Thank you so much; this is like the only channel i can find where any effort is made to divorce the hanzi, pinyin, and english. Even the videos that do have pinyin have it put at the OTHER END of the screen, so one can ignore it until running into a character they don't know. Having the constant pinyin hanging over is so distracting when trying to learn hanzi. Great content

There are some differences between Mandarin and Singapore Chinese, just some words and pronunciation differences. We still understand each other very well in communication.

Native speaker here When someone is wearing the earrings，I will use “这副耳环真好看/这副耳环看上去真不错” instead, since using “长得” may conflict with “你长的真漂亮” However when the earrings/anything else is not being put on, we can feel free to use “这耳环长得真漂亮”（although in case of earrings this combination is a little bit odd）

磨豆机不能 “长” 因为没有生命。
反正人们这么用 “长得” 而我们必须习惯罢了。
人类语言的精彩之处在于，除了直接的描述，我们还有修辞，比如：比喻，排比，拟人……上学期我教高级写作，正好教到“拟人”，而我在这里用到的，正是这个修辞。
