I am a type one diabetic and matpat used a picture of the same brand as my pump and Jack hacked the same brand. Dying from having too much insulin in my system is my worst fear. This was actually really scary to me.

Want to know what's worse about the power grid? The entire power grid is hierarchical, to the degree that each region depends entirely on a single power station. If you crash this keystone station, you take out the region's power. And there are about twelve such stations in the USA. As such, if a coordinated attack were to take place, the entire country's power would go out instantaneously.
What's worse is THAT hacking can happen anywhere in the world..
You could be living in the U.S. and get hacked by SOMEONE at the other side if the world!!
And if you thought the scary..well that's the START!! This video was made in 2014 just 4 year's ago and TECHNOLOGY has evolved even more ever SINCE!!! Making it easier to get valuable information from people or other state's....
The worst case scenario could be if someone hacked the U.S. or Russia's military computers and somehow get access to missel launch codes....They have "DESTRUCTION" whit the touch of button!! And MatPat said hacking can go undetected or untraceable so they won't notice it or find out who did it and will have no trace of a ciber attack. Making it"THE PREFECT CRIME"

That 2003 Midwest and Northeast blackout was actually referenced in Watch_Dogs. It was credited to a guy who intentionally caused the blackout to demonstrate vulnerabilities and convince the masses that the cities were unprotected. However, he unintentionally took 11 lives in the process and was labeled a cyber criminal since, to which an underground hacker group was formed in his name with the same purpose in mind.
I saw that reference when playing the game. Didn't realise it was connected to that event. Good to know

I've browsed the deep web, which can only be accessed with a special browser, and found websites where you can buy credit card information and hacking systems or codes to hack into businesses. Thing is, some men just want to watch the world burn. There are plenty of people out there who don't have the shred of humanity you speak about. And how long do you think it'll take for one of them to buy a computer instead of a gun?
I remember hearing stories from my parents about that blackout in 2003. And hearing it come out of someone else’s mouth simultaneously amazes me and scares me. My parents kept telling how horrible it was. And that just scared me. But, again, it scares me even more coming from someone else. Knowing that other people were experiencing the same thing.
We really need to start building “sanity checks” into systems. Something like a pacemaker being able to think, “Wait, 830 volts?! That doesn’t sound right.” Unfortunately, that sort of intelligence is very difficult.

Death is coming and we can't escape it
So I know this was made 8 years ago, but I just watched it so here's a comment from someone who works in the medtech industry.
1) Yes, technically anything implanted that can be programmed via wireless communication is hackable
2) There tends to be a lot of cybersecurity around these devices (in no small part due to some academic papers showing that these devices are theoretically hackable)
3) There are not many valid attempts at hacking these devices, especially since it would usually have to be extremely close proximity. Pacemakers and ICDs for example you'd have to be literally touching the body.
4) The FDA (and equivilent for other countries) requires a lot of medical device reporting, especially for Class 3 (life sustaining mostly). This means if you die because of like a heart attack, the company gets notified and the pacemaker gets sent back and the company is required to do analysis on the device to ensure it was not malfunctioning.
5) Even now in 2022, there is still no actual hacking of an implanted device (at least not ICD and pacemakers) that I know of, outside of academic 'look its theoretically possible'.

being a fairly advanced coder, it is extremely easy and I mean EXTREMELY easy to miss a mistake in your codes especially when writing thousands of lines of code. your program or application may work perfectly fine after multitudes of tests but there are almost always "cracks" or bugs that can be utilized to completely shut down or even alter the way the program or application "thinks" such as a website that involves the entering of a username and password, you can alter a line of code potentially simply denying access to those who you don't want to have access giving allowing you to essentially steal whatever information you want from the account while you have their denial of access, even worse scenario being what is commonly known as a keylog whic will route all valuable information typed like usernames, passwords, credit card information and such directly to whoever you want to send it to.

You people *do* realize that if there were actually hackers that wanted to do anything Mat listed, they would've been smart enough to think about doing these things a *looong* time ago?
Mat's just a guy who talks on the internet who was able to quickly and easily learn all this from a few Google searches, so why would these supposed hackers that would do these things not have thought "Maybe looking at previous hacking incidents and playing this game about hacking would give me an idea." by now?
For them to have *not* already thought of such things would mean that they'd be unbelievably stupid for hackers.
Speaking of the Slenderman, will you ever do a video about Slender: The Eight Pages and Slender: The Arrival? And maybe expand it even further by doing the whole mythos on Film Theory? Gotta admit, this series really deserves attention. I would love to see a Game/Film Theory series that would "unmask" the scariest figure of the internet culture. Have been a big fan for awhile.

Later Clara is killed and there is all of that sad and depressing cutscene (And then you realise it was her who left the roses on the grave once a week) After that you catch one of the killers and you ask him who send them , he will say it was *Damien Brenks*..and then , after that there will be the final mission i think....
