Gotta give props to Geely, they do make really good cars and as you mentioned, their fit and finish are fantastic. I drive a Geely sedan, I placed my bet on a Chinese car, fairly new in our market and so far, really impressed.
Same here, so I have been driving a Geely Azkarra for about two years and quite impressed so far. Just not a fan of the software for the entertainment system but overall great car,
The purpose of having the button for the glove box in the display is to make it so that you need the key to open the glove box, it's a security feature. Modern cars no longer have traditional glove box keys because they no longer have traditional keys.
I hope this brand does not kill itself by lack of parts and service centers availability. I mean globally of course. This brand has got a lot of potential. I'm thinking of buying a 03+ to be honest.
Rented & drove a Lynk & Co ev hybrid suv in Europe - lovely car, comfortable, fast, lots of luggage room, wonderful electronics. I am not a fan of China or Chinese build products that this one has me thinking. Especially if it shows up in the USA and that price point.
This car feels like it needs a little bit more time in the oven, hopefully they address a lot of things that you mentioned in the future. I have to say that side mirror integration is quite unique and while it doesn't really fit well with this vehicle, it could be iterated on. I could see it being a signature styling cue used in all their vehicles one way or another.
What's wrong with the cupholders? I've seen those on lots of cars (especially Korean), it's just a piece of plastic and a spring, hardly "over-engineered".
"do we like hipsters yet?" in full hipster beard, haircut and shoes... Seeing this car I do wonder why we just spent 40+k euro on a 4x4 PHEV Jeep Renegade though...
Man, I am here in China too (Jinzhou), love your vids btw. I am having a damn hard time finding a Chinese car with a fully English infotainment/voice assistant. Any suggestions?
Yes, camera-based side-view mirrors are legal and available on cars like the Avatr 12. However, they're not very user friendly, and I've been directly told by Avatr sales people that they guide customers away from buying them for that reason.
They're made by the same company (Geely) and basically share a design language, so it's not accurate to call it a copy. If you want to complain about Geely's inability to properly separate their many brands from each other in terms of styling, then I'm more than willing to agree, but that's a different conversation.
That's not quite true, either. The truth is the X was designed to be a Lynk&Co all along (because these things are designed often 3 years ahead of launch) but then Geely decided they needed a whole new brand for fully electric and so they flipped the badges. It's the same reason the 001 has the original Lynk&Co design language, because it was designed before the new direction and they decided to form a Zeekr on the back of it. The 007 is the first Zeekr designed with the brand's own design language.
Nonsensical reviewer who doesn't drive much, every button He complained about is extremely well thought out and well placed. I love it, apart from the glove box button.
I agree with Will on both accounts. I drove this car, and the weird voice command button placement and the door design were both things that I noticed very quickly. They look cool, but they're just not ergonomic.
Wheelsboy team is expanding.
It's the same guy...only on a parallel timeline.
The eclipse put us into a parallel universe. It’s still him.
Literally... ;-)

All the older models in Australia are pretty cheap trash. Something people buy when they cant afford anything else.
@@paulb1951 I cant say about the older models in Australia, not living there.

@@Dare2Blink The Azkarra is a really nice car. The interior is amazing! Okavango too, a nice family hauler. Hopefully we can get one in a few years.
Lynk & Co will expand to all the Balkan countries this year with the 01, but to be fair, I think L&C should add more products to the European lineup.
Hey William, I can't get over the wing mirror placement, "excuse me, sir, you appear to have two streetlamps adhered to the sides of your car". 🤣🤣

I thought “wheelsboy “ is the guy Ethan, turns out everyone could be wheelsboy...
Having the door button in the middle of a speaker grill will be great for finger grease building up over time in all the perforations.
Maybe don’t eat fried chicken in the car.

we only need those necessary buttons
Your new presenter is killing it, tbh. More reviews to come from both of you.👏👏👏
he have it's own chanel... veteran in chinese cars reviews he is not ''new'' - I think is just a colab.

的确,目前还有好多人不太喜欢这种突出的后视镜以及鹿角状的大灯。对于我来说,空间、动力以及音响、智能化完全符合驾驶要求。
Excellent vidéo as always.
Great presentation, as always!
06:30 - very nice that Lynk & Co pushes social interaction and gives people something they're craving: to complain about things.
Great job Willy !
as long the range, value, and design fits on all needs. its a BUY.
no matter its EV or not
but as of right now.. i only find this sweetspot in EV
I am a Chinese and work at the Daimler factory in Stuttgart, Germany. I hope Chinese cars can be accepted by the world.
Is the car gigantic or this guy rather short?!
Congrats to the video. Well done!
4820 mm x 1915 mm x 1685 mm
轴距2840mm 没有你想象中那么大但是足够了。
I have to explain to passengers how to open my Tesla Model Y doors too.

Thank you Wheelsboy for the content

First ones that come to mind are NIOs have English OS. And so do the older Li Auto ONE.
@@ChinaDriven cool cool, thanks for that. Electric cars are getting some traction here in Jinzhou but charging stations are few and far between.
01 PHEV as well as EV shared the same platform with the other Geely car, the Volvo 40. Is the 08 a China-only version?
The US dealership model takes any reasonable car and hikes the price beyond reach. I hate it here
What Volvo platform is this? The upcoming EX60?
The back of this 08 looks way better than the Zeekr X
A very strange mirror design
bro, when did you join wheeelsboy?
Nice everywhere except the hideous side mirrors. Is it legal in China to replace the side mirrors with cameras?
Yes, camera-based side-view mirrors are legal and available on cars like the Avatr 12. However, they're not very user friendly, and I've been directly told by Avatr sales people that they guide customers away from buying them for that reason.
This could be the next Zeekr 008..same company..😅😅😅
Does this have Sentry mode?
Sounds like someone in Geely misspelled “Lincoln”.
New accent. Like
It looks like a bigger Zeekr X copy

@@Wheelsboy most people I know drive with their hands on the bottom part of the steering wheel. That's the perfect place for the button.
The logo on the steering wheel is so ugly. It looks cheap. I prefer a logo on the steering wheel like on the 01. Pretty car nonetheless.

for you while for some it makes sense.
clearly never driven a genuine one like with the dmo system, simply an EV with more sustainable power and zero anxiety.
