Dude i love how professional your videos are! Also You should try doing a mod guide on a blaster that doesn’t have many guides on it. (Witch you probably already thought of)
Thank you it means a lot when people think my work is good. Professional is definitely a high rank considering I film on my desk after school with 2 desk lamps for lighting XD On the other mod guide note, i definitely intend to do this once i gain more experience. Honestly i am somewhat of a beginner myself at this point. But as for less known blasters i was thinking the clearshot? Not sure how well known it is i personally love it because the grip is super comfortable, and it can take a heavier spring so it can become a pretty powerful pistol. Let me know what you think. Is there another blaster you'd like to see me mod?
Wish this was the video, that came up when I googled maverick mods. As a newbie I made some mistakes due to an older video telling me to stretch the spring 🤦♂️ You’ve earned my subscription!
it was EXACTLY the same for me but i was born in 2006 and i was about 4 when i took apart this gun and did something to shoot WAY HARDER just to hurt my sisters and i found youtube in 2012 (6 years old) on my iphone 3 (it was my sisters “old phone” because she just got the “BRAND NEW” iphone 4) what good times back then. we lived in the projects and we were the ONLY white/hispanic family in the complex and all of my friends were black and let me tell you. everyone was so racist to me but at such a young age i didn’t understand what they meant, but looking back at it now i understand it all. 😂😂
An additional/alternative modification for this is to fill the dead-space of the reverse-plunger system. The stationary portion of the air-chamber is "dead-space", it provides an area for air-compression that does not contribute to dart-thrust, an issue eliminated (mostly) by direct-plunger systems. Fill this chamber with styrofoam or other material and let a bit extend out from the back to act as the plunger-padding (instead of trying to glue a pad inside the actual plunger). Then put a stiff tube/straw through the foam to allow air to pass unimpeded from the plunger itself to the rotating cylinder. Another trick is to run a continuous layer of electrical-tape around the back of the cylinder where air exits the plunger-chamber to the dart-chambers and punch holes in it where the cylinder-holes are. As you pull the trigger, the cylinder rotates at a slight distance from the air-port UNTIL the plunger is released at the same time as the dart-chamber is properly aligned, whereupon the plunger shoves the entire air-chamber forward against the back of the cylinder and SEALS against the tape as the air is discharged to launch the dart. This is just one more way to ensure a proper air-seal.
did all the mods great vid, I'm in Australia so instead of pennys i used 5c coins fits perfect (used 6 cause they look a little thinner) and also weighted the handle with a stack of taped up 20c coins (five down the bottom they just fit ). from a dumpster find to mod firing elite darts thank you kindly
The maverick doesnt have a cylinder aligned with the plunger as you prime, so i dont think there will be many problems with vaccum loading. You might have issues with the darts falling too far backing the barrel, though.
Thank you so much for this easy to follow guide been moding blasters for a bit but not the ubiquitous Mav funny enough. Mines having firing issues I may have put too much tape under the O-ring also think the rotation is hindered slightly by the plastic on top of the cylinder not being hammered in enough
I had this problem, for me it was that the ring was slipping at the catch, i fixed mine by removing one of the coins to reduce the pressure, and removing some of the lubricant that accumulated on the lower notch of the plunger, 3 years old comment but eh, might help someone in the future
okay, so i met with the same exact problem, the thing is, if your maverick is a little newer, maybe the lower pieces are glued to the rod, thats how mine were at least, honestly speaking, i tried to scrape off the glue, but to no avail, you just gotta do the "barrel falls over fully" part.
Aw man I followed lorddraconical's mod for this blaster and he didnt mention to add foam and I damaged my blaster and it broken it can prime and fire but it doesn't fire the dart
@@textmasters dude no joke I am 18 years old I couldn't get it in so I go to my dad he looks at it 30 seconds later he is like " I fixed your thing" lol even after all these years he still fixes my stuff after I have busted it.

Wish this video existed back when the maverick first came out I had to figure this all out on my own I didn't know what TH-cam was until 2009

I just got into modding, wanted something simple and new the maverick was the way to go. Didnt want anything complex and this was AMAZING! thank you!

Very thorough tutorial that will enable me to attempt my first mod. Thank you
Amazing video! Will definitely do most of the mods except for the penny one and just buy a stronger spring instead
Where did you end up finding a spring

Very nice professional videos :)

I had an issue where once i pulled the slide back, it got stuck and flung forwards making a loud sound, and idk why
I’ve had the Maverick for a long time but if I prime the gun and release the primer at the click it would shoot the gun is it broken?
?
no, as long you have any added materials in the spring chamber that would compress the spring then that would be why.
I had this problem, for me it was that the ring was slipping at the catch, i fixed mine by removing one of the coins to reduce the pressure, and removing some of the lubricant that accumulated on the lower notch of the plunger, 3 years old comment but eh, might help someone in the future
Beautiful, ty man
I use different darts and would the penny change how hard the top prime thing is to pull back?
Excelente amigo! Tal ves se puede cambiar resorte?
What should I do if when I pry the thing it doesn’t come off
Pry harder i guess

Good and helpful video
I know this is a old video, but can someone tell me if those mods work on similar/other nerf guns?
What is the same size as the tiny priming pin?
I used a different foam, so will it break?
Thanks bro
Aw man I followed lorddraconical's mod for this blaster and he didnt mention to add foam and I damaged my blaster and it broken it can prime and fire but it doesn't fire the dart
Inspect the plunger head, repair if possible, make sure that there is no leak due to a crack
the rod thingy wont pry out for me :(
Good for me I forgot how to put it back LOL
this goddamn metal rod WONT BUDGE this thing is made out of some alien metal bro how tf do you do this
Dude I can't put the cylinder the way it is supposed to go
hey man, currently doing this mod, the issue you're having is you flipped the cylinder on the wrong side, making it impossible to fit, hope i helped

If its thick enough it should be fine. I was concerned at first too but those things are pretty strong lol
