    The hole all the way through the tooth would be to run a wire through them to connect them to other teeth the hole in the top would be to connect it to a wooden mouth frame. George Washington’s false teeth were made that way.

      I remember when a was a little girl and seeing in a magazine a picture of George Washington's false teeth and wanting so bad to see them up close and personal because it was such an odd surreal thing to think about.

    The tiny clay pipe could have been an advertisement for larger pipes, when salesmen took their wares to stores to get orders. Travelling salesmen had a lot of their wares in miniatures in the Victorian and Edwardian era.

    I think your husband was right that it could be an opium pipe... because the amount smoked was very small. I also think it is Atlas! A very cool find!

    I'm not sure I told you yet but I'm formerly Laura Furches. I started my own channel about scraplife and my adventures treasure hunting as well as scraping metals for extra money. It also will feature my twins robotics stuff and working on stuff. When I saw you (Fleur) pick up the cherub pottery shard, I thought mudmas craft. Then Kate found the boy with a winter cap on. Mudmas craft, you both also found some other pieces that will make great Mudmas ornaments. What a wonderful video. I always love it when the who family is involved in the making of the video but this one I could feel your excitement and the specialness of being out there after such a long time. so glad you got to find some whole things and some very special things like the tiniest pipe ever. even if it is a toy, it's terrific. I also loved your Easter craft rebuild of the rabbit. Clever use of the pipe and stems to make basket and carrots. I collect Easter figurnes. I love clever use of materials to make things like carrots or whatever. Brilliant! Cheers from North Carolina!

    i almost cried when your mom didnt even look at the torpedo bottle to see if it was whole...but i love love the little pipe she found that is the best thing ever!!!!!i think the tooth may have been for a bridge where you clip them to the teeth next to them to hide a missing tooth and you can pop it out and clean it my dad has one now honestly. if you dont know ask your mom to tell you about a bridge for your teeth.

  • @Fees-Shed

    Re small pipe - it’s Atlas
    Atlas, in Greek mythology, son of the Titan Iapetus and the Oceanid Clymene (or Asia) and brother of Prometheus (creator of humankind). In Homer's Odyssey, Book I, Atlas seems to have been a marine creature who supported the pillars that held heaven and earth apart
    👍🏻

    • @Fees-Shed
      @Fees-Shed 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MudlarkingWithKitCaboodlers he gets mixed up with Hercules (who had legs) because Hercules tricked atlas into holding up the earth (some translation say heavens or sky not world) whilst he got some padding for his shoulders. Then Hercules left him to it. The Atlantic Ocean is named after him, it was know originally as the Atlas Sea. 👍🏻

    • @herewegoagain3360
      @herewegoagain3360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds good, I thought it might be Oceanus. He was depicted by Greeks and Romans as a muscular torso man with serpents body.
      Oceanus and Atlas are tasked with guiding celestial bodies, planets, etc.
      I have no idea how that would date the pipe.
      Really enjoy your videos, thank you all.

    I’ve done some research and, maybe someone has already said this, but the small clay pipe could very well have been a child’s toy pipe for bubbles. They did make them for many years, later glazing them and using them as prizes in crackerjacks. I asked my father who is 93, and he said his father had a pipe very similar to yours, from his childhood in Ireland.

    What a Wonderful video for families to watch together on this holiday. Such a treat. This is my very Favorite beach Mudlark Ever, as of yet anyway. : ) Well Done! Would that I were there. For now, Thanks to you Fine Ladies and the rest of the Caboodler Family, that we can all be there virtually. Folklores be as they may, It really looks as if you have happened upon the scattered remains of a 'wee ones' village. Fleur, I put my magnifier to the tiny pipe and there are an (extreme amount of details) carved into it, so I'm not leaning toward the toy idea. It's a real mystery and one which I hope you keep us informed on as you find out more. I'm so excited for all your wonderful finds. Fleur, perhaps try attaching the two rat pipe pieces together with wax. No harm, no foul. Hmm? At the 3 : 47 time stamp, when Kate spotted the faceless head, I was freaking out, thinking that was a terra cotta clay pipe bowl, upper left? Also at 11 : 40 when Kate found the German marble, there seemed to be some very interesting items, including a piece of pottery that would make a sweet planter for the doll's home. Much Love and Many Blessings to You and Yours, from Nance the Nor Cali Gal.
