As I was watching this, I was thinking "isn't tera blast a bad idea because it becomes physical if you have a higher attack and then gets flipped based on that" and then I got my answer lmao
everyone was mad overthinking this vid lmao. its as simple as "if its a physical move like iron head, it now has the properties of a special attack but still has contact, and vice-versa". so ofc reflect blocks dragon pulse
tera blast being a sabotage move is insane.

that'd be more of a petmod i think, and honestly it's possible that this could be made on a petmod/om friendly side server like Dawn since Elite Redux had a showdown server (which let every pokemon have FOUR abilities at once)

Easy way to remember how the mechanic works is to just imagine every move has the effect of Photon Geyser/Tera Blast where it changes to match the user's higher attacking stat

you know i think id love to try a meta game that's just the gen 9 mons but put into gen 3, following the same mechanics, same items (rip scarf), and *no stealth rocks*
Tyranitar is so funny cuz learns like every fking move in the game lmao
A bunch of pokemon in early generations learned the craziest shit like Starmie learning Thunderbolt, Slowbro learning Flamethrower, Marowak learning Ice Beam. Pokemon being able to use moves they are either weak to or strong against, shit was the wild west in the early generations when it came to movepools of a bunch of pokemon.
Shame recent generations have been trying their hardest to make movepools worse for a bunch of pokemon (yes, i'm aware some got better movepools too, but plenty also got worse ones in recent times).
Look man being a gen 1 mon is the only reason snorlax can whip out a fire blast
If you guys play this again you should try using Iron Thorns, it goes kinda crazy with actually reliable moves
Huh, I remember Gothita seeing a lot of use last time they introduced the format. Shadow Tag allowing you to trap and boost your opponent, it learns Heal Pulse, Taunt, maybe the other options are just too good.

This meta seems super cool but my brain is being so slow with it. So the moves are swapped and get affected by the mons swapped stat plus boost, so blizzard is off of chienpaos attack stat, so if it got intimated it would make it weaker, but when annihilate had all those attack boosts from defiant wouldn’t that have made shadow ball stronger bc it’s now a physical move?
Nidoking probably goes OD in this mode
Tera blast always coming off the worse attacking stat is some high quality OM design

To be fair, category swap should swap physical and special attack references on all moves. It seems like an oversight.
This metagame looked dumb on the surface when i first saw it on the om of the month selection, but actually its more interesting that i thought may try it out later

Draco Meteor is banned. Same with Overheat, leaving just Leaf Storm, most seen with Rillaboom. Deo-Speed is also recently banned.
