lalicatal Every morning we get new shipments of toilet paper, paper towels, and water. Within thirty minutes to an hour it’s all gone. Our manufactures can’t even keep up. We’ve had to bring in new brands, and put limits on all basic items. People hangout in the parking lot, wait for the doors to open, and literally run to get their hands on whatever they can. We even had a lady follow one of our trucks up to the loading zone🤦🏼♀️ I’ve never seen anything like this😕

The only thing about homeschooled kids in my experience is they're a little under socialised with public schooled kids. Shoot the shit, hang out, join club's, do dumb stuff and then go back to your higher quality education and let them dodge the bullets at public school 🤣🖖🏼

Also, they are not under socialized at all. In fact, they have fluent and interesting conversations with just about anyone in their path. It's the school kids that seem to have issues holding intelligent conversations with a wide variety of people. The schooled ones only seem to talk to kids their own age, and it barely more than constant cursing out loud and yelling about their younger siblings.
As I see it, at least in my own neighborhood, school cancellation can only do good as long as the kiddos mostly stay out of trouble (probably should keep an eye out just in case I need to be a good neighbor and bandage a cut or break up excessively rowdy behavior).

@@megclif Well no, it's absolutely imperative that people understand how terribly Trump has handled this. Many people, likely yourselves included, no longer even know what good handling is due to Fox News propaganda. You can't always blame the left. Trump is the most divisive president in history and he didn't take this seriously until they told him that it's affecting markets and therefore his reelection campaign. Until then, he was only worried about making sure it didn't make him look bad. Also, Pelosi is an establishment shill, not a progressive. Shapiro saying that the private sector will be the ones handling it doesn't debunk that we SHOULD have a stronger government healthcare system.
Government does need to work together though and stop playing political games. It isn't a political game to demand better from the leader of the USA though.

Id have accepted the WHOs offer to provide tests. Pretty easy choice. I wouldnt have mandated that certain states not test. I would have allocated the proper funding a month ago and commissioned the ordering of large amounts of the proper medical equipment so that medical staffs would have what they needed. We had time to prepare and the government chose to have kts media eing (Fox) tell the public it wasnt a big deal and then blame China for our response to it.

I oversee the supply side of one of the busiest grocery stores in the US on the SF peninsula. We resupply every single day. The panic buying of paper has run the warehouses out of stock. We're all running ourselves into the ground trying to keep up. This is a wake up call people, gradually increase your supplies on hand for ANY disruption to the supply line. How about everyone just stay home for a day, watch a movie, play a game with your kids, love each other, and give me a day off, so the day after we can fill your store up again. As Ben said, put the political BS aside and be Americans. My gift was an elderly lady that came in late this morning who truly needed her TP. I asked her to wait for just a moment, I had 2 packages of Quilted northern Plush in my office. I came back carrying one, she was so very happy. The very best moment of my day. Share the goods, help and look out for each other.

The intro of Ben is spot on. I am telling you this from Milan. Don’t be scared of the virus. But be concerned that if you don’t contain and delay contagion , hospitals will be overwhelmed. Then any condition will be an issue to deal with ... Here we are close to the limit... don’t underestimate this issue especially in regions where you have less healthcare coverage 🙏 🇮🇹 🇺🇸
The one decent thing about this virus is it seems to be easier on the kids. With a 1 and 10 year old that's a little more relieving.
If it hurt kids people would take this more seriously. I'm glad it doesn't hurt kids just the reality of how limited people's foresight is for situation like this.

Netflix servers are going to go down, then the shit will hit the fan. In their desperation people might even have to read a book, the horror.
I work in the grocery business for a major company in the South East and we have been incredibly busy. Its not just toilet paper. Invest in the grocery industry and it helps farmers, ranchers, food suppliers of any kind, truckers, and low wage workers (baggers and cashiers), and it goes on and on. Unlike other industries the grocery store helps multiple other kinds of businesses, producers, manufacturers, and services.
Still, there has not been a rush to buy vegan foods.

1% of the population currently infected is a really good thing, because the death rate just plummets like crazy. It's still a lot of deaths, but if people understand that it's more of a mild flu and can get better at home, the ones with more serious cases will receive better care at a hospital, dropping that death rate even more

Jacob Howell I think we need another prophet. Some divine revelation to remind us we’re not left to our own devices. I kind of think however this corona virus thing might be one of God’s wonders. It’s getting a bit out of hand. You know how he is with plagues n shit. We need a messenger to straighten us out.
Italians aren’t as patriotic as Americans, but today a lot of us went out on their balcony and started singing the national anthem in unison, others played instruments and music. We’re more united than ever, and it makes me feel just a little bit better. Stay safe, Americans. Avoid as many deaths as possible. Don’t make the same mistakes we made, this is not just “a dem media hype”, and I say this as someone who dislikes Democrats and their asshole-y partisanship.

You know, it's really crazy… I have 3 contacts in Italy and none of them personally know anyone with the virus. Here in the United States I have employees that work for me and we all talk, and I made sure I asked them and their family members if they know anyone that personally has the virus… all have the same answer. None.
I don't mean to be a downer, but you should stay on the safe side just in case. I thought the same thing and thenwe had an out break in my community and suddenly all the schools are shut down (except the boys highschool for some reason)

I supply grocery stores. You don't need to stockpile 3 months worth of groceries. It just creates a vicious cycle. You empty the shelves, stores scramble to fill them. Suppliers scramble to get more inventory, and prices go up. It makes things look far worse than they are. There is ample supply. Just stay calm.

Conservative ethics tend to place increased importance on loyalty(ingroup), respect (authority), sanctity (purity) increasing amounts until at the most extreme “right” they surpass Care (which even the Center-Right and Right place above these three) and almost meets Fairness (which is at the top of everyone’s list.) Now all that is to point out that in the “Progressive” Left (and perhaps more importantly, in the current heart of the Dem. Party thinking) we see a new ingroup forming a loyalty to, not an American melting pot, but an intersectional identity coalition. A new authority based on a sectarian hierarchy of declared “historically oppressed” groups. A new Purity, not sexuality and Divine morality, but of race, creed, and ideology. So perhaps this disease panic will help the Democratic Party candidate since ethically Pres. Trump is more of a centrist and in practice, he is more of true, Olde School liberal.
Wow! Come to think of it, in practice Pres. Trump is less crazy than Jackson, less authoritarian than Lincoln, less expansionist than FDR, less racist than Wilson, less duplicitous than Obama, less destructive than Carter, less lecherous than Kennedy, & less crooked than either Johnson. For all the talk of a chaotic over the top presidency, his real failings are being less moral than Washington, less diplomatic than Jefferson, and less charming than Reagan. 🤯
TL;DR Trump may actually be helped by the viral panic, but not a guarantee. And, I just realized is no where near the most extreme President of America so far.

Well it is easy to say "just stay home to flatten the curve" if your income doesn't depend on leaving the house..... with a virus that apparently does not kill anyone under 90 without preexisting conditions it is a lot to ask of a carpenter (for example) to not leave the house and wait for the bank to send the reminder for the mortgage payment! I'm not saying I don't care - but why don't we isolate the vulnerable instead of the whole population?
