- Whenever people talk about “80’s poster cars”,, naturally they refer to the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari Testarossa. However, one very iconic 80’s car that is often forgotten in this context is the Ferrari 308. The first contemporary “entry model” by Ferrari during the flamboyant 80’s made the 308 popular both on the streets and on movie screens around the world. Like the Testarossa with Miami Vice, the 308 also had its own popular police TV show, Magnum P.I.
Being the genesis of the Ferrari mid-engine V8 line up that remains extremely successful today, the 308 was a significant model in Ferrari’s history. Watch and learn about the evolution of this extraordinary model of V8 mid-engined Ferrari.

How tall are you? The average height for an adult male is 5' 9.3". The Italians don't make cars for above-average men in weight and height.
5'8, so just under average hence I fit!

My '77 only has one Vitaloni side mirror and the yellow horn button has a silver ring.otherwise its identical.Is this also Rossi Chiaro? For info they made only 211 rhd steel carb cars and 155 Vetro rhd..edit I have original 7.5 wheels
the mysterious trait of having only one cut out on that rear exhaust apron is because that car originally came with a single tail pipe exhaust, so not a twin tail pipe exhaust which is after market. Those wheels are actually quite desirable and were made by a company in England called Compomotive and they are obviously based on the style of wheels on a 288 GTO, they have a faux centre lock bolt which is simply a cover held on with an allen bolt , that hides the wheel nuts, so it looks like a centre lock wheel. I have a set of those exact wheels at size 17 inch on my car, I prefer them to the original style, Compomotive don't manufacture them anymore, I think they suit a 308 and are a nod to its big brother, the 288 GTO.
I would've though only the earliest 308's had single tail pipes and by 1981 they were quad? Agree on the wheels, not original but I like the look of it!
@@Instacarhk all the two valve carb cars had a single cut out for the exhaust from factory, the single side tail pipe exhaust system was standard right up till 1980/81, the four valve injection cars had two cut outs for a twin exhaust, a twin tail pipe ( quad) exhaust on a carb car has become standard because owners almost always replace the original single side exhaust with twin ( quad) pipe, my 1978 car had a single tail pipe and single cut out when I bought it 20 years ago, the first thing I did was replace the exhaust with a twin tail pipe, I didn't bother to modify that rear apron , I think it looks fine as does the car you are driving in the clip. You can still buy a single side tail pipe exhaust for a 308 GTS/GTB, Quicksilver make a very good one and actually they look and sound pretty good too!

@@Instacarhk the early cars were also standard dry sump, as seen in your engine, like the single exhaust mentioned, also to be replaced by the more conventional wet sump in later builds.
It was the fourth mid engined Ferrari actually. The 246 Dino, 308 Gt4 Dino, the 365BB and then the 308GTB.
It's the second "2 seater" sports car made by Ferrari with a mid engine that has "less than 12 cylinders", as said in the video. The GT4 (which was also mentioned in the video) has 4 seats and the 365BB has 12-cylinders, so neither can be compared with the Ferrari branded V8 mid- engine line up started with the 308 which continues today with the F8 Tributo :)
No wonder Tom Selleck used the GTS the head room is so low for a tall guy like him
