I did a top 10 list. Couple big ones I think people will benefit from are: - Take a break if you are on a losing streak. Some of my worst days is when I start 0-3 and try to grind it out. Just take a couple hour break to mentally reset. - Don't stress, it's just GBL. Way more important things in life than a subset of a game where the focus is to catch animals/monsters.
Tip 5 is extremely important , i started playing pogo last year so i thought i have to battle a lot to get to higher ranks , I battled over 1500 battles and only somehow managed to reach ace
@@robertlalexander4083 yeah , I started last year so for me not having a lot of meta pokemons was also one of the reason. As my rank drops a lot during master league.
Fellow first season Ace here. Was running Galvantula-Politoed-Serperior for most of the season so A-Marowak/G-Stunfisk/Altaria/Bastiodon destroyed me. Between splitting Stardust to build Gym Attackers and literally just missing Azu/Skarm/Shieldon raids as I started Pogo, it's been rough. Having fast chargers and fundamentals from playing on Smogon (type matchups, guessing bulky/frail Pokémon etc) helped a lot in the early ranks. Despite the tilt advice I still feel like I gotta complete my sets to get the Stardust, plus more chances to get meta Pokémon from the reward pool. It's not all bad. Edit: Highest I got was 2190, the last 2 days of open GBL were brutal and lost me 200 rating alone lol. Ended at 1930 :P
is also what transform a game of pokemon into a game of chess. can't understand how is fun to play while counting everything but i know, that's me. i would like to try to be very competitive and reach legend at least one time but counting moves seems making everything so boring that i'm not willing to. i'm guess i'll stuck to my 2500 or something.
@@alessandromalvasi7768 I just realised that this season. The major reasons for my failure was shielding bait moves because I wasn't counting properly and swapping at the wrong time. Now I have trained myself to even count lock ons and dragon breaths. Swapping at the right time to catch moves on a pokemon with 1hp gives you the most amazing feeling and satisfaction 😂
Thanks for the awesome tips. Just to add a personal experience, learning how to count fast moves is something that we can't learn over night and players like yourself have learnt over time and new players shouldn't be hard on themselves that they didn't see the move coming just because the opponent was using a fast energy generating move rather than a higher damage inducing one. It took me a season or two to understand this and I hope new players will also learn these small details over time.
This one is it! I try not to be too hard on myself for not knowing all the moves and timing when I’ve only been playing a little over three months. They have years advantage over me!
these vids are always more helpful than top 5 teams, so well done! having reached legend in seasons 6,7 and 2970s in season 4, i can tell you firsthand that you can’t copy/pasta teams and expect to win, but you can copy/pasta these tips and expect to win
You’re my favorite content provider. Since I started playing as a newbie in season 7 and slowly got to hold my own in season 8, I find your channel a great toolkit for me. Some of your videos i watched over 5-6x just to learn your sequence and logic behind your moves. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much for your advices about the GBL Mr. ZyoniK! Nowadays I do not play all 25 games during a day. I only play until I lose 2 consecutive games and then I might play later in the day until I lose 2 consecutive games again. I managed getting back to above 2000 in rating in the Master League Classic with that tactic. The strategy is "We improve the rating in the GBL". The strategy made me play 4 out 5 sets in an evening in the middle of the week. It is also made me play very few games during weekends. You are a legend! 🏆
Same. That's why I quit gbl a long time ago before I came back. I would just rage so hard because I didn't have access to things like regi, altaria, or azumarill back when they were the big thing.
Funny tilt story, this season I had two full sets of hard counters. Decided to give up, put 10cp Pokémon on my team and tanked my elo. Ended up hitting legend later that season
Been watching you for a long time now, I just can’t stand to watch the other go battle trainers I don’t know why, there’s something special about the way you commentate the battles, and when you laugh I laugh, been with you since like 20k subscribers, and I wanna congratulate you early on 100k thank you for making my nights when I come from work more fun, thank you for making such good content to give me something to look forward to on TH-cam, so much that your the first channel I click when I open the app, thank you zyonik.
Two tips I just learned from this video: Build your team based off of what you're seeing, and take a break if your first two sets were sub .500. I finished season 7 as a Veteran rank for my first time ever, and I'm ready to hit Legend this season!
@@kyle9513 So far I've still never gotten past Veteran rank. Maybe my fault is that I play while listening to shows on Hulu, so I'm not fully concentrating and taking notice of how to adapt.
Thanks bro for advice your are first gbl content creator who inspired me to do some gbl battles season 7 rank 20 hopefully season 8 I am going going far to ace
Thank you so much for the tips! I always have a hard time battling in the go league. Out of all the seasons, the highest rank I had was 14. Hopefully, I get past 14 this season.
I just want to say thank to you Zyonik. This was my first season of playing go battle league and by watching your videos I got to ace league. I never would've been able to do it due to me being only level 35, but it was made possible by your videos. You're a legend, pls keep making videos🙏🏼
The best tip is have fun, it may sound cheesy, but if you are using a tryhard team of Azumaril, stunfisk and the other top picks and you aren't winning like you expect to be, try something fun instead.
Very helpful advise man. Just like you stated at the beginning of the video, it takes a lot of time and commitment. And the meta is always shifting as well so adjustments must always be made. I came very close to legend rank on season 7 and hopefully can implement some of your advise and overcome the plateau Ive reached the past 2 seasons
I do 25 battles a day😂 Mainly for rare candies and stardust, I'm not particularly interested in raising up ranks. Satisfied just with the elite Charged Tm✅😂
Great tips, to add a couple more: 1) don’t get frustrated - when you get frustrated that’s when you tend to make misplays. If you feel yourself getting frustrated take a break (kind of an add on to the “don’t get tilted” tip) 2) don’t feel you need to leave your shields until your last Pokemon. Oftentimes I see so many people who for some reason refuse to shield until their last Pokemon, only to end up getting farmed down by fast moves. If you need to burn a shield or even in some scenarios both shields to win switch/establish alignment then do it. Chances are if you can align into positive matchups you’ll quickly burn their shields too. 3) Always assign a safe switch role to a member of your team - having a safe switch option available is extremely important, it will help to overcome a bad lead matchup. Ideally you don’t want this to be a hard counter to your opponents lead but I prefer using something that has a neutral matchup and can apply good shield pressure. If you immediately switch to your hard counter for their lead 99% of the time your opponent will switch to a hard counter for that Pokemon, leaving you right back at square one and then just like that you’ve lost your main counter to their lead. The idea is that you keep your hard counter for their lead safe until you need it. 4) try and predict what your opponents lineup is - this is a tricky one but it is possible to predict what kind of team your opponent has by observing their switching/shielding behaviour. If your opponent doesn’t switch out of a neutral/bad lead and seems determined to protect their lead by burning both of their shields, you could begin to consider that your opponent is potentially weak to your lead in the back/middle of their lineup aswell. 5) understand that shields/energy can flip a matchup - sometimes there are some scenarios where you can win a matchup that would otherwise be a really bad matchup depending on shields/energy. Also, scenarios where an otherwise good matchup can be lost. It’s important to learn when it’s safe to overfarm/undercharge charge moves.
🙁😖 I tried so hard in season 7 but could reach to Ace. But thank you . Your tips and Pokemon teams made me do better in GBL thank you so much. Love your videos and huge support from India.😁

I don't even bother trying to get past rank 20 I just tank my rankings to farm 3 win sets once I get there. With the level cap raise I'm at such a disadvantage either I run into people much higher level than me or people with legendarys or Pokemon even harder to get than Legendarys. combine that with needing hundreds to thousands of instances to get good stats and event exclusive moves just such an enormous hurtle to get what amounts to the pieces to play the game but I guess that's just how Pokemon has been since day one

Thanks! I'm hoping to do well this season🔥🔥
Infact I learned to count fast moves since I watched him live streaming and playing live on YT.
Thank u soo much for the tips ❤️
That last tip of not playing tilted is like key tip cause I have played like that since season 6 and I have done so much better
I want to compliment you for your hard work and dedication to the community... 👏 but.. everyone in the GBL thinks they are you, so thanks for helping me find typing to combat this, kudos bruva💪🤙
I am going to try to get to legend this season. Good luck everyone on hitting your goals
I started pogo this year and i hit 2300 without counting moveset. just going by the feeling and experience lol. But I could never get into veteran. I should start memorizing the diagram! Thanks zyonik
Almostt 100 k, 300 subs left good job z!
Thank you so much
For you now I am in 19 rank
Hey zyonik thanks bro❤️
Based on the azumarill examples, coach Z is going to kick a lot of them to the moon this season.💥💥
Great tips! I didn't play Pokémon as a kid, so all new to me. Memorizing moves and the rock/paper/scissors is a big haul that holds me back. Advice? Love your videos ♡♡♡
Thanks man!!
Zyonik is so good that sometimes I think he gets it and sometimes I think he doesn't. I mean this guy doesn't even use Pokémon with decent IVs. He doesn't even have that many Pokémon powered up. He just gets to legend like it's nothing at all.
