Although he will be competing with Kenny Pickett, Wilson should bring a dynamic the Steelers haven't seen since the team's legendary QB Ben Roethlisberger started to slow down late in his career.

Tomlin will welcome Wilson with open arms !! He is a winner and will be excited to build chemistry with the team in Pittsburgh ... As a fan I am looking forward to seeing how they put together their offense. On top of everything else it is a nice change of scenery to go from the West coast to the East coast with a stop in between so all in all it is a great opportunity and growing experience for their entire family. Lots of positive energy coming into that program. Steelers made the playoffs and having a leader like Russell Wilson behind the offense could have beaten any team. They actually won against Seattle so I can see how that would attract a competitive motivation to further build their team with Pittsburgh; I thought they were a top contender in the NFC and would have made it to the NFC Championship game from an outside looking in perspective. #3 is exactly what they need to become a world champion.

If you think Wilson is only good with a good running game and good defense. You haven't been paying attention at all LOL. One of his best seasons was when Seattle had a historically bad running game and a so so defense.

The Mike Tomlin dynamic has not worked in Pittsburgh since 2010. Russell Wilson is not going change that. But it will continue to give the sports (loves me some Mike Tomlin) talking heads something to endlessly discuss while the Steelers continue to be irrelevant.
Our defense carried us 10-7 with TERRIBLE qb play from 3 different people. He will make things better lol

This could work. Russ has Pickens and a reliable tight end in Muth. Add a running back and two young wideouts this offense has potential. If I’m Tomlin I’m drafting two linemen to protect Russ and getting a WR like worthy or rice

What a crock! RW would not have signed so quickly if he was not assured a starting job. Otherwise he would have waited to visit the Raiders, Minnesota or at worse just waited for the first QB injury. You can't tell me there aren't teams who could use a QB with those numbers. Forget all the noise about the perks he got when he signed with Denver. Those were taken away by Sean Peyton and not a peep from RW. He isn't stupid. That's why he wanted to sign with the Steelers. It fits his game. Sean Peyton wanted to make him fit into his ridiculous mold and it didn't work. They signed him on the cheap, because that's what he wanted. He wanted to stick it to the Broncos for his entire salary, less the vet minimum.
Since he's getting free money I see him underachieving. That's gonna be a tough division to play in.

QB in the power rankings in 2023, For the price and skill, it seems to make sense. The Steelers have an aging defense with Cam Heyward and TJ Watt. The window is closing and the need to try and win now. Winning cures all ills and although I’m not a Tomlin fan, I think he and Wilson will get along. Tomlin can deal with a prima donna for a year or two if Wilson can win.

He’s 100% better than Pickett I will say this but he’s not the solution. He’s merely buying the Steelers time to figure out their mess at QB we all saw coming when they kicked the can down the road with finding Ben’s replacement. Tomlin still wants to play boring football and win the turnover battle so don’t expect Russ to cook anything except a lot of the same from last year. Hopefully it will just be more points on the board but these games won’t be turning heads to say the Steelers are dynamic and able to beat KC, Buffalo, or probably even Miami.. not with Mike Tomlin. Is what it is.
I hate to see a potentially good QB go to the Steelers. I would have preferred Russel Wilson with the Falcons or something.

Geez, I feel apprehensive, I think Wilson is on the downward side of his career, and in Denver, the way he interacted with the team, to me, seemed like he was a prima-donna, "ie: a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance. modifier noun: prima-donna". You'd be better off bringing in Tom Brady, except I think he knows better than to try to keep going.
Kirk Cousins joined the Vikings who just came off a NFC Championship Game with Case Keenum as their QB… they missed the playoffs. Had Thielen, Diggs, Cook, and the 3rd ranked defense. Since that point they finished more seasons below .500 than seasons making the playoffs.
Putting a mediocre QB on a mediocre team will give you the same results… only at a higher cost. They’d do just as well with Kenny.
all RW numbers are top 10, last time i checked top 10 is higher than "mediocre" Mediocre would be on the 15s, and btw, all those seasons with Kirk they lost huge playmakers at defense, it takes more than an offense to win games, and by all means, their offense was great all those years, any vikings fan know their problems were related to a lack of defense more than anything.

Kyle’s a good optimist, Russel Wilson has awful last season. Hundreds of missed passes resolved with scrambling pirouettes, it was humiliating offense. Sean Payton knows what he’s doing, Wilson is not even a decent qb, just a circus performing Hail Mary specialist. Steelers getting hosed yo,1 & done in steel town, they will absolutely not put up with it.

It may simply be coincidental but Mike Tomlin is again extending his hand to help another "mistreated" black footballer; it was Brian Flores a couple of years ago being let go by the Dolphins and now RW by the Broncos.
