    I had one of these talks all alone, pretending Julien was grilling me. It was the realest conversation I've ever had. Even alone, there was resistance and a facade, but after chipping away, I ended up in tears. I wanted someone to be there with me, but I held myself and it was the first time I ever showed love to myself. Thanks Julien for keeping it real.

I'm not even finishing one, AND AM ALREADY TWO PAGES IN, MY HAND FXKING HURTS. But I'm loving and nurturing every second of it. Thank you Julien and everyone for welcoming me to this space. ❤️

    I agree that we need to break out of our shells but I don’t agree that EVERYONE should be extroverted 24/7. Most times I just don’t really enjoy talking to people because no one ever has anything in common with me. I’m way too different than most. I’ve met countless people and they’re all the same old bullshit just copying one another… That’s why I usually prefer to be to myself. Doesn’t mean I’m not honest and blunt and constantly being myself though!!!

    My fear when I’m speaking up and loudly in front of people is that I’ll forget what I’m trying to say or stutter and make a fool out of myself. I know it’s as easy as just letting go of that fear and most of the time I speak fine in those situations, but the handful of times I’ve actually stuttered bad or froze up have scared me away from putting myself in those situations intentionally. Not sure how to fully let go of this fear

    For me, I remember as a child being shamed for speaking my weird and goofy thoughts. I was told to stop talking and quit being weird. By both adults and my peers, this was probably 3rd/4th grade. It still affects me til this day. Like the client in this video says, you are tough, Julien! Sometimes that’s what people need, though.

    • @dcgreatman
      @dcgreatman ปีที่แล้ว +12

      It's true that everyone has different personalities, but the point is you should have the *ability* to be as loud as you want without the thought of yelling and getting noticed paralyzing you... not that you should actually be loud 24/7

    • @dxfifa
      @dxfifa ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The thing he's trying to get across is you should be confident to express yourself however you want whenever you want (within reason). Most people aren't quiet because they're a strong silent type who chooses not to use their confidence to speak, but when they do, they demand respect and command the room, that is one of the rarest types of person. 99% of people are fearful and guarded in most social contexts. The most delusional people are those who think they're naturally a quiet and shy person. NOBODY is, you just don't value yourself enough. Children are never quiet and shy unless they're anxious and feel unworthy, adults are exactly the same. even worse than quiet and shy, is being inexpressive too

    • @gravity00x
      @gravity00x ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@dcgreatman thats not his point. he set the frame as in being confident and content with yourself while being quiet as negative. he pressured the guy and coerced him into saying things that fit juliens narrative. if ure young and impressionable that works really well. but by any logical standards that anyone else might hold julien to, some of his shit is just absurd.

    • @gravity00x
      @gravity00x ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dxfifa no, julien is literally selling his bs of "introverts dont exist" and are merely little pussies who are afraid to speak up. He belittels those kind of people when he uses that word. bitch if they want to recharge their energy because being around people drains them, so be it. there is nothing shameful about that. julien should be ashamed for even establishing that frame of reference in the first place.

    • @JulienHimself
      @JulienHimself  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Not necessarily... The difference between quiet people who are charismatic and quiet people who aren't, is that those who are charismatic CHOOSE to be quiet (and could easily be loud at any moment) and those who aren't charismatic are quiet out of reaction (they're afraid to be loud).

    • @monio.9444

      @@JulienHimself Ah I see. I was wondering because even when I was a kid, i didn't talk much, unless I really had something to say or wanted to talk about something I was really passionate about. Then I couldn't be made to shut up 😆 But otherwise I was mostly quiet because that was just my natural state, I guess I just liked thinking, I liked listening and observing things. Admitedly, now, as an adult, I feel shy if I have to talk to ignorant people who would missinterpret my words or actions. So in my view, what turns my charisma on is when I feel passionate about something. Now usually when I am quiet, I've been told I look intimidating. Even tho I am 160 cm tall and skinny and have a ingenue face. And I never thought I would seem intimidating to anyone. I find that fascinating.
