The west is not ignorant about China and the Chinese. More specifically, the Anglo-saxons’ resentment against China and the Chinese people is not about ideology, political system, human rights, etc. But it is all about race and the jealousy and fear of China becoming a stronger country and people than them. Even if China is more democratic than most western countries today, the Anglo-Saxons will still try to find faults with and suppress the Chinese people in every which ways because they know only the Chinese people can out compete the Anglo-Saxon race in all areas of humanity.

Clearly we will never be like the west, it’s just not in our Chinese sensibilities to commit such naked atrocities in the name of blatant greed and racial supremacy, that’s the exclusive realm of the Western Imperialist, hence why you are even able to fathom such grotesque thoughts
Whatever so called Nationalism which is currently taking shape in China now, is long overdue but far milder then what is actually desired to counter the west.

Okay the problem with this question is not the question itself, but the perspective of the person asking the question. From the start the question is being asked by someone who comes from a very different background and upbringing. One needs to understand and live through a Chinese household upbringing to even understand the threshold of "reppression". To simply put it best Ray Dalio, American billionaire and founder of the largest hedge fund in the world - Bridgewater Associates who spent over 30 years doing business and studying China, has said "The CPC is behaving like a strict parent" and anyone person who grew up in a Chinese home will understand this. Chinese parents are strict as hell, but ultimately they want what's best, and thus why Chinese kids excel academically and generally speaking study shows that Chinese families are one of the most successful families anywhere in the world. You call it repression, the Chinese do not see it as such because of how they are brought up.

Sure, there are people in the West who think positively about China, but their voice have been blocked in many manners, most people can never hear them.
"there is freedom of the press in the west"? it is exactly I think is NOT true. US spend U$ 300 million dollars a year to train journalists to spread mis and dis information about China, and this is the death of "free media" in the West. On the contrary, China media has been pro-West and critical of CCP for decades, especially social media, it is one of the most dynamic in the world, not only those cry out pushed the government to adjust many policies , also many incompetent officials, thousand of them, were disciplined due to the pressure from social media. So far, I haven' t seen any government in the west are responsive to its people in such degree. I didn't like China media before, but now, Western media totally failed me, and I found Chinese official media is much more objective in terms of news.
from my experience in recent year, Anglo-Saxon media really disgusted me when they are fabricating lies, smearing, slandering, demonizing other countries and cultures, not just China, but any country they don't like, including their own political opponents. I totally agree with Kishore about western media, especially Anglo media.

@@wyz9815 The term "Anglo Saxon" or "Western" media is very misleading because there are so many media companies throughout the West. Their opinions and reports are extremely diverse and often contradict each other! The CCP spends US$6 Billion annually on their propaganda which is mostly lies, fake statistics, half-truths and a constant stream of slanders against the US! The China media is tightly controlled by the CCP. So, nowadays, most people in the West do not take the China media seriously!
China's repeated threats to conquer Taiwan and the South China Sea, and China's territorial disputes with most of her neighbors and wolf warriors have made most Americans and Westerners wary of China! China did not behave like this during Deng Xiaopeng's administration! We are now getting more and more Uighurs coming forth about all the horrors of torture, organ sales and rape in the prisons of Xinjiang euphemistically known as "re-education" camps!
China's economic miracle was due to Deng opening up China to the West. Billions of dollars were invested in China by Western companies. These provided hundred of millions of Chinese with jobs as well as technology transfers to China! The CCP takes all the credit and says that Western corporations contributed NOTHING to China!
There is no demonising of China! On the contrary, its the CCP which demonizes the US, warns and threatens other smaller nations! Just look at how China treats little Lithuania!

Yes, and China has 1.4 billion people. It's ridiculous to criticise China for emitting more than the US when they have 4 times their population. A fairer comparison is to look at green house gas emissions per capita.
Base on that, the average American is actually responsible for twice as much as the average Chinese. In fact China is not even in the top 20 nations base on per capita emissions.
It's so insulting to hear Westerners driving big gas guzzling SUVs, living in their big houses with swimming pools criticising people from developing countries for not doing enough.
