Tekken seems to be drawing a lot from the live-action movie as of late. Case in point, Kazuya making the tournament fights be to the death.
And T8 characters use weapons more than the rest of the series. Funny that hardcore lore fans criticized some of the very "inaccuracies" in this movie that ended up in the real game
Yoshimitsu (back back square) was how you’d use the sword. Drops 75% of their health.
DOA: Dead or Alive was a ton of fun. I'd put it up there with Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat as "dumb, but fun" video game adaptations.

As far as Tekken films go, I only saw the first anime one when I was a kid, but I still love it. Heihachi chomping down on Julia's hatchet is the stuff of legends, and Nina trying to assassinate Kazuya while "Save Yourself" by Stabbing Westward is playing was great.
The first District 13 was alright, hated the sequels myself.
Gary Daniels was the live action Fist of the North Star.
I will admit that Tekken, along with DOA, are guilty pleasure movies that I don't mind watching every now and then. They are mindless fun popcorn flicks that entertain with being aware that there are definitely no awards headed their way (except a Razzie or two). Good video!

Back in the Myspace days, I talked with the executive producer of Tekken 2, Pearry Tao. He had made a great short fanfilm/movie pitch beforehand and was very passionate about it, even when I was blasting the first film. I had left Myspace by the time 2 came out so I didn't have to blast that one to him as well

I assumed it was a reference to the Nickelodeon cartoon, which I've never watched. You could tell me "you know what, forget it" was his catch phrase, and I'd take your word for it.

I actually had fun watching this movie. Seeing Gary Daniels being a badass, And Cung Lee is always a great fighter as well.
And FINALLY someone uses "underappreciated" and not the other over used that are pointless.
Luke Goss is always fun to watch as well.
I always enjoyed this film period.Also I felt the actress they got to play Christy Montero looks a little like Natasha Henstridge from "Maximum Risk" did when her hair was red😍😍. Anywho another awesome installment Cecil👍👍
Bryan Fury is actually a failed cyborg who likes to fight so they pretty much kept him the same. All the Jacks are robots. Also if this came out in 2009 the most recent Tekken would be Tekken 6? Weird how they set up Jin with Christie when shes basically Eddies friend and since Jin was always teased to be with Xiaoyu. The flash back things are kinda being true to source since im pretty sure Jin has a couple rough fights, remembers something Jun says, and then wins in the end becasue hes a big mommas boy.
...but the he fact Kazuya and Heihachi are on speaking terms/working together yeah the story is a mess lol.
This looks like the sequel to Pamela Anderson's Barbwire 😂

Haha well done, you almost got me with the Amazon joke, I agree that overall this is not a bad film and does do good fan service but can have done better. Its nowhere near as bad at the KING OF FIGHTERS film and the DOA surprisingly was accurate too, it gave us attractive women fighters lol. Haven't seen the prequel but not holding my breath for it either. Another great review!

I never played Tekken, but I do remember Dead Or Alive quite well. Funny how playing DOA makes you forget about other games at the time😉
Great job on the episode, Cecil. I will check the film out. Dwight H. Little has also given us some great action horrors like "Halloween 4" and "Wheels Of Terror". Only Little would include an entire gas station exploding in a Halloween sequel.

Updating my comment just to say: Even though I love the Tekken games, I never had any intentions to watch this movie and after watching Cecil's video, I hate the movie even more. Apart from Jun, they literally made every character unlikeable and unrelatable.

Considering how much shit this film went trough to get made, at some point they had Jackie Chan and Jet Lee attached to the project, before the studio to slash the budget for more than 50% and both dropped out, its a miracle the film was made at all. It definitely deserves its own exploring vid.

I never bothered with the Tekken films as they went straight to the dvd bargain bin . I was never a big fan of the games Soul blade was my bag so really wasn't fussed

I agree with Cecil regarding the fight scenes, these shoupd have been taken via wide shot so that we can see the entire action choreography.
Scott Adkins and several martial arts superstars have been trying to disregard shaky cams and edited fight scenes in their own movies.
Jack was a Robot. Bryan Fury did have cybernetic enhancements in the game.
