    I'm just now getting back into yoga after having 2 babies. It's amazing how healing it is for me to finally start loving my body again. I'm not quite ready to start some of the more advanced stuff, but I love watching the flow. I'm happy with myself now but it's fun to see what the future can potentially hold if I just keep at it.

    I love this format so much! Usually people will post something similar with just the text on the video, as if I will remember it all in my flow 😅
    But your voiceover makes it so easy to follow along. Would love love love if you did more of these

    With so many poses in yoga, hundreds of them, I still wonder why the down dog is overused so much as in this example. Chaturanga that normally follows, too. Not so kind on the wrists or back so yesterday I decided I'll boycott these poses whenever they're overused and will do the flying warrior instead with pulses on the back leg, just smth I invented cuz it feels good 😏

    You're not doing yoga. You may be doing asanas, and vinyasanas, but the speed you are going at provides almost no benefit. Yoga is not about speed, but about pranayama, bandana, and mental focus.
    Thanks for butchering a 5000 yr old practice.

    • @CharlieFollows
      @CharlieFollows  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your observation, though I do find it misplaced. If you are basing your opinion on the speed of this video, it is for demonstration purposes. If I were to demonstrate at the pase of my breath we might be here for a while. As for your other comments I have to say I think it’s quite unfair to make such a judgement based on a short video which doesn’t demonstrate my beliefs or commitment to the practice. I urge you to please be less quick to judge people from what you see on social media.

    • @temporary7101
      @temporary7101 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Charlie Follows I did look at several of your videos. For example this one: th-cam.com/video/li2KLnKlfsc/w-d-xo.html.
      Now, you say it's a 40 min, full body flow, so it can't be sped up if it is a full 40 min session. You are moving too fast.
      1. You have no breath control, and thus no balance and movement control which forces your vinyasa to move too fast into asana.
      2. In several asanas, you are not staying long enough and using the associated bandanas to enable the flow of Prana.
      3. You do not properly align your spine in other poses, which prevents the prana from flowing along the spine and out to the nadis. This puts prana in the wrong places and can cause injury.
      4. You have trouble moving from low poses to high poses which tells me you don't have proper abdominal strength, and you appear to have a lower back injury and very tight arches.
      5. You tend to lean forward a lot which restricts the flow of prana from the top of the head to the perineum, thus does not feed the Chakras.
      6. You apparently have not been taught about chakras; you don't use bandanas.
      You move too fast, and do not sit in the asana. You are not using yoga for the benefit of yoga.
      I can go on, and on, and on.
      I don't know where you studied, and who certified you. This is not yoga.

    • @CharlieFollows
      @CharlieFollows  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello again I hear what you are saying and would like to give my take on the practice of asana.
      It is my understanding that asanas are designed to be uncomfortable. The twisting, bending and folding put the body in positions where we have to confront that discomfort and in turn confront ourselves.
      Through this we quiet the mental chatter and cultivate a deeper awareness of ourselves.
      My yoga might be fast, at times I may lose control of my breath and my anatomy may prevent me from perfecting postures but the benefits that I get help me calm my mind and focus my attention inward. To me this is yoga.
      I won't profess to know everything, but I can share what little I do know while building on the things I have yet to learn.

      Please, stay off TH-cam. If you’re only here to criticize online yogis and teachers, you’ll be typing for months. This is a free platform for self and creative expression. You’re not required a teaching license to post content on TH-cam. Not only is it a waste of time, but you provided absolutely no value to this person nor even yourself. I kindly ask that you channel your energy into a yoga teacher that you don’t despise.

    • @temporary7101
      @temporary7101 ปีที่แล้ว

      @meraleighqueener5053 she is not a yogi. A Yogi is an enlightened soul. A yogi uses yoga to control their body, and mind thus freeingthe soul to seek balance. What she is doing is random stretching without rhyme or reason, and making a quick buck on fallacy. She is not a yogi; she is a stretcher on TH-cam.
