- in this refrigeration training video, I will troubleshoot a reach in cooler that is running warm and will go over the R134A Pt chart, refrigeration pressures and saturation temperatures.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the proper procedure to troubleshoot "a not cooling" reach in. The explanations along the way are based on your personal experience of having done this countless times. That is my definition of a true professional!
👍🙏
Good video man watching these like crazy now . I was a residental tech just got a refrigeration /light commercial job and we work a lot with ice machine and true fridges and freezers these videos are a big help
🙏 for months I have been asking many tech how to find out my pressures. Thanks
You are the best hvac teacher that i know ! Thanks one more time! It make my ref work going smoother and smoother!
👍👍
It Truly is a reach in cooler, bro!
Wow by far the best on TH-cam ❤
Thanks!
Changed a coil on small true prep table last week. Thought my cap tube was clear, unit ran with good pressures before replacement. After replacement pressures were low and unit cooled but wouldn't cycle off on coil sensing thermostat. Replaced the cap tube and all was well. Didn't think about flowing nitrogen at operating pressures to check for restriction. Great tip!👍👍👍
Yup, got burnt on that years ago and wasted almost 2 days trying to resolve the issue.
As soon as you mentioned the cap tube cutter, I stopped the video, googled it and bought it. Lol. I have heard of it but if it say it works better, I believe you. Next time put a link in it so you can get a commission. Lol.
Thank you for taking the time to teach us. Know that there are many guys learning from what you do.
Lol nice.
Thank You Sir. I hope your day is healthy and happy 😊
👍
Amazing. Thank you
Great video well explained, thank you 🙏🙏👍👍.
👍👍
thanks a lot for your educational vids.
👍
Great Video. Thank you for sharing
👍👍
I do mostly hvac without the R. But I liked your video and training/advice
Thanks!
Im a resedential tech 13 years ,been in industrial refrigeration (ammonia) for 13 years now .but all these commercial things are my next challenge im thinkn of looking into this field so i can be well rounded in all my trade
Will be an easy transition for you. Once you know what the saturation temps need to be, the rest is simple
Great job tech
👍
Excellent job 👍👍👍
👍
Very helpfull 👍👍👍💯
Glad it was helpful!
Do you have any videos where you record yourself installing an evaporator coil in a reach-in? That would be amazing to watch. Must be so tight!
i brazed the cap tube to the evap end shut 1 time. 😂 ; thanks for the sharing the nice trick to test to see if the cap tube brazed shut
True story 🤦♂️ learn from our mistakes is how we get better
Thanks again 🫡
👍👍
What program do you use for your sequence of operations
Where did you gauge up? I'm a light commercial rooftop tech now working in a fixed facility with low temp, chillers, boilers, FCUs, AHUs, and WSHPs. I tried to service a True this morning and I was as lost as one could be. Did a leak search. Nothing. Cooler/Freezer split. Freezer is fine. Cooler at 61 F. Couldn't find anywhere to put my gauges. It's probably right in front of me. You low temp guys are amazing.
It’s a sealed system, you need to install line taps
What would cause a T-23G to cool for about a week and then go to ambient temp ?
How do you replace the cord if its burnt out on the socket end that you plug in the wall socket?
How do you determine the high and low pressures on a small appliance that has 6 ounces of Freon.
Nice video! I have close to the same cooler. It stays cool for 2 days then the temp rises 20° unplug it for a day does the same thing. Any suggestions?
3:33 what is the TD for a walk in refrigerator?
Sometime I use wire striped to cut cap tube it works great.
Never thought of that, it’s a good idea
how do you know what the diff is for head pressure???
Hello dear what is the issue of true 2 door chiller upside 32f and dowside 50f in true T-23-2
👍👍👍
👍👍
Great video, great teacher. Quick question. How do you get your evap td and your condenser split? I notice that its different for different units.
Reach in evap td is 20F. Condensor can be either a 15F or 30F, a lot of the newer stuff is a 15F split
What determines if its 15 or 30 Condenser split? I know you said the newer stuff is 15 but how would i know while diagnosing a unit?
Also, whats the evap td for a walk in cooler and walk in freezer?
The engineer will decide, but based on your suction pressure, you will be able to figure out if it a a 15 or 30 split. Walk ins are a 10TD evaporator coil, but your superheat will determine the TD.
Exactly my thoughts ..how do u know your td ??
👍🇺🇸💪❄️ great job.. u said 15cs but then 30cs on diagram. Most cs r 30 for coolers correct? Some may b 15 depending on yr of unit ?
Yes, a lot of the newer stuff is using 15F Condensor split.
How do you find the evaporator and condenser TD? If there is no data plate or stickers?
You can try to contact the manufacturer. You eventually get the hang of it and can figure it out on your own
How do you know the condenser temperature split.? It’ll help a lot that information thanks
Most of the new stuff is 15F split
@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Thank you for that information
Where did you come up the high side td of 15 and low side of 20 td? High side seems low and low side seems like high td
Almost all reach ins have a 20F evaporator td. Condensor is either a 15F or 30F split depending on what the engineer has designed it at. Almost all the newer stuff will have a 15F Condensor split to help with efficiency ratings.
@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH thanks I was thinking the condenser was still at 30 didn’t know that reach in s can have that low of a split
can you explain evap td
Don't know if there is an advantage or not but I use that cap cutting tool at a 45 degree angle.
Good to know Dave, I’ll try that next time
Do you have a link for that cap tube cutter?
Got it on Amazon, under $20
hey, in 6:03 you mention, that you braze cap tube shut to evap.coil. What exactly mean "shut braze" it is something different than just braze copper with copper ? I'm not native-english and I don't know technical terminology
The new filter dryer comes brazed shut, so I don’t cut it until after I push nitrogen through
Are you guys using a solvent to flush out a clogged cap tube?
No, just straight nitro. Vacuum and a heat gun could also work
Thank you taking the time to respond
Dumb question what is Evap td and how do you get that number ?
Evaporator temperature difference. Your box temp minus your refrigerant temp.
Do u do live chat?
Nope
I'm a maintenance tech,is 47 to old to be a refrigeration tech,I know it's not what most companies want, but I'm alot more interested in this and commercial cooking equipment.
It’s never too late to learn if you put the work in. I’ve had techs trained in 6 months and dominating by year 2. It’s all who is teaching you and how much work you are willing to put in to learn.
I was 51 when switch my glazier trade to refrigeration
⬆️ 👍
I got the Hvacr community college degree in the late 80's but never went into the field. 25 years later came back to it and still learning today at 62.
30% of a new unit? How much is a new unit?
Approx 3K Canadian
