    Great video, helped me do mine. My 4 year old 208 with 55,000 miles on it needed new discs and pads. The T55 torx bolts were VERY tight. I had to borrow a very long breaker bar from a mechanic friend and even then twisted one drive bit rather than turn the bolt. Other than that, it's a doddle.

    One of the cleanest videos I've seen. It has give me the confidence to try and do the brakes myself next time. I have the peugeot 208 gti. I am guessing it is the same procedure. Cheers

    Really informative video. Would this be the same process for the 2008 seeing as though it's the same chassis? Asking for a friend 😂

    Excellent video simple and informative. One word to the wise from an editing perspective. The music is very loud compared to the rest of the audio when I've got it cranked up to hear you, then you throw the music on nearly burst my ear drum! Try to adjust the level the music comes in at so its more consistent but other than that love it

    Thank you very much for this video, really helped a lot, I recently bought a 208 and I’m looking forward to catch an eye on it’s brakes. Had a look at the tools needed, so thank you very much

    Are the discs and pads the same for a 2008 ? Also do the rear brakes on a 2008 come with the wheel bearing as part of the disc ?

    Hi,
    That was a great video, to replace the rear pads and discs on the 208 is it generally the same process?
    Thanks,
    James

      @hayquedecirlo.podcast 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If its the same to a 2008, they are not the same process. The rear disc came out with a 36mm tool and the caliper come out with a torx 45. At the piston, you must have a
      special push and spin tool. It was a very hard work whitout that tool. Sorry my English

    Over here pads come with clips so theyre no reused. In fact reuse usually leads to brake noise which means a rework. Where I am theres so much road salt reuse isnt an option. Did your set come with clips or is that an extra order item there?

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jim Goddard Hi Jim, these particular brake pads were a budget brand as the customer said they needed to keep the cost down. The better brands come with new hardware to fit. Thanks for watching.

    hi im going to change my rear brake disks on my citroen c4 grand picasso 1.6 vvti on purchasing the parts i choose brembo at euro car parts very good price but i noticed the the wheel bearings are built in to the disks them self which i thought is very stange because of the heat build up that could couse the bearings to fail wht would be the proper torq spec to tighten them up and whts your thoght on the way these are designed thanks your vids are very in depth thanks again

    • @OneAuto

    Does the Pergoet 208 have break calipar covers? Because mine builds up breaks dust very quickly.

    • @ryantaylor1559
      @ryantaylor1559 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brake cleaner spray is what you need caliper covers dont exist as its pointless trying to prevent brake dust spreading, also plastic or thin metal covers would melt and obstruct sliding movement of the caliper

    Im sure if you keep making as good videos as these on different repair jobs you will soon attract a lot of advertising revenue and be able to give up car repairs and turn your workshop into a car repair studio. Does that appeal or would you miss the seized and stripped bolts, skint knuckles and meeting the public? :-)

    also how easy is it to replace the hardwear on the front discs as my pads came with the metal clips. ..cheers

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Cadby They are just a tight push fit onto the carrier. Clean underneath up and clip on new ones. Always better to do but this customer wanted budget brand pads.

  • @hardworker8030
    @hardworker8030 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was checking my cars suspension yesterday and it looks like someone have messed with the front brakes before as the 2 passenger side brake disc's retaining screws are missing and on the drivers side the 2 brake disc's retaining screws look like they have snapped off and stuck in the hub. When I change the disc's and pads how would you remove the retaining screws and what brand disc's and pads would you use. My local motor factors sells apec brakes which I want to avoid from past experience so the other brand they sell is quinton hazel which would cost £61 for disc's and pads.

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remove the screws with a left hand drill bit and extractor. I would stay away from Apec and Quinton Hazell as I've had Discs warp within months. GSF are doing a good range of Bendix brakes right now. Try the dealers for price, sometimes they surprise you

    • @hardworker8030
      @hardworker8030 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      GSF don't have bendix in stock and if they did they want to know if the vehicle production country was in japan or france. We don't have a local Toyota dealer but online they want £86. I was also thinking of buying buying pagid as some of the Toyota pads are stamped pagid or textar. I've never heard of a left hand drill bit so could you recommend one and what extractor to buy.

    What did you torque the carrier & caliper bolts up to?

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Big_Gooch The carrier to hub was 105Nm so about the same as the road wheels. The calliper to carrier is 30Nm so a firm hand tight.
