@@youngadventuresaustralia952 it works for small businesses too. Anyone who advertised on Google, Facebook, Instagram TikTok. You name it, they have it.
@@ExposureNinja You don't have competitor ad spend. You have varying degrees of inaccurate estimates of competitor ad spend. The estimates might be directionally correct, in that one advertiser might be spending a lot more than another, but that usually doesn't require a tool to know. Not saying Semrush is a bad tool or isn't useful for some things, but don't bank on their ad spend estimates - they're consistently and significantly off.
It's not working. We tried spying on our competitors, who we are certain are doing Facebook advertising, but this app only finds one or two of them. I am sure they have been running ads for at least the last three years. By the way, I couldn't even find our own ads.

I know right! We've tested on a bunch of smaller companies and found good levels of insight. As with all these types of tools, the data is likely far more accurate for larger businesses though :)
sigh... it's not illegal because it's not accurate. it's based of models and samples of available data. Even if their models were perfect - which they aren't - slight errors in sampled data - which is *always* - can lead to increasingly divergent spend estimates. I've checked many of my own clients against Semrush data and have never found it to be within 40% of actual spend, usually way more off than that. There is useful collated data in there, and there's value in Semrush, don't get me wrong, but don't make the mistake of thinking Semrush's spend estimates are accurate - they're not.
Is it only for big names... just websites... or also for regular online-shops, as well??
It really depends on the size of the market you're in

It's not a spy tool. It doesn't have any insight into actual spend, only estimates based off of publicly available data. Semrush is pretty good at gathering and collating this kind of data, but it's always a sample and models can only do so much with samples of data.

No, you have to purchase this as an Add-on inside semrush under App Center. It is expensive and can range from $165 to $350 per month. Not sure if this works for Indian companies/brands.

I've just caught up with them basically...
The tool assesses ad impressions based on a large sample size human panel that AdClarity runs. They have an advanced expenditure algorithm which calculates the statistical share of impressions in each publisher website and audience engagement data coming from AdClarity's global panel.

You can actually use a free SEMrush account too, btw. There are loads of apps in the app centre that allow you to take free trials, even if you don't have a paid SEMrush plan

I think your campaign names are safe (luckily by the sound of it 😆) but it seems to know which ads belong in each campaign
