I found a review of this combiner made by one of those korean silent reviewers, and there i saw that it's possible to add the phoenix without the unicorn but it's also harder to do so
I believe the "unicorn" is Si, the one horned cow. Tend to look very similar to that of rhino or a cow with one horn depicted by the ancient Chinese. An imaginary animal that lives in river and tend to swim really fast under the water. They are very weak on land so they usually encourage fighting inside the river rather than on land or muddy ones.
This seems like it can’t quite make up its mind if it wants to be a transformer or a mega zord set. It seems cool though, although it could have maybe done with a few more rounds in the R&D department
Regarding the blue one, sure DOTM LAserbeak got a lot of extra weight after losing his job and master... While the pink one looks like it came out of Sousei no Aquarion.

The Pink Chinese Phoenix Mecha is called "Fenghuang" and is My #1 Favorite Chinese Mythical Beast out of all of the Chinese Mythical Beasts. Yellow is Quilin. Hi baltmatrix, I have not subscribed to your channel yet but watched your videos and think there great, I also have this set as well so I know what you went through as well and I think it’s a great set, if you want try looking for the oversized diecast version to compare the two you can as well. Also I wanna know one thing, is the ultra Dino force combiner that great because I plan on getting that too, let me know ok.
Am I the only one who thinks that the logo on the red tank looks loosely like the bowser logo? I will say these definitely look better than the, I think first set you did, that set, all of them looked terrible except the train, the train is probably the only one of the set I would go out of my way to buy, but it seems they are getting better which is nice. enjoyed the review, always enjoy the sirtoys finds.

pixelman619 No, no, no. The giraffe is called kirin in Japanese as a pretext to tell the public, the government, and the emperor that the animal is special. The actual Qirin is a completely different animal.
The kirin is the Japanese version of the Chinese qilin. The qilin has the body of a deer, the tail of an ox, the legs and hooves of a horse, and a head similar to a dragon with a horn that slopes backwards coming from their foreheads. A kirin is like a qilin, but more draconic, with two horns that come from the back of it's head and clawed feet. The word kirin eventually came to be used to mean giraffe, just as the yo-kai the baku came to have it's name used to mean tapir.
Glad you got this one over the S3 set, I also personally love this over the predecessors except the S1 remake. The S3 has some play value, but my complaint is blue's unit is completely neglected due to the combinations involved in the set.
I would leave the unicorn out completely. Putting the dragon sword in his left hand and having a rotor shield on his right arm as a defensive and offensive weapon and the tank turret at his left arm as a distance weapon. No need for a buster sword.

Hey Balt, you actually haven't done the one from S1. Both of the ones you've done before were from S2 of the tokosatsu series "Shen Shou Jin Gang" (I believe that's how you spell it, but don't quote me on that). I've seen it translated as "Celestial Warriors" if that helps (also seen it translated as "The Animal that King Kong," which makes me laugh) I can't attest to the quality of the show since I can't find subs. The ones from season 1 are basically just knockoffs of the original megazord but done up as a Kirin and the Chinese four symbols, and the dragonzord but done as this odd gorilla/garuda/bucktooth bever thing (I'll be honest I have no idea what it's supposed to be). The original was a 1-1 retool, but they did do an updated re release a couple years back that's a lot more uniquely designed and generally just better (I think it was either for a movie or a short chunk of season 2...again, I can't really watch the show) Though watch which version you get, as every season seems to have multiple releases that range in quality. (Even this one has an update that does look a lot better. General rule of thumb I find is if it's listing says it contains "Die-Cast" it's usually the best version) As for S3... it ain't bad. Not spectacular or anything, but not too bad. The basic set is fine, but I do recommend tracking down the 6th ranger's Pegasus if you plan on getting it since they were really designed to go together. Just be careful of which version you get as the size and quality varies (to tell them apart: on decent version the whale actually covers up the hip joints from a prior combo so they're not sticking up over the head during megazord mode, and the Pegasus has white legs and an actual head it's centaur mode) That's all I've been able to decrypt about this franchise so far. Not sure if any of this was actually useful, but hope it helps! (Also if I got anything wrong, please let me know. Gathering information on this franchise is a bit of a pain in the butt if you don't speak the language...)

the theme reminds me of the Mythical Chi Beasts, the mecha of Gosei Sentai Dairanger which is also themed after Chinese mythology.

acutally if you think about it a little...i see serpenterra from power rangers in the dragon. the rotors also emphasize it a little
