"I carry more weight in the back" while trying to not burst into laughter was adorable. Great review! I can see this appealing to people who are more trim and have trouble keeping their ccw from printing, even with good holsters.
I have watched a few TH-cam viDs on this gun. You REALLY do the best. You cover the aspects of the design and offer many insights for new shooters also. And you were honest on your opinions. :)
That was a very thorough and comprehensive review. Your technical knowledge and analysis of firearms is excellent. Glad that you pointed out both the pros and cons of the gun in an unbiased fashion. Thanks for the very frank and honest review. You're the best.
Excellent Video Kirsten. I have a friend that carries one and he practices with it. I've got to shoot it too. Didn't experience any issues. Your review was very professional and I say unbiased. WELL DONE!
At least you guys can have a bad gun. here in Brazil where it is the taurus, only the police and the criminals have them, we are even forbidden to have one at home. continue to fight for the right to have weapons. Sorry for the Google translator :-)
@Dick Burns ha ha so true! my ex wife would lose that gun in her gunt it would never be found again lol..... course, she would pawn it off first, because you know, meth cost money....
Kirsten; you're the only person I've seen that mentioned the trigger reset issue on this firearm. Not that I would have considered this gun anyway, but still...nice work.
This was my first conceal gun... I go to the range 2x's a week. Firing this gun, even with its flaws is 2nd nature. I use 20 yards as my range for it. After having it many years, I can any part of the target I want with very little hesitation or thought. I am just as accurate as my friends with their guns with sights... In a situation where your weapon is needed, the avg length of time is 4-6 secons, 7yd distance and 3-6 rounds.... I have never had a proble with the mag disconnect. The whole thing is to know the gun you carry... I completely release the trigger to its original position everytime... I did not even know about the partial release problem and willtry it at range this week, I am big and strong enough that I appreciate the force needed to pull the trigger... I feel better that an accidental trigger pull will not happen if it gets snagged... the pull was actually a selling point to me.
Damn thanks for the detail. Not a lot of people appreciate comments and reviews like this one but BROTHER LET ME TELL YOU. You are doing THE LORDS WORK. Providing your individual thoughts on something doesn't seem meaningful when not many people can communicate to you that your thoughts and opinions are important and useful. Please keep providing your well experienced opinions in comment sections and reviews. There is millions out there looking for knowledge like this. Thank you !
Very honest review, I carry my curve at work everyday. I work with a bunch of anti- gun people and if I were to print they would lose their mind. I wear dress pants for work and this gun fits great in my front pocket and when it does print it looks like a cell phone. I am not a fan of shooting this gun but I do practice to make sure I can. Once you get used to it you will be fine, more important not to print at work. I carry a XD 9mm on the weekends, much more dependable and much more comfortable clothes to conceal. Thanks for the review.
Dick Burns the XD does nothing better than a Glock, M&P, VP9, or Sig P320, or FN 509, but it does a few things worse. There is zero reason to own a Springfield XD.
Excellent Review, I just got my permit to carry. I have trained on my 38 special. I was thinking about getting one, but you have sold me on avoiding this taurus model. Thank You!
Great review Miss K, I hope to see more reviews from you in the near future. Nice to hear a females perspective on the gun. I agree 100%, hats off to Taurus for thinking outside the box and trying something new, but overall there is a lot that needs work on this pistol before it can be trusted to save your life.
I think the best thing from this is that the other companies will have to at least think about designing a better concealed carry pistol. Or maybe a better holster? I really loved your review. It covered every major point clearly and completely. And the right amount of time: I like gun reviews but some guys just love to hear themselves talk. I know-that's what the fast forward button is for. Never in one of your videos! Keep on doing what you do!!
Not only is it great to watch a beautiful and knowledgeable lady give a review, your videos are high quality and easy to watch and hear. Keep up the great job!
3:23 Seriously, the perfect " I carry more weight in the back " that's only 1/4 of why I watch her videos, she has amazing gun knowledge and skill. Much respect !
Honest review, with extra points for your correct use of Latin! I would imagine many who watch this would like a few more scenes of how and where you carry it! Another really good video. Thanks!
"The Curve does curve around my curve!" ~Quote of the year. Let's just say you're probably the perfect person to test, and review this gun, and leave it at that.
Great review. I have the Taurus PT 111 G2 and the Spectrum and love them both. I was curious about this model an you have been a great help in providing this video. Let's see what upgrades Taurus produces in the future.
I like the Taurus Curve. I prefer to cross draw" with the pistol on my left although I am a right-handed shooter. A local machine shop had no difficulty moving the spring clip to the other side of the pistol. Problem solved.
Man, I think that false reset is a major no-go. Great review and glad you brought that to light. I can't imagine another reason to re-rack in the middle of an event. I mean we already have stovepipes.. why the hell add to that list. I hope you let Taurus know about that, don't know how that would get out of design QA like that. Great video as always.
In a tense situation you pull just after it resets before trigger moves to complete front. Which seems miles in front of reset. The end scenario is your dead in a defensive situation.
Mortismors the TCP has the same false reset. Taurus knows about it because it is covered in the safety booklet that comes with the gun. the book says that you have to completely release the trigger after each shot. l had the TCP for about 2 months and I dont think I will ever buy any other Taurus product again.
If this is the first video of Joy's that you have watched, you need to view her entire library. Excellent tutorials and information with some incredible shooting by Joy as well. Her skills and knowledge are off the charts.
I've never thought about this being a right-handed gun; I'm guessing Paul McCartney is out of luck... Great review that actually brought out issues with the gun that would be a pain, sounds like Taurus must have asked Remington for trigger advice... Kristen's best line in the review was telling folks that practicing was the key to becoming better with their gun, especially in a self-defense situation. A very honest review. Thanks!
Guns like this are designed with the rule of 3 in mind. The rule of three states that statistically most self defense situations take place within 3 feet, start in less than 3 seconds, and less than 3 shots are fired.
Spectacular review. The trigger reset is a huge issue in my opinion that would drop my confidence in carrying this. The curved feature along with it seeming to print like an electronic device is the my favorite feature. No snag points is great secondly but it doesn't outweigh that bad trigger set.
The reset is only a problem when dry firing. When you shoot the gun, the bullet fires and cycles the slide... so when you reset the trigger, it actually resets. Just like a Glock, the trigger will not reset if the slide isn't actuated. I don't know this for an absolute fact, because I never owned a Taurus Curve and don't know precisely how they work (100s of other guns but not this one specifically)... but when she did that, she did not cycle the slide as it would if she was firing live ammo and/or as if you are dry firing a Glock. The slide has to reset on most guns that do not have "restrike" capability... and it appears that the curve doesn't.
Thank you so much for your video I thought that the Taurus curve 380 was the gun for me but seeing that I cannot rapid-fire the gun was the issue that talked me out of it. Thank you for your demonstration.
Amazing presentation young lady. Just subbed. I have just recently gotten back into shooting and I have to say your video was one of the most informative and well done videos I have seen. Thank you for taking the time and effort to help educate us all.
After watching this I've changed my opinion with a caveat that you stated at the end of the video. If all the kinks were ironed out I could find a role for this in my personal arsenal and not just that of a girlfriend or wife. If I were planning a day at the beach or poolside this would be ideal for carrying with a bathing suit on but further testing would be needed to see how it holds up to salt water, some sand and chlorine. Additionally, I could justify this as a backup gun for the characteristic of being such a low printing, snagging and overall concealable piece. They're definitely onto something but they really need to refine their design to make it viable.....
Kirsten Joy Weiss maybe I'm too optimistic but this video could go a long way towards that. I haven't heard much about this gun myself but the firearm industry is heavy with group think and anything that goes against the grain of conventional wisdom will face an overwhelming uphill battle in order to gain acceptance. Hopefully this video with its constructive criticism will get Taurus' attention in the sea of hatred that the rest of the gun community spouts towards them.....
Normally I shy away from videos with really pretty girls because they seem to focus on that aspect too much. But I really feel like you're just a gun owner doing a review who happens to be a really pretty girl.
I like looking at a pretty woman holding and shooting a gun. Especially if she knows what she's doing. But at the end of the day, I care more about how the gun shoots and performs. And no pretty face is gonna distract me from that. i guess that what comes with maturity and having a Survival mindset.
I was watching her videos long before this one came out and she is more knowedgable about shooting and guns than most gun guys I know. The fact that she is lovely is just a bonus. If you watch her vids with some other guys, it's funny watching them interact bc they know she knows more than they do
Great fun review, you thoroughly went through every question I had about the gun. You didn't tell me it was double action but I could tell anyway because of everything you went through. Thanks.
I think this might be one of the first reviews to actually take the Curve seriously. I appreciate that you can't recommend it, but you didn't dismiss it out of hand. But, yeah, lots and LOTS of better options out there.
I know it has a very heavy trigger but having the gun clipped inside my pants with no holster covering the trigger makes me nervous just thinking about it.
Great review! I dont think i disagree on any point. Kinda wish theyd make a slightly larger version in 9mm wit some sights that mayb have some half circle protectors on the side to maintain the no snag. Also agree wit givin them props for innovation. I may not b the biggest taurus guy they at least try to bring new stuff to the market
I had a local machine shop move the belt clip to the other side, so I could hang it left. Fits well, wish that Taurus would have made that fit initially.
It's hard not to pay attention to her asp, but, She is talented and her explanations and definitions and over all experience is definitely obvious and the way she carries herself and how deliberate she is and her actions is refreshing!! I love the fact that she always confirms that her chamber is clear before she does any movement with a gun towards the camera and her trigger discipline is perfect!!! I'm not even that into guns but I'm learning a lot because of these videos.
Cool concept, but I couldn't put life life in Taurus' hands. I've had 3 fail me in the past. I'll never own another. I'd maybe carry one for a backup but not as my primary
Outstanding review! Thanks for exposing something (the false reset) that would not be apparent until actually working with the firearm. You were extremely thorough.
Thanks for the unbiased review. I guess this fall into one of these on paper the gun is perfect but got lost somewhere in translation. I agree that Taurus should have just made the gun for 'freedom states". This would have likely got rid of one if not both of your issues.
You can remove the magazine disconnect. It's simple. I just took the mag disconnect out and put the pistol back together. No modification to any parts. The insides are the exact same as the PT738 (except the PT738 has a slide release). If you can't find a video of how to completely tear down the Curve just find one for the 738. (Quote from Alan Mitchell)
That's something you do NOT want to do; that's something that can get you in hot water when it comes to the legal defense of your actions. It's technically tampering with a safety device. It's unlikely to have much bearing in an actual prosecution of any actions (although that's not a guarantee), but it will be really problematic in any civil suit which is pretty much inevitable (as misguided as it might be).
I wonder if this has led to more purposeful design of handguns for CCW, as you pointed out most are just smaller versions of a larger handgun. If that’s the case, then this gun did serve some purpose.
Good review, nicely done, not over dramatized like many reviewers. I have a Taurus Curve that I purchased when I moved to Texas. I prefer my Springfield XD 9mm as I was immediately more accurate with it. It doesn't hurt that I am an old man and wear loose fitting clothes so concealment is not really a problem. 8-) Thank you for making this video. I found it to be very much worth the time to watch it.
Got it based on your review, so handy for easy on and off. Those who would say .380 is not enough, let me know when they want to absorb a round!!! Thanks for the review.
Out of curiosity. The old Browning 9mm had a similar issue. When making safe. We (Brit Army) used index finger to inserted in mag well to fire off the action, or an empty mag attached to the unloading bay (was a totally gash idea) Can the same be done with the curve? Finger inserted etc.
I noticed something in the close-up of the trigger press at 7:37; it seemed like there was an okay trigger press and then it looked like there were a couple of walls that it hit where it was slower and there was a little bit more to get the gun to go off. I've trained in the slack out and then light press to finish. Did it seem like there was a consistent slack out or did it have multiple places where it seemed like you hit a wall and then hit another wall before the gun went off? If so, that would have been a fairly serious flaw with the trigger since more substantial travel might cause a person to pull their shots to the side.
Mine keeps jamming. sent it back they shot 12 rounds of Seer ammo and sent it back. I was hoping to find ammo that I can use at the range to get comfortable with it. I've tried several brands to no avail. Any suggestions for the range please.
Common, as a PI in the old revolver days, I carried a snub nose 38 in a waist holster. Some years later we are into automatics. There are so many small ones with good designs (Taurus 22, Baretta 32, Micro 9, etc.) do we need these extreme designs? Maybe the gadget guy may need it but it's pretty much silly. Now small guns have small sights. The Micro 9 from Kimber has a pretty good punch using 9mm ammo. Capacity is good and you can get a laser so sights are not necessary.
A key purpose of holsters is to cover the trigger. Especially for pocket carry, because a gun doesn’t stay in exactly the same position. A holster keeps your finger off the trigger until you draw the weapon.
True. I have a pistol where the loaded chamber indicator was causing all kinds of misfeeds. When I removed it, the gun becomes very dependable. But because of the laws stating that you can not modify a pistol here, I can not carry the pistol for EDC. It is a fine example of people who do not know what they are talking about making laws. As is I have a very undependable pistol, or an illegal pistol, either way it is not a useful tool.
It's rly neat! thnx for the review on this unique CCW. ..i wonder how it's doing 6 yrs on? & k..it's obvo ppl like you. Talented, pretty, smart, funny & all. Yet I think there is something more..something many of your fans over the years never even really thought of. Being a Christian can be a lil polarizing..on a subliminal lvl. It'll cause some to dislike us. Yet many ppl will like you for that.."Thing" aha. Charisma..je ne se quoi.
I've had a curve for about a year and I love carrying it. Never have to mess with holsters, it's perfect for pocket carry, no one ever suspects I'm carrying it. I hate the comments about how Taurus guns are unreliable and trash. I've put over a thousand rounds through my curve and never had a single misfeed.
Glad you've had luck with yours. My experience with a Taurus TCP is that it was not reliable at feeding due to poor machining on the barrel feed ramp. A large burr was catching on the cartridge. Once I polished down the burr the reliability was greatly increased (but still not fantastic). That is a problem caused by poor manufacturing techniques and bad quality control - very common with Taurus and the reason they have rightfully earned a reputation for being an unreliable maker of trash firearms.
Really no print when you are carrying in the back. But, what about sitting down with that firearm in that location ? I've tried that location but sitting down doesn't work. Does it with this firearm ?
8:05 wow.... oh, hell no... Went to Acadermy Sports last year to get this on a black Friday discount for my lady, but they'd sold out, so I let the misses talk me into springing for the Springfield Armory XD-E Just now discovering the hell-of-a-bullet that was dodged that day. (puns not intended)
For you Kristen hitting with the Taurus curve I never thought would be a problem but for most people I don't think they could hit a barn door with it at 7 yards

Review a USP .45 Match. Preferably two.
Did you hear the news from Taurus? Apparently they are working on a new version that has a bayonet lug.
They call it the Carve.
badlandskid 😂🤣😁😎
badlandskid : Now THAT'S funny !!
badlandskid d
badlandskid Ha! good one!!
I have a 454 Raging Bull! No regrets. Keep it in a chest rig when fishing in bear country.
Glad to help!
Style, Grace, Beauteaous....and really opens my eyes....
TYVM !!
I needed that.
I know so little... I could watch all day !!
Great review Kirsten. I will definitely check out your other reviews. Thanks for taking time to do this video.
Glad to help! Thanks
Honest review... concise, informative, and maintain interest very well.
Thanks for the unbiased review. I guess this fall into one of these on paper the gun is perfect but got lost somewhere in translation.
I agree that Taurus should have just made the gun for 'freedom states". This would have likely got rid of one if not both of your issues.
This review was both thorough and HONEST. Thanks!
"the curve does curve around my curve."
Curve-cesption
This is the best commercial I've ever watched, I'll definitely check that gun out now great commercial I don't think it gets any better than this.
I appreciated this review, it was well done and I subscribed.
I wonder if this has led to more purposeful design of handguns for CCW, as you pointed out most are just smaller versions of a larger handgun. If that’s the case, then this gun did serve some purpose.
This was a well thought out unbiased review. Thank you.
I just purchased this gun and I found this review very useful.. thanks
...😉👍
What do you find useful about it?
Got it based on your review, so handy for easy on and off. Those who would say .380 is not enough, let me know when they want to absorb a round!!! Thanks for the review.
First rate review. Thank you for emphasis on training.
A truly authentic gem you are, if I ever saw one... 😎
That is very sweet, thank you
Well earned, my sweet.
If so, that would have been a fairly serious flaw with the trigger since more substantial travel might cause a person to pull their shots to the side.
looks like a snubnose modernised miniature version of the broomhandle mouser doesnt it
Mine keeps jamming. sent it back they shot 12 rounds of Seer ammo and sent it back. I was hoping to find ammo that I can use at the range to get comfortable with it. I've tried several brands to no avail. Any suggestions for the range please.
Speaking of Curves Kirsten Joy Weiss always looks amazing and beautiful
Thank you Captain Obvious. Know where we can go to find cheap hotels anyway?
Everyone knows she's gorgeous; especially her.
Capacity is good and you can get a laser so sights are not necessary.
wow! just found your channel. you are a goddess! thanks for the review. teetering on this gun.
A key purpose of holsters is to cover the trigger. Especially for pocket carry, because a gun doesn’t stay in exactly the same position. A holster keeps your finger off the trigger until you draw the weapon.
Whats this? Excess gun laws create more hazards? Who would have thought?
So this is that ASMR feeling people talk about! Do more gun reviews, may I suggest the Bren 10.. If you can find one!
Great review.....but still yearning for more high-end .22 reviews.
Noted :)
Yes, I would like to see some target rifle reviews too. You always have some really nice guns but don't talk about them enough.
My question is what gun do you carry the most for ccw ?
Kirsten holding that ugly thing makes me feel like I have a chance.
When "people" refer to weapons as they would Art. You lost the moment you were Born.
And then you woke up :-(
i got what you were trying to say. i thought it was kinda funny.
@@HighSpeedNoDrag Funny the haters don't have a sense of humor....
What is wrong with you nonces, she is only a 4/10 so you have a chance..
It's rly neat! thnx for the review on this unique CCW. ..i wonder how it's doing 6 yrs on?
& k..it's obvo ppl like you. Talented, pretty, smart, funny & all. Yet I think there is
something more..something many of your fans over the years never even really thought of.
I wouldn't call them trash but their quality has gone down from what it used to be. They used to be very good at an affordable price.
Thanks for an intelligent and sensible even-handed review. Hope you do lots of them.
Great vid, not many reviews of this out there and enjoyed it for reasons other than the obvious... Cheers!
Really no print when you are carrying in the back. But, what about sitting down with that firearm in that location ? I've tried that location but sitting down doesn't work. Does it with this firearm ?
8:05 wow.... oh, hell no...
Went to Acadermy Sports last year to get this on a black Friday discount for my lady, but they'd sold out, so I let the misses talk me into springing for the Springfield Armory XD-E
Just now discovering the hell-of-a-bullet that was dodged that day.
(puns not intended)
Ruger's: LCP, LCP2 & LCP MAX
Would Be A Much BETTER Choice
Then This...
its a lot harder for women to concealed carry because no one closely examines men all the time.
True, but men are focused on 3 things when they look at women: a pretty face and T & A.
Their clothing choices make it difficult too, unless they want to dress like a guy.
For you Kristen hitting with the Taurus curve I never thought would be a problem but for most people I don't think they could hit a barn door with it at 7 yards
I like the even sidedeness of your reviews.
So beautiful and great editing/presentation! New fan.
How refreshing to see an honest review.
Thank you
I think this is the best presented review for this gun that I have seen. Thanks
Great and honest review!
