kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
Thanks!
Work of art these videos!
High praise! Thanks so much, just a 1 person production team so glad the work is showing in the end result!
I really enjoy your videos. Just a minor point but your assertion that you are very happy with used camera gear purchased in Tokyo is spot on. There are so many places to buy gear in great shape and well cared for, and at reasonable prices. MAP camera in Shinjuku comes to mind but there are many stores to choose from.
I assume that your camera gear is all being transported as carry on luggage? Perhaps I missed that point in your video. Tokyo is my favourite city to visit.
Thanks for watching! Yes Map camera is exactly where I went to get camera 4. Carry on luggage only for camera gear, I’ve seen what they do to luggage in any country not named Japan lol. More to come soon!
I‘m very curious about your experience with the Nikon 1.8 primes. Unfortunately they don’t attract me because of there size for the Zf and that’s why I stick with the 40mm and 28mm SE versions.
Also can’t wait for your Japan video and camera reveal. My wild guess is a Leica camera. Although think I’m wrong I say it’s a Leica M analog (M6?) 😀
Btw I had that instax in my hands this week. I will also buy this for my daughters when they get a bit older 😁
Long story short all the F1.8 primes are great! Lots of sample photos from Tokyo coming up. I thought instax was a scam until I tried it lol - now I am hooked. Thanks for watching, camera reveal next week!
Nice video, as always.I am curious to hear your opinion on the z40 as walk around lens compared to 35 or 50.
Thanks for watching! The Z40 is a great walk around lens, not as sharp up close and some CA and fringing, but autofocus is as fast (faster?) than the 35 or 50. I used it way more than I thought I would on the trip so far - will make a full video review later this month.
Great video Jack, keep them coming. What lens hood is that you have on the Nikon Z 40mm?
Thanks for watching! It is this lens hood from Haoge: amzn.to/440gcqv Super tough, made of similar metal finish to the Zf body. Looks very cohesive.
Excited to see what you do with the Nikon out there. I'd be interested to see if the 40 comes off the camera as much as you'd thought. Have you any interest in the special edition 28 also?
I feel the fear of faulty gear on holiday too. The wife and I did a gap year SEA trip a few years back. I was a couple months in at Ankor Wat on a three day pass and my only wide: 28mm stopped wanting to auto focus. It eventually came back into action 8 months later, but by then I had most of my trip shot on the 55mm at the widest. I managed to adapt and still get some great shots, but my trust was shaken.
I have heard great things about the 28 SE! Sadly I am not a 28mm shooter, at least not yet. 35mm is as wide as I’d like to go, and even then it’s a bit of a constant struggle. The gear I have brought is doing great so far on the trip - only one camera and one lens in the bag every day. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Great video Jack, but your chapter markers are still labeled from your previous video. Can’t wait to see the Japan content.
Hey thanks so much! Now fixed. I will have a stern word with the editor (also me lol) for missing this. Editing next video late at night in my Tokyo hotel now
Hmmm, between trusting a used camera from Japan and M-mount lenses......I'm thinking it's a classic M6!
First time commenting, but I've watched just about all of your videos. Really appreciating your systematic approach to the "whys" and not as much about the "hows". Keep up the good work!
Hey thanks so much! That’s a great guess, I’ve been shooting non stop with the camera since picking it up a few days ago. More content coming soon!
Just got pilot 7L and now thinking about 3.5L. Could it fit a sony body and 2 gm prime?
Depends on your Sony body? a7C line and 35 and 50mm GM no problem
Can you give us a clue about the 4th camera? 😁
also, where did you order your secondhand camera? will it be on the next video?
Thanks for watching! The clue for the 4th camera is that I don’t need it lol, it has a very specific use case. I got it from Map camera! More in the next video.
I'm curious now about what's the 4th camera. What's gonna be there in Japan? Job related or personal matters? All the best, Jack
A bit of both! Will do my best to go out shooting as much as possible - thanks for watching, more videos coming up with lots more Japan inspiration
I’ll have to guess, the mystery camera is a Sony RX1r or ii.
Great guess and thanks for watching! The reveal is in this week’s video:

Have a great trip, Jack. Whatever it is you buy will be well-researched and interesting.. I tend to be drawn to Fujiya Camera in Nakano like a magnet whenever I go there. (There's all the "usual suspects" as far as cameras stores in Ginza and Shinjuku, but the one in Nakano is really well-stocked, I think).
I have not yet checked out Nakano! Will try to drag my daughter along if she is willing lol. Thanks for watching, lots of Japan content coming!
@@BokehTherapy after seven trips, it's my go-to every time.
Amazing - I am in Shinjuku now so need to do the tour of all the big players first. Do you travel around much when you visit Japan or stay near the big cities?
Talk about why overkill on equipment/bags. Can't wait for the inevitable 'I can't believe I used to carry all this gear!' video...
Haha it’s cyclical of course. Just came back from the trip, and it was quite manageable as long as it was one camera one lens each day out. Lots more content coming, thanks for watching!
@@BokehTherapy I guess a cycle that we all go through... I remember going on a trip fearing if I didn't have every millimetre from 16-600mm covered by a lens/camera combo...
Haha 600mm! I haven’t taken a plunge on a 70-200, I just don’t get consistent results on zooms that I like.
@@BokehTherapy The Sony 70-200mm GM ii is the best lens I've ever used, well worth a look
… and there it is. The affirmation I needed to go down that rabbit hole!
En el momento en que vi el bolso kislux , supe que tenía que tenerlo.
Thanks for watching! These are great functional but stylish bags
Your video has made me appreciate the little joys in life. Thank you for that!
You are so kind - thanks for watching and commenting
This is just a 7:49 advertise of camera bags.
Not a sponsored video but Wotancraft sent some bags for me to test out for this video (as disclosed at the start). Thanks for watching
RX100r mk2 is my guess
It’s a great camera - would have to deal with all the menus in Japanese I think lol. It’s been a while Phill, hope you’re well!
@@BokehTherapy I’m great thanks - hope you are too!
Great to hear - I’m finding lots of inspiration here in Tokyo now. Will share my work as I go, starting next week!
a challenge : only shoot using 1 camera and 1 prime lens on next travel
I would love that - think I would go with a 50mm! What lens would you pick for the challenge?
50mm sounds good too, I would take my locely 35mm
It always comes back to those 2 for me as well. What’s your go to 35mm lens?
@@BokehTherapy so far I only have experienced with sony 35mm.. Lightweight is the best for street imo... would be interesting if you do make it as a video!
Just returned from Japan with just Q2. Very liberating and I still come back with tons of great photos. Ok, I did buy OM1 and 2 lenses (this was planned) while I was there and used these for 1 full day each. But the rest of the days just Q2.
Ricoh GR
Great camera! I owned the GRIIIX but it broke on me, don’t have a replacement yet for a digital GRIIIX. Thanks for watching!
So.... you did find an x100!!!! I'll bet the F
I wish! It is made out of unobtainium for the moment, what a crazy situation we are all stuck in. Reveal’s next week!
Unobtainium 😂!!! Where would it go in the periodic table?
Looking forward for it!
Haha it would be hiding in plain sight I’m sure
Its obviously clear your 4th camera is your phone😂
lol yes, technically 5 cameras then!
