I own the Vizio OLED and I love it! I have 4 other Vizio TV's. Love the brand, never had a problem with any of them...knock on wood. I don't like smartcast, but I use firesticks.
Made my decision to upgrade my 10 yr old Vizio to the new 55 inch quantum QLED 4K Vizio. After careful consideration of Sony Samsung, LG and the newer TCL and high sense I’m sticking with this brand. Good luck Vizio keep them coming.
My two older Vizio TVs simultaneously went wonky and I had to reset both to factory settings, which is a pain and time consuming. It was obviously Visio that caused this with no warning. Smartcast simply stopped working and wouldn't load.
The shame for Vizio is they were poised to join the high end with the Quantum X P Series. Nearly 3000 nits with a ton of zones. Challenge was erratic local dimming, not very colorful for having Quantum dots and reliability. Great vid Caleb
I still think the OG P Quantum was their best effort (other than panel lottery). That was the "wait, what?!" moment for the brand's recognition by the higher end, and then it was just death by 1000 cuts with the successors.
As a calibrator, Vizio has really good calibration menus. Gray ramps, SMPTE bars, etc, all built into the TV. You can also turn off the red and green pixels to adjust color and tint levels without using a pattern generator. The picture has fantastic blacks and great screen uniformity.
Vizio has a huge issue with glitchy firmware. They fix one issue with an update while creating three new ones. They have extremely poor quality control/assurance on their product firmware.
Hey Caleb I hope VIZIO can make a comeback because I have a Vizio H1 OLED that I like very much. My tv is 2 years old and I haven't had any problems with my panel. It's had several updates that fixed whatever bugs the tv started out with. Fortunately for me I didn't have any bugs with my tv. My tv was purchased in February of 2021 so maybe the bugs were fixed by then.
I've never owned a Vizio, but I was pleasantly surprised when using one at a hotel recently. I'm used to smart tv operating systems being sluggish and slow to load anything (even on more expensive models), but this particular model was zipping around faster than my Nvidia Shield! For a cheap tv that you can toss in a home office and/or kid's room, I think it's a good product.
that OLED is probably what killed them. There was a point where the return aisle of my bestbuy was nothing but 6+ Vizio OLEDs. Of course some people will have good luck.
You hit the nail on the head. TV's need to fix motion problems BIG TIME. I am so tired of seeing confetti on TVs turning into pixel madness! Anytime a team wins or there is a show with confetti I have not seen one TV handle it. I need to make a TV test disc with falling confetti. GJ on this video BTW.
There are limits to what even the best TVs can do. Your television would be astronomical in cost if they were to include picture processing that could resolve the issue you’re speaking of. You’re right. It’s inherent to all home TVs and even present in commercial panels.
Unfortunately for Vizio a new home screen isn't enough to save them in the marketplace. That's just too little, far too late at this point. What they really need to do now is just consider selling the entire company out to either TCL or Hisense at this point. They have fallen way too far behind now to have any realistic shot at catching up to either of those two brands. On top of that, they no longer command any real mindshare at all with consumers. The have largely just been forgotten about. They just got sloppy and careless and let their competition in the low-end of the TV market completely pass them by. Their fault!
Indeed, I was happy enough with the picture from my D65u (2015), but the UI was never particularly friendly, and customer support in Canada soon evaporated. Even new I could never get it registered on line - didn’t recognize any permutation of case sensitivity or character spacing for our postal code format, and neither was firmware upgrade was ever successful. Even so, when I started window shopping for a newer and larger screen, they still could have been on my short list, but at the time weren’t getting much good press. After much futzing around, I went for an LG77B2 ; my first OLED and well below my max budget -leaving room maybe for a quad of in ceiling speakers to implement Atmos? - and am still in the honeymoon stage.
I honestly don't think Vizio can compete with the Midtier kings TCL/HISENSE they are so far ahead they are starting to rival into the top tier (Samsung/LG/Sony)
I have 2 of the Vizio OLEDs. One in our main living room, and one in my man cave. Both have worked just fine for the 3 years that we've had them. Just ordered the new Quantum Pro for our bedroom. Vizio has never done me wrong for over 14 years.
I recently got the 2023 (2022 release) Vizio MQ8. The 50" version is the one with the 244Hz if you plug a PC in, and it was on sale at the end of last year or the beginning of this year for around $398 so I figured it might work for gaming. So far I haven't been let down. Not a huge fan of their Smartcast Interface, but it does the job.
I do like vizios, I own a couple. But as far as the OS goes, not just on it but on any tv, I will always use an external streaming device so the OS is never a deciding factor in my purchase.
Are all Vizio smart TVs getting this new update for "Home Screen" from Smartcast? I ask because I have a unopened VIZIO 50" Class 4K UHD LED Quantum Smart TV HDR M6x-Series M506x-H9. Also can I get a new model voice remote separately if so from where and will it be compatible?
One may wonder why Vizio is focusing on new UX for their built in smart app. It's likely due to their business model relying far too much on selling user data (which they've been in trouble with already). This alone won't save them when TCL and Hisense can beat them on price and quality every day. Nobody has brand allegiance for $300 TVs.
Sadly, all three of these bands fall flat on their face for long-term reliability. None of them have great reputations for longevity. Any time you hear of a TCL, Vizio or Hisense that lasts for than three or four years you are absolutley socked and amazed - because SO few of them ever do!
The Vizio P65-C1 set the standard for what a modern TV is back in 2016. Since then, everything has been incremental. Also, their QC is a well known issue. Smartcast isn't terrible but when Roku and Google TV exist, Smartcast can't compete. Then you add in TCL and Hisense, who have their own vertically integrated supply chains, and Vizio can't compete in costs either. I used to be their biggest fan, and like you, my first flat panel LCD was a 37" Vizio back in 2007. But, ever since the failed LeEco take over, they've been in a bad spot. They haven't announced any new units when everyone else has. No follow up to their OLED, nothing... Their motion handling is at the bottom when compared to their peers. Same for upsclaing, their's is not good at all IMO. Rtings, FOMO, and Digital Trends themselves have pointed this out numerous times over the years. Cheap HW and poor SW is not a recipe for success.
TCL TVs don’t allow access to their professional calibration menus unless you have the service codes. Whereas, Vizio does. Vizios are much easier to calibrate the white balance and Hisense is a joke when it comes to real color representation.
!!! So to solve all the problems they need to completely change the management, the advertising sector, the technology sector, and learn to follow the market trends and customer demand !!!
As a 2021 Vizio PQX owner, they’re going to have to do a lot more than spit shine their smart TV to win me back. The TV has great hardware, it’s PQ is amazing when fed a 4K signal. They’re processing, on the other hand, is garbage, and that includes motion. They also need to step up majorly in the quality control department, as I am on my 3rd warranty TV. Also, any problems fixed through their updates created other ones. Since I managed to not throw the thing out on the street from frustration, I am happy enough with what I have for now, but it was a horrible road to get there. If I had to replace it today, it would be the TCL QM8.
I have a 2021 85" P Series Quantum X, and it has been amazing. I just moved it to my bedroom and have an 85" TCL QM8 in my living room now. I had Avatar 2 playing on my Panasonic UB820 on both at the same time, and it more than held its own against the QM8. I am definitely rooting for Vizio to make a come back.
Vizio isn't even close to TCL...Drops mic!!! The TCL should destroy it being a mini dot with over 1,000 nits of brightness and Way more dimming areas...If its close you need to return your TCL back to the store and get another one or have it professionally calibrated... The QM8 should have OLED type quality like the Hisense U8K does...
Caleb, can you please do a deep dive for us on TV processors alone? These devices really aren't TVs anymore and everyone knows it. They are computers. They are LINUX boxes. The single most important component of ANY computer is its processor. Can you please shift gears here for us and really focus in on the SoC platforms that these TVs are running on? LG and Samsung build their own SoC's. Sony gets theirs made for them by MediaTek who uses the TSMC fabs for their production. I think consumers could really benefit from reviewers doing a FAR more in-depth analysis and review of the processors running inside these TVs today - and the algorithms that run inside of those processors. Consumers aren't just ready for this type of deeper dive on TV processors, they really need it at this point.
If Vizio is revamping Smartcast will it be available to older TV via an update or will it only be available on newer TVs. I ask b/c I like my current Vizio M65 and don’t see a reason to upgrade yet.
Did TCL improve their flat screen tvs? Also is it worth it to take a Vizio 43" (a few years old) flat screen that does work but needs some LED backlights replaced? A D43 - C1 model
Vizio use too be my favorite TV brand. My first 1080p TV was a Vizio from Costco, my mother now owns that TV and still to this day it runs like a dream. What turned heads and raised eyebrows for Vizio was the fact it's TV's offered just about all features such as, a native 120hz panel, high nit brightness, lots of backlight zones, VRR, HDR, HDR10+ HLG and Dolby Vizion at competitive undercutting prices. Whereas some Brands like Sammy don't support Dolby Vision, LG don't support HDR10+. I know Vizio UI was just and anchor dragging them down, but the other major problem why they been stuck in the rutt is reliability issues. Their products always had some nagging issues that just absolutely frustrates the the all hell out of you that made you want too throw the remote through the panel. Issues such as TV not turning on, or not turning off. TV not responding to remote inputs, or maybe it was the remote with an issue. Also HDMI handshake issues where the TV doesn't recognize what you have plugged into it so it doesn't connect. And then you get that dreadful no input message it's definitely a far cry from the old reliable TVs back in the day from Vizio. I would love to see the big V get back in the game but with all these budget brands putting out amazing products that's absolutely comparable to some of the top tier brands, not only is it a long road for Vizio but I feel like the reputation damage is stuck in the consumers brain and therefore most won't even consider a Vizio they will walk pass to another budget brand.
@@simonmaduxx6777 Right!! And I've own a couple of Vizio TVs including their OLED which I took back within 2 weeks. The only Vizio product I own now is the 5.1.4 Elevate Dolby Atmos, DTS X soundbar which has yet had any issues to this point. (Big sigh)😮💨
@@RunEmDownTony I still have my OLED model, and most of the issues has been fixed I can confirm, though every once in a while (rarely) it’ll do something weird like shut off on it’s own
I also had tv and Dolby atmos soundbar from vizio, tv picture was amazing, soundbar sounded real good …….. when they worked, unfortunately that wasn’t most of the time. The soundbar had issues as soon as I hooked it up, they replaced it, I got the replacement and had the same exact problem. That’s a quality control issue. Then I read that they made more money from selling user info and ads on their app screen than selling tvs and audio gear. I hope they turn it around and address quality issues. ✌️🙏🏼
Any idea why my tv keeps showing a new purple screen saying cant connect to internet? Also, i keep getting a black screen that says "error 500". We only use the tv for streaming prime, hulu, peacock. Help!
I have the 65” Vizio Oled and I love it had it for around 4-5 years now and still get compliments on it. Gaming is so smooth running Xbox series X and PS5 they look gorgeous on this screen. And I run my Apple TV 4K on it Dolby Vision is something to truly see. Will be getting the Qled pro for my other room, cant beat the price and four 2.1 HDMI ports doesn’t hurt either.
The hidden beauty of Smartcast is that it is cloud-based. So when Vizio comes out with a major update like Vizio Home Screen, it will be pushed to most Smartcast TVs going all the way back to 2016. That was over six years ago. Name one other major manufacture that is still pushing out major updates to TVs even three-years-old, let alone six.
That is quite the pro. My tvs are 3 years old and still get updated. I was looking at the newer TV of vizio at sams Club. They were advertising good updates. The newer ones also have voice search.
Vizio isn't dead, and I think they can comeback. It's going to come down to if they want to make significant changes in their TVs. The issues you pointed out Caleb. But one issue stood out from the rest is the motion handling on their TV's. As far as partnership goes. They can partner up with the NHL, MLB, or someone else. I do think they need to release another OLED and make some Mini-LED model TV's. TCL and even Hisense are passing them by and have passed them buy. Imagine getting wrecked by Hisense. Vizio used to be the king of budget TVs.
I like the new Home Screen on my Vizio TV. But one thing I don't like is the "Recent Apps" feature. I wish there was a way I could remove it or at least clear my recently viewed apps.
Is this tv good for the PS5? When I look at the specs online it says 4k 120hz are 1080p 240hz. The last tv I bought I got tricked into buying a tv that was only 4k 60hz. I was very disappointed. Now I’m looking to buy a tv this year on a Black Friday sale but I want to get all the features so I get everything out of my PS5.
I Been 👀 👀 You Guys For Years Now Caleb... And I Love Your Content Period! I Was Thinking 🤔 If U Guys Would Be DOIN CONTENT 🤔 FAR AS HOME THEATER 🎥 SPEAKER'S AND AVR'S ??? I Really Believe Caleb Can Pull It Off , EFFORTLESSLY!!!!
Bought my first Vizio TV three years ago. It was my first TV from them. It will also be my last. That TV had to get repaired by Vizio twice - then warranty replaced with a newer model. Even then, half the features on the box didn't work correctly until 18 months later after multiple firmware updates. Even today, it's not perfect. The TV has a 50/50 shot of not handshaking with HDMI devices. Suffice it to say, while I would say that their customer service was good, the quality of what I purchased wasn't. I don't trust that any TV I purchase in the future will be any better with actually supporting the features they state it does on the box. I've now successfully steered more than a few people away from the brand towards more reliable manufacturers.
For the last seven and a half years I have enjoyed my Vizio M70-C3 with an AppleTV (avoided Smartcast altogether). I'm looking to upgrade in the next year since it's starting to show it's age (pre-HDR, pre-2.1 ports, etc). Not sure what brand/model yet.
What can you do about very limited internet access (we are rural) and the update has made it extremely difficult for us. Our channel button only goes up or down one or two channels. If we enter a channel number and it goes to that station, we can’t change the station from there unless it goes back to the station we were originally on. When you hit the mute button then try to change the channel, the mute goes off! Please help!
They won't answer this because they are steeped in anti user friendly designs. I just got a Panasonic TV and it allows for universal remote controls. Your Vizio will lock you out as soon as it can. Time for a new set sorry to say it.
As of July 12, 2023 at Best Buy the Vizio MQX 65" is $808 vs. TCL QM8 at $1200, and the TCL Q7 at $700. Which TCL TV is the Vizio comparable to performance wise? If the QM8, then it's a winner. If it is similar to the Q7, then it's not looking good.
My first smart tv purchase was a Vizio M658-G1. I bought on features/$. I’m not completely dissatisfied, but Smartcast is a bit of a hassle. I am currently torn between buying the LG 85 series QNED and the LG B3 OLED. HELP!!! 🙀
It does look significantly better, but it won't change the fact that Vizio just doesn't have much of a place in the market anymore. When people think bang for your buck, they think TCL, and Hisense to some degree. If people want something better, they push for the big 3 of Samsung, LG, and Sony. Vizio is the odd one out, and they have some major issues with QC on their TVs that have yet to be rectified.
man im actually tv shopping rite now i already have a vizo 4k 65 inch for my game room. plays fantastic for xbox at full 4k hdr. now going to up the size in the living room to 70”. i dont have the space for anything bigger but they have the quality that im looking for. it plays fantastic!!!! when im looking for a new one i check ur channel first
Doesn't almost everyone use some kind of streaming device anyway? I personally don't use eARC because of lip sync issues that bother me deeply. I can only fix it when using a streaming stick.
The 2018 PQ was amazing. It had brightness well over 2000 nits, contrast matching the Sony Z9 and Samsung QFN9, BT2020 coverage of 81%, and was affordable at 65 inches. I feel like they were so ahead of the field at the time, and could have built on that.
Unfortunately for Vizio they burned me with my last TV. I bought a P55-F1 when it came out and it was an awesome price to value purchase. They did an update which caused the backlight for local dimming to become sparratic so I had to keep it off which sucked for HDR content. When playing games it was so bad I disabled it permanently. I expected the TV to last as long as my previous Vizio, sadly they never fixed the problem and I purchased another TV after becoming fed up. I bought a 65" LG C2 and will never recommend Vizio TVs again or puchase one. To me it doesn't matter if they make the best TV in the market, they lost a customer for life. The 5.1.4 Vizio atmos soundbar I bought with it still delivers and I continue to enjoy it, but as a brand I will not support anymore.
I bought a new 65inch vizio p-series quantum 2019 model and I haven't had a single issue with it yet. In August of 2021 I bought a 75 inch vizio p series quantum 2021 year model and no issues other than some very slight delay es with the smart cast home screen which I don't even use. Both tvs looks amazing and the brightness and HDR are amazing. My 75 inch is hooked up to my PS5 with it's hdmi 2.1 ports and it's amazing. Again no issues but unless I see their build quality go up and they do better testing on the software side of their tvs before new model releases, I will probably go to a higher end brand whenever the 75 inch dies which isn't probably going to happen in the next few years anyways and by then I will being going OLED since prices by then will be more reasonable hopefully. I'm not spending over $1800 for a 75inch oled tv
Getting rid of smartcast is a small step in the right direction, it's pretty much mandatory to bypass it with an external streamer. The issue I've had and have heard from so many others who bought Vizio tvs the last 6-7 years has been major reliability/quality control concerns. I have a 2018 Vizio P Quantum (their top model that year), and it's been replaced twice (thankfully under warranty) over a 2.5 year span from when it was bought new. The 'quirks' which still exist on set i have no like random power cycling, HDMI ARC never working with soundbar (And HDMI Arc works with other tvs and this particular soundbar) and reboots I have to do myself time to time just persist. Not to mention random video scramble screens I get as well time to time which sometimes results in tv rebooting itself or the horrible blooming i've had with all 3 sets despite having 192 zones of FALD (Which was a lot back in 2018). They have got to get their quality/reliability under control bottom line. I had a n old non-smart 1080p Vizio I had gotten over a decade ago now and it's still working as it was brand new today for a different family member, this 2018 Vizio P Series I have is basically junk and I can see people throwing these out a lot quicker than normal with tvs as a result.
For being a smart tv ,once the remote acts up ,u can't manuely control your tv volume and on and off only,my old tv I can completely control without a remote, not bad for a dumb tv
I have a 47" Vizio LCD I bought in 2010 or 11. The TV is on all day everyday. It won't die. The fluorescent backlighting is remarkably durable. I'm not rooting for it's death, but I'm staying current on what's available "just in case".
Hey there, please get back with me if possible. I recently thought I upgraded from a 55 inch Samsung and also a 55 inch LG that I was comfortable with other than the screen size being too small. I recently traded my LG 55-inch plus $100 for a 70-inch vizio. I was very excited to get home and said everything up. That said, after doing so I am having an issue! I was relying on the Wi-Fi direct feature in both my LG and Samsung TVs to be also in the Vizio!? I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to screen share to the Vizio without being connected to same WiFi network. Can you steer me in the right direction and or let me know if it's possible at all? I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks
I just bought one because. I've had one for over 10 years and it still works great, the new one so far also works great. I had a Hisense and it turned out bad had to get refund. They could not repair it.
You're not wrong, I've loved Vizio but they have lost a lot of ground to the likes of TCL and Hisense, especially with their OS choices. I really hope Vizio could make a come back, cause they were one of my go to recommendations.
@@AllisonRoadWest For budget recommendations, yes it was. Now it is not. It's really not crazy, they were better than a lot of budget brands but if someone wanted a more premium TV then no, I would not recommend Vizio
It's to late and wrong move for Vizio to use specific and brand new native OS. It would be better for them to use licensed old 5.0 LG's WEB-OS with magic remote or some version of Android/Google TV OS to play safe and focus their resources on good hardver and marketig.
Vizio seems to have been "Walmartified." The only place I see them in volume is Walmart and Target. Smartcast is flaming hot garbage. Truthfully Vizio Homescreen Probably will be as well. There are 6 primary TV Operating systems now: Roku, FireTV, GoogleTV, Tizen, AppleTV, and WebOS. Everything else is superfluous. Unless Vizio is willing to put a ton of money into Vizio Homescreen, it won't save them. I work a PT weekend job for a major TV brand at Best Buy. The store I work at is pulling out their Vizio display and replacing it with a combo Hisense/TCL display. One of the 70" Vizio models was on clearance for less than $200! None of the Blue Shirts at the store I work out will recommend Vizio, even on the cheap end.
Its crazy because i would never trust hisence as a brand alone, and even best buy folks acknowledged TCL super dicey QC track record. Like, when a sales person tells you they come back a lot, and the internet seems to agree..thats not good. samsung has no dolby vision, and sony is back doing sony shenanigans (2 good hdmi)
@@simonmaduxx6777 Sony has been doing two HDMI 2.1 ports. It's not new. I agree they should have four, but to be fair the vast majority of people need one HDMI 2.1 port at the most. The store I work at sees about 1/3 of the Hisense U8Hs come back if they were bought in store. They usually get exchanged for the same price Sony or Samsung TV.
Vizio needs to take a big look at the market and reinvent themselves from a couple aspects 1, adopt a universal OS. I’d say FireTV. With the growth of Ring and the Alexa ecosystem and even home builders like Lennar giving people a starter Ring security system, them being in that ecosystem will sell itself especially if they offer higher end product options, which almost never offer FireTV 2, they need to reevaluate their tv line up so it’s more comparable to the rest of the market and can actually compete. V Series: 43”-75” 60Hz Direct Lit QD-LCD M Series 50”-85” 120Hz FALD QD-LCD P Series 50”-85” 120Hz FALD QD-LCD with a higher zone count P Series Quantum 65”-98” MiniLED QD-LCD with a very premium design H Series: at least make it compete with the LG B series so it can be $1300 at holiday season and offer it in 55”-77” 3, get their damn quality control together.
Ring has problems as well. First off, they are owned by Amazon and that makes a lot of people nervous. Second, Ring is the company that got called out for sharing customers saved video with the police without first asking the owner of that video if they were OK with Ring doing that.
I had a Vizio for 10 years, moved to a Samsung and back to a 75" Vizio. I just purchased a Quantum for a custom entertainment unit....followed the reviews; all good ones BTW. My TVs are basically just monitors for my AppleTV so I never use the Smartcast function. Things that make you go hmmmm...
I purchased our first Vizio TV this year (75" MQX) and I'm pretty happy with it besides the sound quality. They knock out the park with their sound bars but it just seems like they put no effort into the TVs speaker setup. Maybe it's a marketing tactic to encourage bundling 😂. Ya got me Vizio
You may like Vizio's new UI, but many Vizio owners don't thanks to one simple misstep -- merging OTA TV channels into WatchFree. That is causing massive complaints on Vizio's subreddit. Why couldn't they have left OTA channels alone?
New to this page… so I don’t know much about tv I usually just go on what tvs are popular, that how I keep up with tvs nowadays. Idk much about the brands like that but what happen to Vizio? My roommate just got one with his new Xbox and it seems find to me
I have to say reviews do not equal real life experiences. I have a 2020 65" PQX and keep it offline as newer updates add unwanted features, and in some cases worsen pq. on the topic of Smart Trash UI, it's utter crap, slow slow slow. My last 2 TV's were Vizio's and they will be my last. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with how my TV works and looks with a FireStick 4K Max, but Vizio has some of the absolute worse support in the industry. Also seeing how they are an ODM, they don't make the firmware and any real improvements are slow to come to realization. VRR is one such issue many buyers of the 2000/2001 9 and X series experienced, it took them 2 years to get it sorted. It saddens me that reviewers don't ever touch on this aspect of ownership.
Sadly, almost all reviewers ignore the long-term implications of TV purchases. Rarely do they ever hone in on things like reliability and Total Cost of Ownership. That needs to change. People want to keep these TVs for a DECADE at least. Just recommending a new TV based on features and how it looks today is only part of the process. What good does a nice picture and cool new features do you if it's just going to break on you in six months? This is exactly why people shy away from brands like TCL, Vizio and Hisense - they simply do not have the reputation of building reliable, high-quality products that actually last.
the last best vizio TV i had was the 2019 M series quantum 43 inch tv. That TV was nice. If only it was 4K/ 120hz I would have stuck with it. Plus it had an IPS panal which was a plus for Me since I use it for multiple use. Vizio seems to always be a hit or Miss. My top favorite Vizio TVs were the 2014 M series (i got the 32 inch version) and the M43 quantum
We have 2 Vizio TVs. An older 42 inch, non-smart TV and a 60 inch with smart cast. Both have been great tvs. Both screens have a mat-finish which hardly shows reflections. A lot of the tvs I've seen in the stores have a glossy screen which really shows reflections. Not a fan of those.
Software wasn't the issue with Vizio. I bought a 58" Vizio in 2021 for use in our office and it was completely dead just under 2 years laters, thanks to a bad motherboard and just out of warranty. Spending $400 on a TV that looks good is only a value if it lasts several years. I ended up replacing a less than 2 year old tv with an 8 year old Samsung out of my bedroom. And from what I've seen online, the lack of reliability/longevity from Vizio TVs is a very common issue.
Bought a 43 inch Vizio smart screen last week. Apps kept disappearing and picture went to black. Vizio said to reset tv. Nothing worked. Took it back to Best Buy and got a TCL Google TV. Vizio is a hot mess.
Husband and I have had our Vizio about 7 years now and it’s a gorgeous display .Many compliments on it too. I love it .
I own the Vizio OLED and I love it! I have 4 other Vizio TV's. Love the brand, never had a problem with any of them...knock on wood. I don't like smartcast, but I use firesticks.
got my 55 oled for 749 bucks. Its in my bedroom. I only stream and Im very happy with it. not as good as my Cx, but it seems to get brighter
Same here
Smart cast has built in tv.
Made my decision to upgrade my 10 yr old Vizio to the new 55 inch quantum QLED 4K Vizio. After careful consideration of Sony Samsung, LG and the newer TCL and high sense I’m sticking with this brand. Good luck Vizio keep them coming.
Really? I just picked up this tv and returned it after two days. Literally looks like something out of 2005. Maybe I got a bad one.
That whole nit number was basically a sham and people didn’t like the lies. On top of that, the lack of updates are what killed them.
That TV was great. I still have one.
But great for the time. Now, they'll definitely have to step it up.
I still think the OG P Quantum was their best effort (other than panel lottery). That was the "wait, what?!" moment for the brand's recognition by the higher end, and then it was just death by 1000 cuts with the successors.
Quality control seems to be a big problem for Vizio.
@@Shift4gI have a PQ65 and it was a great value in 2018-19, but I haven’t considered getting a Vizio TV since.
As a calibrator, Vizio has really good calibration menus. Gray ramps, SMPTE bars, etc, all built into the TV. You can also turn off the red and green pixels to adjust color and tint levels without using a pattern generator. The picture has fantastic blacks and great screen uniformity.
If your internet connection goes down the watch free loading prompt comes up not allowing you to watch basic antenna tv.
watchfree sucks for sure
Vizio has a huge issue with glitchy firmware. They fix one issue with an update while creating three new ones. They have extremely poor quality control/assurance on their product firmware.
The Vizio 65" OLED is amazing. I have had no issues with it.
It is a good TV.
Vizio needs to get in the Mini LED game and make another OLED as well!
I have the OLED, I have 0 complaints, picture quality is amazing imo
that OLED is probably what killed them.
True ! Too little,much too late !
Meh, if they released a really good TV and a great price point people would buy.
I honestly don't think Vizio can compete with the Midtier kings TCL/HISENSE they are so far ahead they are starting to rival into the top tier
(Samsung/LG/Sony)
@@midengineZ06 very true. But tcl has quality issues
I have 2 of the Vizio OLEDs. One in our main living room, and one in my man cave. Both have worked just fine for the 3 years that we've had them. Just ordered the new Quantum Pro for our bedroom. Vizio has never done me wrong for over 14 years.
The end of your sex life, if you still have one. 😂
But as far as the OS goes, not just on it but on any tv, I will always use an external streaming device so the OS is never a deciding factor in my purchase.
exactly
Are all Vizio smart TVs getting this new update for "Home Screen" from Smartcast? I ask because I have a unopened VIZIO 50" Class 4K UHD LED Quantum Smart TV HDR M6x-Series M506x-H9. Also can I get a new model voice remote separately if so from where and will it be compatible?
I actually use the Vizio SmartCast exclusively over the Fire Stick. No complaints at all.
Vizio Home Screen will inevitably be shortened to VHS so it's gonna need to be good or the memes alone will kill it.
Why is the spectrum app not available on Vizio?😊
One may wonder why Vizio is focusing on new UX for their built in smart app. It's likely due to their business model relying far too much on selling user data (which they've been in trouble with already).
This alone won't save them when TCL and Hisense can beat them on price and quality every day. Nobody has brand allegiance for $300 TVs.
Sadly, all three of these bands fall flat on their face for long-term reliability. None of them have great reputations for longevity. Any time you hear of a TCL, Vizio or Hisense that lasts for than three or four years you are absolutley socked and amazed - because SO few of them ever do!
@@michaelbeckerman7532 8 have a Vizio m series from 2020 that's still good to go. I hate it's implementation of cec and earc audio but it was cheap!
It’s a shame. Ten years ago their tvs were the quality/affordable option. It was my first tv I bought with my own money and I loved it.
will Vizio provide a update to the units with smart cast to update to Home screen?
Just returned my 85 in Quantum X for the new 85 TCL QM8...I'll have it by next Sat.
@@Comics.Games.Kickspodcast you made the right choice.
I just purchase the new V505M-K09, I wouldn't know the good from the bad, I'll keep this in the back of my mind..
Thank you for the video..
I'm just trying to watch tnt espn I could before the TV updated how do I fix that on my vizio???
What's with the extra time-consuming animations as you clicked through the home screens? Can those be turned off?
Wait. When was Vizio someplace it should aspire to go back to?
wonder if they will offer an update to download this new homescreen.
All of this exactly. Vizio is purely a russian roulette purchase. Firmware and software is pure trash, the bugs are infuriating.
Still have and use a 1080p Vizio tv from Costco. Sad to see what happened to the brand
Biggest issue with smarcast was not be able to be used in mexico and canada. Do they work now in other countries?
Any update on a Vizio Quantum Pro review?
Any idea why my tv keeps showing a new purple screen saying cant connect to internet? Also, i keep getting a black screen that says "error 500". We only use the tv for streaming prime, hulu, peacock. Help!
Video Home Screen abbreviated is VHS. Did not someone within Vizio see this?
I wonder will it be possible for a firmware flash or whatever it would take to upgrade recent Vizio Quantum X Series TV's like from 2022 and up?
Vizio isn't dead, and I think they can comeback. It's going to come down to if they want to make significant changes in their TVs. The issues you pointed out Caleb. But one issue stood out from the rest is the motion handling on their TV's. As far as partnership goes. They can partner up with the NHL, MLB, or someone else. I do think they need to release another OLED and make some Mini-LED model TV's. TCL and even Hisense are passing them by and have passed them buy. Imagine getting wrecked by Hisense. Vizio used to be the king of budget TVs.
They just need to make more reliable TVs. That has been their achilles heel for the past 5 years or so.
Yes, my 7.5 year old M70-C3 is starting to show issues with the known capacitor problems on the power supply board.
Quality control issues hurt Vizio bigtime
@@MTNRangerhad a capacitor issue with one of their sound bars. Luckily it was an easy fix to do myself.
I like the new Home Screen on my Vizio TV. But one thing I don't like is the "Recent Apps" feature. I wish there was a way I could remove it or at least clear my recently viewed apps.
Great review. BUT Where's the Update of Nakamichi Dragon. Anything......
I'm restless to know about Dragon from you Sir Caleb...... ❤
I have the MQX (2023) and it’s a great TV haven’t let me down, I got it for my Series X and the games look and feel amazing
How many model years back will receive the new Vizio Home Screen in a firmware update?
Hey bro what song is being played at the outro of this video? Funky jam i like it.
If it is similar to the Q7, then it's not looking good.
i have an 8-year-old model that won't update anymore, so i assume your speaking on the new purchased television sets.
I think TV should be simplified! That stuff I just saw is just a cluster of nonesense. I have a Apple TV and a PS5 that does all of that perfectly.
I own 5 Vizio TVs. I am fine with the brand. I love the new home screen.
man im actually tv shopping rite now i already have a vizo 4k 65 inch for my game room. plays fantastic for xbox at full 4k hdr. now going to up the size in the living room to 70”. i dont have the space for anything bigger but they have the quality that im looking for. it plays fantastic!!!! when im looking for a new one i check ur channel first
Doesn't almost everyone use some kind of streaming device anyway? I personally don't use eARC because of lip sync issues that bother me deeply. I can only fix it when using a streaming stick.
The 2018 PQ was amazing. It had brightness well over 2000 nits, contrast matching the Sony Z9 and Samsung QFN9, BT2020 coverage of 81%, and was affordable at 65 inches. I feel like they were so ahead of the field at the time, and could have built on that.
My 2018 PQ had so many issues. I would never advise anyone to buy a VIZIO TV. Upgraded to an LG C2 and never looked back.
@@LA_DesignerDo you miss the brightness?
@@MFRiley Hell no. You don't need that much brightness unless your TV is in a room full of windows with a ton of daylight coming in.
Do you think Vizio will ever add a browser or let us side load apps?
I have the Vizio D-x-G9 since 2019 & it’s still working like new & the colors look nice especially if you’re using a fire tv stick
For being a smart tv ,once the remote acts up ,u can't manuely control your tv volume and on and off only,my old tv I can completely control without a remote, not bad for a dumb tv
Cool video! Id like to add that there are other investment options in businesses like cannafarm ltd as well.

Vizio needs to take a big look at the market and reinvent themselves from a couple aspects
1, adopt a universal OS. I’d say FireTV. With the growth of Ring and the Alexa ecosystem and even home builders like Lennar giving people a starter Ring security system, them being in that ecosystem will sell itself especially if they offer higher end product options, which almost never offer FireTV
2, they need to reevaluate their tv line up so it’s more comparable to the rest of the market and can actually compete.
V Series: 43”-75” 60Hz Direct Lit QD-LCD
M Series 50”-85” 120Hz FALD QD-LCD
P Series 50”-85” 120Hz FALD QD-LCD with a higher zone count
P Series Quantum 65”-98” MiniLED QD-LCD with a very premium design
H Series: at least make it compete with the LG B series so it can be $1300 at holiday season and offer it in 55”-77”
3, get their damn quality control together.
Fingers crossed it lasts 2 years if that
My 65PQX-H1 is still rocking!
I have a 46 inch Vizio .... I am a Vizio fan
You may like Vizio's new UI, but many Vizio owners don't thanks to one simple misstep -- merging OTA TV channels into WatchFree. That is causing massive complaints on Vizio's subreddit. Why couldn't they have left OTA channels alone?
I have a 75in Vizio P Series Quantum X, love it, amazing PQ!!!
Nice video keep up the good work fella
Thought so. But mine just went kerplunk random 😢
I have a 15 year old Vizio that still works great. Willing to give them some leeway and maybe purchase a new one.
I just bought an mqx. Hopefully this update will come to my tv
CALEB (on Vizio): "I sense that some big changes are happening!" 🤣
I have a Hisense! 👍📺
the last best vizio TV i had was the 2019 M series quantum 43 inch tv.
This TV (at least mine, M437-G0) is 4k 120HZ
My first clue that Vizio was cutting corners was when their P-Series Quantum X Models, (the best LCD Vizio ever made) was downgraded to the M-Series.
Bought a 43 inch Vizio smart screen last week. Apps kept disappearing and picture went to black. Vizio said to reset tv. Nothing worked. Took it back to Best Buy and got a TCL Google TV. Vizio is a hot mess.
Agreed 👍 Great video!
