About JamesandKarla:
Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.
In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.
We made it our mission to thoroughly document unique 'mom-and-pop' stores when we began to notice the alarming rate at which they were disappearing. Our critically acclaimed books include “STORE FRONT: The Disappearing Face of New York”, “New York Nights”, “STORE FRONT II- A History Preserved” and “Broken Windows-Graffiti NYC”.

I'm very impressed with the selection of vinyl they have, but I don't think I'll ever be visiting this store anytime soon since it doesn't seem to carry CD's.
That area is where I grew up in the 90s.

That Massive Attack is one of the best albums of the 90's ! Teardrop with Elizabeth Frazier on vocals is my favorite track. She was the singer of The Cocteau Twins & dated Jeff Buckley. Imagine if they had a child 😳 ! Nice Blondie album as well. Cool store.
Thank you so much David! We love the store too and the Massive Attack Mezzanine album we got at Deep Cuts. We already owned it on CD but it sounds so much better on the vinyl which we have listened to twice already. The Blondie album we got also sounds great especially since it was a used copy but it was in excellent condition.

would you open that mezzanine album, or is it to stay sealed?
Nick we have opened it and played it in entirety twice already! Our vinyl collection is definitely for listening 👂🏻😍 but many others would want to keep such a gem sealed!

at 2.23 in Unkle never never land. only the 2nd time ive ever seen that in a shop i had a copy here in the uk in my hands for £75 for the ffirst time ever and i thought im going to get shouted at if i spend all this money i was lent .. dont go mad i was told .... ( i know im 40 and male . and clearly still not willing to grow up ) . but yea ive never seen that lp in a store till now . As for massive attack mezzamine that was teh sound track to my end of high school party . an amazing album . and a top buy
