    I used the record to record the time and date my daughter was born. I then took a pic of the recorded time and printed a picture and framed it. I hung it in my office.

    The record time is useful for me as a security guard. When I respond to an incident I can record the time I arrived, EMT and police arrival, departure and scene clear and then pull it up when writing my incident report. Allows me to keep my hands free which is a huge benefit.

  • @jebstuart3
    @jebstuart3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    ACTUALLY, I DID BREAK THE LUGS ON MY RANGEMAN!!!!.....and I was absolutely amazed @ how little effort it took to do it!! I managed to catch it on the inside of my sleeve on my dress shirt one morning, and as I tried to work my arm through the sleeve, the fact that it was caught on the inside of the sleeve was apparently...ALL IT TOOK TO BREAK THE LUGS!!!!! I thought, "YOU'VE GOTTA BE SHITTIN' ME!! This is supposed to be a G-SHOCK, and a dress shirt is all it took to break this supposedly "tough" watch!?!?!" By the time I found out I was gonna have to shell out about $250 to get the thing fixed (I had to send it out to Utah from Michigan to do it), I swore I'd NEVER buy another G-SHOCK again!! I don't know who the "brain-iac" was who thought up this "watch-band-lug" crap, but they need to pull their head outta their A** and think of somethin' else!!! Extremely frustrating!! About $280 bucks down the crapper!! I only had the thing for about a year & a half!!

  • @WaywardPondering
    @WaywardPondering 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    This maybe one of the last good true military G-Shocks as I need a watch that works completely on its own. When I was in the Army there where many times I didn’t have a phone or cell reception. This rules out Bluetooth paired with an app functionality. Also forget about watches requiring an external power source, aside from solar, such as the newer Garmins. Many of the advertised military tactical watches is straight marketing BS as they aren’t practical.

    • @traviswalker8933
      @traviswalker8933 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The army does not use solar powered watches as you don't want to give your position away to the enemy while doing something as miniscule as charging a watch. Also, worrying about the watch's charge level instead of the task in hand would be considered as a distraction. The military uses basic, battery powered G-Shocks for those reasons.

    many things could be better but still the best watch in the world for me, yes it is plastic, but in my business it is ultimate tool, no charging like modern wrist gadgets, I use barometer trend all the time, I didn't use compass because I use different one for navigation but it is must have for emergencies, but the ultimate thing for me is one button stopwatch, use it absolutely all the time in emergency as mountain rescue situation, as soon as I get a call I press button and I know my response time, how long it was from a emergency call, yes you can remember when the call was made or mark it somehow but in high stress and adrenaline situation things don't work that way... it is simple thing but for me it is a deal breaker, no other watch can do that and also it is always ready no need to worry about battery life, and it is always accurate to the second, can't beat this with any wrist gadget with ton of useless functions, in stress situations when you have injured man to rescue they are useless,when adrenaline rush and you must react you just don't scroll trough functions and check battery status etc. you have other. things to do... I hope they will make this model forever

      They will they seem to ruin everything these days with giant faces analog digital combination and too much technology and nonsense into a 90 millimeter case size..

    • @BuffaloNickel9
      @BuffaloNickel9 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sir Kyushu Correct. I Definitely believe you. I've seen Lots of reviews and the new Digital Rangeman is absolutely nothing I would consider buying. Too BIG!
      It's almost hard not to laugh when I look @ the size of the Newest Range man .😂
      I had a hard time deciding whether or not to buy the old Rangeman GW 9400 which is much smaller then the new one. would be too big or not?...
      The old one is as big as I would go. I actually really enjoy that old version Range man Gw 9400..
      In the new Digital Version, they took an already huge watch and made it a clown sized giant watch.
      Have you ever viewed any of G-Shock High fashion Channel? Just look at every watch he owns. They all look 85 mm on his wrist
      Cheers

    • @BuffaloNickel9
      @BuffaloNickel9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sir Kyushu in addition to your Valid points, I'll make one more point.
      The TH-cam channel called: "G-Shock High fashion" I referred to earlier made a specific video on the old Range man GW 9400.
      While I do not necessarily agree with his taste of wearing Huge G-Shocks on his very tiny wrist, i believe he is very knowledgeable. He's known for taking apart and servicing all G-Shocks.
      In the video, he took apart the old Range man GW 9400 and showed all the components.
      He showed that Casio could make the old Rangeman watch much, much smaller if they wanted to. The components inside did not take up that much space compared to how oversized the bezel and overall watch were.
      Looking @ the small interior components proved that Casio is wanting to make their watches bigger and bigger.
      Though it is not necessary because the components would fit in a much more Compact and smaller watch frame..
      It is clear that Casio really likes the huge, bold watch face trend, and will continue with it unfortunately.
      I don't like small watches, I just don't want them to be so huge. Ya know?
      Cheers

    OMG so here I am again...
    Just bought THIS one and watching yet ANOTHER tutorial.
    I LOVE this watch. It literally has EVERYTHING that I would use and want in a outdoor piece.
    I just bought the GW7900-1 but I really have no use for the tidal/moon features AND the 94 is triple, solar AND atomic. The ONLY other feature that one could think of is location tracking in bluetooth. Not for me. I just want a stand alone "survival" piece and this fits perfectly.
    I tried not to spend the other hundred but it's too much of a bargain for the rangeman.
    The new one is really cool but HUGE. Once it's shrunken down a little I'd definitely go for it. The display is crazy nice too but the 9400 is rugged, practical AND beautiful in its design (to me).
    Thanks again and may your creator bless you richly.

    Hey, I would like to point something that is missing from this greatest tutorial about Rangeman ever existed :). I watched both of them, part 1 and part 2 and I think something is worth mentioning about that auto time calibration Multi Band 6.
    In the manual it's specifically said that if "Power Saving" setting is ON, then the Receive Operation is disabled.
    I had given up about this, I also own another G-Shock with radio controlled time, and that one didn't worked either, so I just resigned, I thought that I was just too far from the wave.
    But, after reading the manual more closely, I stumbled upon that warning, I disabled "power saving", I enabled Receveing aaaand, succes, the next morning both of my g-shock's were calibrated.
    So, I think it's very important to know this, IF you want for the watch to auto calibrate at night you must disable "Power saving".

    Was gifted one of these almost 6 years ago and I still wear it every day without fail. it's experienced a motorcycle wreck, 4 years in the army as a mechanic, lots of deep water diving and it's still in prime condition. once this one finally gives out which I doubt will be anytime soon, I'm getting another of the same exact one.

    I've never understand how "mud resist" is an additional feature? I mean, if water can't get in, then how the heck could mud ever get in? Anybody ever think the same way?

    • @agayfuzzypandabear
      @agayfuzzypandabear 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The mud resist function means that the watch has gaskets between the button face and the button receiver, where water may enter (causing no harm, tight water seals lie deeper within the watch), though something like mud or snow can't get in and make it difficult to press the button like on a normal casio/gshock watch. It won't have too many issues without the mud resist, however having it is a nice touch.

Always had a Casio watch-G shock, Mudman, had early Casio phone book as well as Casio calculator watch. I loved my mudman. Stopped doing stopwatch & countdown functions, I believe when battery was changed, something happened. Video is useful, since I have difficulty reading small print manual it comes with. I am not clear if I am pinging a tower for atomic time, do I still need to set up manually?

    Countdown Timer with no repeat function and unable to set number of seconds is such a disappointment. My 50-dollar Timex Ironman has those features (even without the ABC, it still has shock resistance and 200M water resistance; a staple of every g shock, hell it even has a night mode where the Indiglo activates every time any button is pressed.) The Rangeman is an absolutely beautiful and rugged watch combining all ABC functions into one watch, but I was surprised with all the normal everyday functions I can't do that I can with much cheaper watches.

To my knowledge they cannot be fixed?! the straps are screwed in on the case/ bezel if its broken on the case itself you can't fix it.. you can get a case replacement tho.. but they don't come as one part, its mostly the case/glass/bezel and they don't come cheap offical.. and you have to put your own module in that.. if its just the strap you can replace the strap..
