    Invest in a basic metric socket set (with ratchet). The size for the dashboard (after removing the trim pieces) is 8mm. Stick with recommended lights, as colored lights won't show up the way you intended, and some states even regulate what color certain dash lights can be (for example, the check engine light is orange).

      Using the brightness adjuster you can make it brighter. In real life once id finished it was easily visible. Camera capture didnt really help it.

      Better to be cheesy and copyright free than to have someone else claim the video. But then when i made this i was new to the whole thing and really didnt have much thought about anything except i was just trying to be creative and hoped someone would watch whether they liked what i made found it useful or not. And look at this, you watched and felt compelled enough to leave a comment. No moatter how you feel it still benefits me so thanks for watching.

    • @dullaf4099
      @dullaf4099 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@giantjaz better not to use such annoying BGM than use one that is copyright free.
      However if you like such dire BGM styles then of course it’s your right to use them. I’ll just block your channel from any potential recommendations YT throws up at me.
      I usually post critically on videos that flag an annoyance. Not sure what your trying to achieve with your condescending comment regarding me being compelled to post up a simple critical observation.
      Anyway good luck with whatever style you choose. Just don’t expect everyone else to like it.

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The nice thing about you commenting on videos that annoy you is that it benefits the creator. So the fact you continue to do so is appreciated. The method of your critical comments is what seems to be the issue.
      Anyone can point out an annoyance, that what most people on the internet do on a daily basis. What people dont do often is provide actual constructive criticism. Flaty stating something you dont like doesnt really improve, advise, or affect a persons content. It really just serves to point out that the poster is not one you really need to listen to.
      One thing to keep in mind when "posting critically" is to think about the factors that might lead to why the thing that annoyed you was used/done by the creator. Maybe they are young, inexperienced with video creation, had at the time thought their choice was appropriate, or any other massive number of reasons.
      Usually this would help you form a better way of approaching the topic and maybe actually provide options or suggestions that might help them improve and remove the annoyances in further videos.
      Simply stating a blunt fact like you did achieves nothing. It is a comment easily ignored and swept under the rug. Because honestly the best way on youtube to prevent yourself from seeing things that annoy you is to not interact with them at all.
      Thankfully i do this for myself, its a hobby and i do it for my own happyness. Im constantly learning and making choices and i know that my stuff wont be for everyone. Either way, thanks for continually interacting with channels like mine and helping them out by interacting.
      Keep it up.

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Roliee95 you're fine man. The reason why, and I'll admit I don't remember if I said this at the end, but I thought the colour of the lights was based on the light behind it. This is not true. The dash itself has a green coating that colours the dash lights.
      When I first installed the lights I used a different colour that did not shine through. After I found that out I replaced them with pure white bulbs and I got the result I should have with nice bright even lighting.
      Don't use colours is basically what I'm saying. Just use white bulbs. Everything will look perfecr.

    I ran into same issue with focus led lites..tried blue, but its so dim ,its useless...stick with the white 6000k temp leds...the only other issue is there can be dim spots ..getting leds brite enough is tough...then getting them to radiate evenly is hard too.. u need super brite leds that radiate at 360 degrees, at least for the 3 t10s...the t5s are not critical

    I changed out the heater console T5 lights and then the instrument cluster T5 lights in my 2000 Focus. The heater console is now super bright but everything in the instrument cluster looks exactly the same. The left side of the speedometer is lit but not the right, same as before I changed it. Any ideas as too why?

    • @giantjaz
      @giantjaz  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +karensansui are you using plain white bulbs or coloured bulbs is one thing. Plain white will show brighter as there is a colour coating on the back of the dash that will lessen the brightness of certain colour bulbs.
      For the fact that one side is lit and the other is not, try switching the way you have bulbs installed. The polarity of the bulb may be incorrect. I had to do this myself and I had it loosely wired in to check and had to swap a few as I was looking.
