  • Welcome back to Chasing Vertical! In this episode I decide to dip my feet in the mountain biking pond... what a great decision! I had so much fun on the Holiday Valley Flow trail and I highly recommend it. Check out the Holiday Valley Mountain Biking Trail Map below:

    Holiday needs to stop slacking and just build a legit bike park already...

    Dope video brotha. I’m going to be purchasing a mountain bike soon, looking forward to riding trails.

      Thanks bro! I had the hardest time finding a decent mountain bike... A lot of people have taken to the outdoors during this pandemic and they were out of stock everywhere. Good luck!

    Very nice video 👌 kinsa bummed about the look of the "flow trail" I love flow trails and this is kinda just a xc type . But keep getting at it. I hope my new bike gets here soon 😔

    Hey do you think I could take my hard tail here? or would i have to rent a full suspension you think?

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely take ur hard tail there! FYI… They’ve modified the trail a bit this year because they are putting in the new Mardi Gras lift, and this trail runs through the middle of it briefly.

    Iv been snowboarding at holiday for years.. how did I not know they offered bike trails

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, and the trails there are really fun! I’ve also heard that HV is going to start letting guests use the Spruce Lift to allow guests to get their bikes up to the top without having to ride up. Supposed to start that this spring/summer!

  • @mtbst

    Nice video! I don't know HV well enough - as a skier/snowboarder, do you think adding proper berms to this trail at each turn would cause problems in the winter? Like are there snow trails through the woods that use this trail? I feel like berms are the only thing missing to make this a great flow trail

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! I don’t think adding proper berms would cause any problems in the winter... They accumulate enough snow and make enough snow there to have significant base depths on most runs. If they were to create proper berms, they would be well below the snow surfaces come late December.

    Where's the best spot to park for these trails? And how much uphill do you have to do to get back to the top?

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  ปีที่แล้ว

      HV now has lift service to get you and your bike to the top of Spruce Lake (where these trails start). If you park at Tannenbaum lodge, you can get your lift pass there and then take spruce lake lift up.

    • @Migsfigs
      @Migsfigs ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChasingVertical I think the lift only runs on weekends tho. And I was going to go on a weekday

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Migsfigs ok, in that case, there is an access road that leads up to to spruce lake. Continue on the same road u would take to get to yodeler lodge or tannenbaum lodge… at the end, the road will turn to dirt. U will see a small parking area. Park there and walk around the gate leading up the hill to spruce lake. Once up there, the trail starts to the right of the lift.

    • @Migsfigs
      @Migsfigs ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChasingVertical awesome, thanks! Is it a tough climb back up once you get to the bottom? Should I have someone drop me off?

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Migsfigs yes, if u have someone willing to do it for u, I would definitely take them up on it… lol. The climb up from the gate to the top of spruce lake is enough to have u huffing and puffing for a few.

  • @LLawlietKris8
    @LLawlietKris8 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for including me and my friends in the intro! We'll have to park where you parked next time we go instead of starting at the lodge. Also, what video settings are you using on your gopro? I have the Hero 8 black and my footage gets a little blurry sometimes when it gets shaky using a chest mount.

    • @ChasingVertical
      @ChasingVertical  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, it’s way easier parking up top... My Hero 8 is set up as follows: 4K, 60 FPS, wide, Hypersmooth set to High (not Boost). Hope this helps!
