THE ACOLYTE is an upcoming Star Wars television series, a mystery thriller set before Episode I that focuses on the dark side. Here is everything we know about The Acolyte (+ footage exclusively from Star Wars
Oh no! I did not knew about Carl passing. I will always remember when me and my oldest buddy when we where kid’s watching all the action hero movies. To me Carl will always be one of the biggest action heroes together with Arnold and Stallone. Rest in peace Carl.💪🏾
I’ve almost finished reading dark disciple myself, it’s the best Star Wars novel I’ve read so far since picking up Star Wars novels again. I really haven’t been able to put it down even when I’ve been tired. That book is an emotional rollercoaster, and I really can’t complain. I managed to convince my friend, who is a big fan of the animated shows to buy as well, his copy came yesterday.
You two are so knowledgeable and have such a positive community here on YT but on top of that, to have you both as allies is such a privilege and brings warm feelings to my heart :D
I love having so much positivity watching Star Wars content without hate discussion. This is my favorite channel because it's just so refreshing. Thanks Alex and Mollie. Keep up the good work.
"I don't think I have re-read a Canon book yet" alex didn't you start Light of the Jedi over again as soon as you finished it Also the multicam is a CRAZY upgrade, I love how hard y'all are committing to the new setup!
The different camera angles look so good for highlighting specific points during the discussion. The new setup could look even better with the videos being available in 4K.
R.I.P. Carl Weathers So shocking and sad hearing his passing. Love Weathers directed episodes. Greef Karga had a classy charm to the rough and grimmy underworld of Star Wars. I still say Solo should have been released in November-December instead of the traditional May release. But I still had fun watching it and saw it twice in the theater.
For the Super Bowl commercials, we got Star Wars costumes and the black, Vader looking car in the Volkswagen commercials. And the Disney + commercial with the dialogue snips written out.
I love this new format! Multiple cameras are great and fantastic edit Mollie! 💪 I think something for the arm rest is helpful, talking from DnD sessions experience- after we get high, small tables, role play and conversations goes much better.
The new setup is great guys! Also I was hoping Mando&Grogu would be 2025, just because I’m so excited to see a Star War in a theater again. But 2026 ensures higher quality so I’m willing to be patient.
My big concern with two movies in 26 is we're gonna end up with a Last Jedi/Solo situation where it ends up feeling too soon for casual audiences and people are thrown off, given that was one of the factors that made Solo perform not as well. Also with Carl Weathers, surprised you didn't talk about his directing more because I was totally expecting you to bring up the Grogu flashback with Kelleran Beq. Ahmed Best even paid tribute to him.
I doubt it was a serious factor the biggest factor was that it opened right next to Avengers Infinity War. They essentially killed their own movie instead of some other studio.
The cameras are a neat addition, solves the issue of you guys not being able to look towards us and each other at the same time quite well. Awesome idea as always :)
Do you think they could attach the Acolyte trailer to the Phantom Menace re-release in May to get people hyped for that show?? Maybe even show a sneak peak or 2ish minutes of the show like they did with Andor with Rogue One re-releasing back in 2022
I would like to know how you did your lighting on the bookcases and I know you plan to hide the wires, but how do you do that? (I would like to build one) what brand did you use?
I loved Molly's answer about seeing queer representation in Star Wars 🌈 I've got a question for next week's Q&A -- what are the queerest stories in Star Wars? My favorite queer couple from movies and TV is Flix & Orka (SW Resistance) 👨❤️👨
Love the green hue, like the Father's monolith. A father a head of me bringing his son to Solo, sounded so crestfallen asking for two tickets to ......... Star Wars
Q&A: Between _Revenge of the Sith_ and _The Force Awakens,_ how did Ilum's mutilation into Starkiller Base go completely unnoticed by the rest of the galaxy (except Cal)?
The Super Bowl isn’t being aired on Disney owned channels this year (they rotate every four years and they just had it) so I’d be flabbergasted if there was a Disney+ ad.
Something funny I noticed in the recent bad batch trailer Palpatine in the senate: noooo clones are bad we need to get rid of them Continues to use clone commandos to escort him around, what if the royal guards are secretly clones too?
The movies were originally released in May. In fact the Star Wars started the trend of the summer blockbuster season. In fact Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope was released on May 25th, 1977….
I just watched a show titled Scavenger's Reign and it's something I'd love to see in Star Wars. Just a group of people trying to survive on an unknown planet with dangers at every corner. It was a short 12 episode season, but boy did I enjoy the world building and simple premise.
In “Return of the Jedi” and “Rogue One”, we see particle shields repelling fighter spacecraft. In “Revenge of the Sith”, we see what seem to be energy shields. Two dreadnaughts are firing away at one another at point blank range because they are inside the shields of their opponent. In “The Last Jedi”, we see the Holdo Manuever, which was something completely different. I think the sheer mass of The Supremacy is what pulled The Raddus out of hyperspace.
Since you guys are shifting toward a podcast style format, these I think would be great to have on Spotify (if they aren't already). Espeically taking advantage of Spodify's video ability now.
High Republic has had so many great things that if I named them all I'd be typing all day. What I will say is that one of the highlights of Star Wars has always been the top-tier villains and Marchion Ro is certainly worthy of being counted among the best. He's so creepy and calculating and rageful in a way that sets him apart from all the others in the greatest way.
In Episode 4, one of the first spoken lines is Threepio telling Artoo, “There will be no escape for the princess this time.” Ding! Let’s make a movie or TV series about those adventures! Just kidding! But I do wonder what he’s talking about.
I really hope the Rey movie is bumped to '27. We need time for a Star Wars movie to settle and bave some room it itself. I don't want these releases to feel like just "extra" things. They should feel special.
One question that came to mind watching Empire over 40 years later was where the heck did the ladder come from on Luke's X-Wing on Dagobah? Did Yoda just happen to have a ladder in his storage shed or does the X-Wing have a compartment that I am not aware of?????
ROTJ Question: Why does no one stop Luke when he is dragging Vader’s dying body through the ship. Wasn’t the Royal guard right on the other side of the door?
Do you think we'll have a High Republic era movie or episodic series? I know the Acolyte, but I don't know that it is after the Rule of 2/Russan refuge
Why did the song during the ending celebration change in Return of the Jedi for the special edition? I prefer the new one but I still want to know why.
@starwarsexplained I got a question for you that I’m sure you guys get a lot. What order of the Star Wars movies would you watch when seeing them with a newbie? I’m asking personally because my better half/queen has never seen them and would like your opinion on this? If you have done a video on this just let me know and if you haven’t I would suggest doing it as it’s a very common question I bet. Thank you.
Question: Have you ever considered that BD-1 (B-D-One) name is strangly familiar to Baddie or B-One-D (Boned)? How do the creators come up with such names?
i got one. so i was doing some research & near as i can tell, the robes he's wearing at the end of episode three appear identical to the ones he's wearing at the beginning of episode four; so was he wearing the same robes for nineteen years? did he not have any other clothes?
Who informed the Rebel Alliance about the second Death Star? Mon Mothma says that many Bothans died to bring this information, but the two double agents from Crimson Dawn in the specific comics are Human and inform Luke Skywalker who in turn informs Rebel leadership. Is this a contradiction or is there an explanation for this somewhere?
Two Star Wars movies a year would be fine with me, but only in a world without multiple TV series also happening in that same year. I wanna be able to take time to digest the stories in these movies. That's a little more difficult when the very next day, a new episode of a series is out, and all I'm thinking about is what could possibly happen in the next episode. But that's just me. 😂
How about anything Cal Kestis for the center of the table next week? I Just started a replay of both games and I'm once again obsessed with my favorite Jedi
Perhaps a bit too soon, but is there a suitable replacement for Carl Weathers so that the character of Greef Karga can live on? After watching Millegi in Bad Batch, I get the feeling that Ernie Hudson could do it. He was a great voice in animation, but then on top of that, he's a similar age Carl was, similar height and build, and he's still working. He's already got an in with Star Wars, they've got his contact info should he have voiced more in Bad Batch or any other story Millegi may be in, why not play a different character, but in live action?
Considering his character really isn't that important and he's been at risk of being killed throughout each season and the new direction they're taking the with the format I would be ok if they didn't recast him and just explored him in the comics and novels.
Mollie would like everyone to know we are going to fix all the loose cables behind the shelves
That's the most relatable part of the setup, tbh
That's kinda ridiculous, don't you think?
Perfection lies in imperfection.😉
Your new corner is beautiful and so is Din Grogu.
I'd like Mollie to know that I appreciate her perfectly matched sweater and lips.
THE ACOLYTE is an upcoming Star Wars television series, a mystery thriller set before Episode I that focuses on the dark side.
Here is everything we know about The Acolyte (+ footage exclusively from Star Wars
I would like to know more about how you did the lighting in the first place
OH THIS SETUP IS SO CLEAN
now to tuck into the video!
Why do the Ewoks have a random dress that's exactly Leia's size?
It might have something to do with those two live action Ewok films they made back then.
You don't want to know.
They just ate a human her size.
Why did she choose to wear it?
Salvage from “caravan of courage” and “battle for Endor”. The mom… the mom don’t need it no’ more.
Thanks so much for listening to the newest episode! I'm so glad you're both enjoying it 💛
Ummm..... our war hero, Chopper, should go on the table!!!
Oh no! I did not knew about Carl passing.
I will always remember when me and my oldest buddy when we where kid’s watching all the action hero movies. To me Carl will always be one of the biggest action heroes together with Arnold and Stallone.
Rest in peace Carl.💪🏾

The new structure and format of the QnA is great. I really like the editing too.
Damn, I knew you guys upgraded the set up.. but.. HOLY SH**!!! THIS LOOKS AMAZING.
We are a long ways from StarWarsMinute 😂
Geode deserves the middle spot!
Geode was my second choice!!! Put both Chop and Geode on the table.
🪨🪨🪨 yessss
Is Jar Jar in return of the Jedi?
You should have The Bendu, because, well, he's the one in the middle
Mollie your editing is so good. You both should be so proud of this technological terror you've constructed.
You two are so knowledgeable and have such a positive community here on YT but on top of that, to have you both as allies is such a privilege and brings warm feelings to my heart :D

Biggs Darklighter in the centre for next Q&A?
R.I.P. Carl Weathers
So shocking and sad hearing his passing. Love Weathers directed episodes. Greef Karga had a classy charm to the rough and grimmy underworld of Star Wars.
I still say Solo should have been released in November-December instead of the traditional May release. But I still had fun watching it and saw it twice in the theater.
Another great Q&A. And, love the new set up and the lights and cameras and all. Great work.
This lighting designer approves of mollie’s love and care for the lighting ☺️
Molly with the cameras at the beginning 😂
For the Super Bowl commercials, we got Star Wars costumes and the black, Vader looking car in the Volkswagen commercials. And the Disney + commercial with the dialogue snips written out.
Love the creativity of edits between the new multiple camera angles! Way to go Mollie!
In the middle? Definitly Pippin 🐱
12:45 i LOVE DG. He is 100% spot on give this man his RESPECT
I love this new format! Multiple cameras are great and fantastic edit Mollie! 💪 I think something for the arm rest is helpful, talking from DnD sessions experience- after we get high, small tables, role play and conversations goes much better.
Do you have any Greef Karga stuff to put in the middle? RIP Carl Weathers.
The new setup is great guys! Also I was hoping Mando&Grogu would be 2025, just because I’m so excited to see a Star War in a theater again. But 2026 ensures higher quality so I’m willing to be patient.
The new camera setup is looking great!! Really stepped up your game!
Hi folks. I'm digging the podcast feel to the videos. Great job!
My big concern with two movies in 26 is we're gonna end up with a Last Jedi/Solo situation where it ends up feeling too soon for casual audiences and people are thrown off, given that was one of the factors that made Solo perform not as well.

I really like the new recording format. The multiple angles, and lights. Looks really cozy
Mando always came out at the end of the year. I say Rey Jedi order in May. And Mando & Grogu in December
Daughters of Ferrix sounds like they're right up my alley. Thanks for shouting them out!
The cameras are a neat addition, solves the issue of you guys not being able to look towards us and each other at the same time quite well. Awesome idea as always :)
Binks insurance : "Yousa in big doodoo dis time ?? Meesa Jar Jar Binks, Meesa your humble servant !"
Do you think they could attach the Acolyte trailer to the Phantom Menace re-release in May to get people hyped for that show?? Maybe even show a sneak peak or 2ish minutes of the show like they did with Andor with Rogue One re-releasing back in 2022
0:07 new set up! Lovely! It gives podcast vibes! Love you guys’ content!
Who are Palpatine’s creepy advisor guys, and when did they replace Blue Horns McGee from the prequels?
Geode would be pretty fun to see, someone in Neutral territory, also I would take Biggs Darklighter as an obvious first pick
No questions from me, just commenting that I love the new set up! Great job editing, Mollie!
RIP to Carl Weathers. Loved his work on Mandolorian as Greef and as a director. He was great in Rocky and Predator etc too.
I would like to know how you did your lighting on the bookcases and I know you plan to hide the wires, but how do you do that? (I would like to build one) what brand did you use?
I loved Molly's answer about seeing queer representation in Star Wars 🌈

Love the green hue, like the Father's monolith.
A father a head of me bringing his son to Solo, sounded so crestfallen asking for two tickets to ......... Star Wars
Q&A: Which sequel trilogy side/background character would you like in the Rey movie?
(ie. Maz, Crimson Corsair, Jess Pava, Connix etc)
i really agree with the tug of war comment, i like the fact that donald is talking about the singular vision
Hello there
No one else excited to see a certain lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm fail hilariously?
Q&A: Between _Revenge of the Sith_ and _The Force Awakens,_ how did Ilum's mutilation into Starkiller Base go completely unnoticed by the rest of the galaxy (except Cal)?
Requesting Hilo cam
In reading your other comments, it might be worth a full video going over the details of your entire studio.
Thanks to Mollie and Alex! 🧚♀
The Super Bowl isn’t being aired on Disney owned channels this year (they rotate every four years and they just had it) so I’d be flabbergasted if there was a Disney+ ad.
Something funny I noticed in the recent bad batch trailer
Palpatine in the senate: noooo clones are bad we need to get rid of them
Continues to use clone commandos to escort him around, what if the royal guards are secretly clones too?
Well Jar Jar is now a Jedi! Well... At least the actor is! Would be hilarious to see Darth Jar Jar vs the actor in an insurance commercial
The movies were originally released in May. In fact the Star Wars started the trend of the summer blockbuster season. In fact Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope was released on May 25th, 1977….
I know the editing has probably increased, but I love the new cameras. Very podcast/talk show and it totally works
Geo for the middle!
I just watched a show titled Scavenger's Reign and it's something I'd love to see in Star Wars. Just a group of people trying to survive on an unknown planet with dangers at every corner. It was a short 12 episode season, but boy did I enjoy the world building and simple premise.
Q&A: ROTJ. Shields! Do capital ships have both energy and particle shields? Shield behavior seems to change from one film to the next.
Q&A: When do you think we’ll start to see early Acolyte marketing?
Probably during the Superbowl if it's coming out in May. They would pay for a teaser and put a full trailer online.
Since you guys are shifting toward a podcast style format, these I think would be great to have on Spotify (if they aren't already). Espeically taking advantage of Spodify's video ability now.
High Republic has had so many great things that if I named them all I'd be typing all day. Multi-cam. MULTI-CAM! IT looks soooo good!
also, lol at seeing Mollie’s jumper in the opening shot and trying to figure out what it says
The new set-up/shots looks good though. Love it.
This past week, Diego Luna stated they have finished shooting Andor S2. Do you think we will FINALLY get to see the Bothans in live action?
aaaww we have that grogu as well💚💚💚
I love the look of the new cameras!
Shout out to the fantastic Spike TV Star Wars commercials.
I really hope the Rey movie is bumped to '27. We need time for a Star Wars movie to settle and bave some room it itself.
I don't want these releases to feel like just "extra" things. They should feel special.
I can’t wait for 2026. I hope at least one of them will be about the High Republic.
Q&A: Do you think one of the Phase 3 High Republic stories could reveal that a non-Jedi character is secretly a Sith?
One question that came to mind watching Empire over 40 years later was where the heck did the ladder come from on Luke's X-Wing on Dagobah? Did Yoda just happen to have a ladder in his storage shed or does the X-Wing have a compartment that I am not aware of?????
Return of the Jedi question: What is the battle of Tanaab? What did Lando do there? When did it happen? Will we get these answers in canon?
ROTJ Question: Why does no one stop Luke when he is dragging Vader’s dying body through the ship. Wasn’t the Royal guard right on the other side of the door?
The Mandalorian & Grogu movie should be called "Mangu", obviously.
Request for the middle piece: Dash Rendar
Do you think we'll have a High Republic era movie or episodic series? I know the Acolyte, but I don't know that it is after the Rule of 2/Russan refuge
Maybe let the top story of the video determine who's in the middle.
Why did the song during the ending celebration change in Return of the Jedi for the special edition? I prefer the new one but I still want to know why.
@starwarsexplained I got a question for you that I’m sure you guys get a lot. What order of the Star Wars movies would you watch when seeing them with a newbie? Would you be ok if Disney pulled a WB and decided to destroy a fully completed Star Wars movie , or would you lose your mind?
I do like the multi cam set up
What are those books behind Mollie's head with the gold foil lettering on the spines?
Question: Have you ever considered that BD-1 (B-D-One) name is strangly familiar to Baddie or B-One-D (Boned)? How do the creators come up with such names?
Hoping for the best with these films. No way they’ll unite the fandom but surely they can’t be worse.
i got one. so i was doing some research & near as i can tell, the robes he's wearing at the end of episode three appear identical to the ones he's wearing at the beginning of episode four; so was he wearing the same robes for nineteen years? did he not have any other clothes?
Do you guys think the Lando movie could serve as a soft sequel to Solo? Maybe Crimson Dawn will be the villain again?
Who informed the Rebel Alliance about the second Death Star? Mon Mothma says that many Bothans died to bring this information, but the two double agents from Crimson Dawn in the specific comics are Human and inform Luke Skywalker who in turn informs Rebel leadership. Is this a contradiction or is there an explanation for this somewhere?
Informing is not the same as giving the plans. After those two told the rebels they would have activated the Bothan's to find the plans.
Nice set-up! How will Pippin get his butt in the shot now?
The set looks so cool omg
Let's have Asajj in the middle next week 🥰🥰
How about anything Cal Kestis for the center of the table next week? I Just started a replay of both games and I'm once again obsessed with my favorite Jedi
Please have Klaud in the middle
We in the theme park business would call that a "pre show."
Wary Mollie, not one to trust 'investor call' information about ...'a galaxy far, far away'
Return of the Jedi question: Is that Rex in the Battle of Endor or not? Why didn't he have a story in A Certain Point of View?
Perhaps a bit too soon, but is there a suitable replacement for Carl Weathers so that the character of Greef Karga can live on?
