it a continuous surface. I would think the cymbal is the proper way, where you have gaps so the travel of the soundwaves are interrupted and can't propagate continuously.

We need a lab comparison between Dynamat and Second Skin damping products 😉
sort interesting that the cymbal has just a few strips but in all the applications they do full coverage.

wow thin foil and glue, they make it sound like rocket science. They have to make it sound smart because they know its not worth more that 1.50 sq ft.
