I blame mostly the mother for her poor parenting for 3 reasons. 1- Mrs. Allen was always encouraging her daughter which is what she should, but, never taught her to lose gracefully. Brook needed to learn you win some, you lose some. 2- There was no discipline. Mrs. Allen never held her daughter accountable for her actions. Probably never faced any consequences. 3- Setting a bad example. The only lesson Mrs. Allen is teaching her daughter is "If things don't go your way, you threatened to sue someone." So, Mrs. Allen won't get my vote for mother of the year.
It's human nature to be told what you want to hear. There's something I was told by a close family friend of mine, the man was a retired detective. He told me that the Truth is a blunt force instrument, and that if you want to use it, bring it down hard. I want live up to that.
You know this also happened before in an Season 6 episode that Jennette McCurdy guest starred in, where she was raped, but she falsely accused her uncle of molesting her, because she was afraid of telling the Detectives who really did it.
This is why I think false accusers should have jail time. 1) It ruins it for real victims who come forward and are automatically believed to be liars. 2) False accusations ruin people's lives. I think we should always believe the victim, but if the accusation comes back false then the person should go to prison.
Well the tricky thing is it’s not always “The accused is guilty” or “the accuser is lying.” There can be cases where abuse happened, but the wrong guy was arrested, or something rather benign that was misconstrued as harassment. In these cases, no one should go to jail, but the courts don’t always see it that way.
No you’re wrong always believe the victims? Did you now watch this? It’s a perfect example of not just rubber stamping believing a victim but rather investigating and getting to the truth. If we just always believe the victim then why even bother with a trial or innocent till proven guilty? Smfh
I agree that there should be some form of punishment if it’s proven that it was false, as just the accusations can ruin someone’s life forever. However, a huge problem is that introducing punishments for wrongful accusers might lead to actual victims being afraid to speak out. If you were a victim, but thought that you didn’t have any proof that you were actually abused, you might reconsider going to the police, as you could be afraid that without any proof they would punish you. Add to that that many victims already find it hard to go to authorities, and you’ll end up with a lot of people refusing to report out of fear.
Yeah, at least she very disappoints of her daughter's actions. Kinda made me feel bad because she seems to be a good mom trying her best to raise her daughter right until this THING happened, maybe because of the influence of her friend Brooke.
@Lily Casey I agree tbh I want more episodes like this but also for the accusers to some kind of punishment for destroying someone’s life, and for the victim they accused to get some kind of compensation.
Technically Jackie could have sued the family for defamation and have the SVU not involved in the case simply because A. It's not a Sex crime anymore B. They clearly shown bias and can affect any further investigation.
+Ladyejustice8690 Yeah, they should've gone to juvenile hall for what they did. They may be minors but they know perfectly well that it's illegal to lie to the police. Their little brothers don't know any better but they do. Brooke picked up this behavior from her mother. Her mother should be seen as an unfit parent and Brooke and Jonah's father should be given full custody of them and their mother supervised visitation rights.
+Alexander Edward Pytko of course but like barba said the only way to prove it would be to put the 4 year olds on the stand, and the defense could tun it around, basically they would make it look like the boys are too confused or unreliable. i still think the guy could hit them with a civil suit for false accusations and lying but the problem still remains.
MAnnaconduit1 Yeah but Jackie deserves justice. Well, even if he does go after those girls with a civil suit, it's not going to repair his reputation, nothing will. Rollins warned that because Jackie is a celebrity, if it becomes public knowledge that he's being charged for child molesting his image will be forever tarnished, even if he's proven innocent. When he was brought to court with the charges, the courtroom was filled to the brink with people but when he returned to court to have the charges dropped, the courtroom was empty. There were no cameras or reporters anywhere because nobody cared. That's the thing with celebrities, the media spends more time making them look bad than making them look good because making them look bad sells a lot more. A famous example is OJ Simpson's murder trial. He's now remembered most for that. Now Jackie is going to be remembered for those child molesting charges instead of his reputation as a music teacher and vocal trainer. My girlfriend actually heard about a similar situation. A teacher was charged for molesting a 16 year old boy. But then it was discovered that the boy lied about the whole thing. Although, the charges against the teacher were dropped, his reputation was ruined.
The mother clearly hasn't set a good example for her children at all, especially if her eldest daughter has acted in such an undignified manner, by dragging others into her twisted plot to tarnish the reputation of a highly respected teacher.
The Truth is a blunt force instrument. The smart thing to do is take the hit and learn from it. Sometimes what I like to do to liars is use the truth and every disgusting fact about them and dismantle them.
3:01 - 3:07 This is one of the parts that pissed me the most...the moment her mother realized what that little brat of hers did, instead of scolding her she stayed by her side!
Talk about supporting their child, no matter what. Personally, I would never tell a person how to raise their child. But what Brooke did to Jackie...was wrong! Mrs. Allen knew deep down she failed as a parent and STILL supported and protected her child. #whiteprivilege101
At least the other mother is very disappointed and in horror on Rachel's doing. Kinda made me feel bad because she seems to be a good mom trying her best to raise her daughter right until this THING happened, maybe because of the influence of her friend Brooke.
This also happened to Jackie because Benson was being so stubborn. Everything Jackie said, Benson kept trying to find a way to tie it to what the boys were saying. She would only look at things from one side, the boys'. When Jackie said that he didn't have $1 Million to pay bail and he has no one to help him, Benson, still being stubborn, believed that Jackie was just trying to play the sympathy card. She wouldn't look at it from all angles which is what investigators are supposed to do. Rollins was the only one giving Jackie the benefit of the doubt. Rollins should've said, "Benson, don't you think you're being a little stubborn about this?"
Jackie should have done more so this doesn't happen again by saying to them what happens when you get put in a same situation again next time you could find yourself out of a job.
Honestly for me, Benson and Amaro got me mad because I feel like they were going too harsh on Jackie Walker. Didn’t even give him a chance tell his side of the story during the interrogation. Rollins has to be my favorite character in this episode because even she thinks that was a little too much
They should ask Brooke this, "Tell us something, Brooke. How does getting Jackie thrown in jail help you in becoming a star?" When it's learned that Brooke set Jackie up, I bet no one will want to even listen to her sing because she's dishonest and can't be trusted.
Sadly this kind of stuff happens a lot in real life. And the worst part is that even an accusation of this kind will ruin someone’s reputation AND life ..
My solution to cut down on false rape allegations: if they can prove someone maliciously falsely accused someone of sexual misconduct when they did nothing, then they should give the accuser the same amount of jail time the accused was looking at AND have them registered as a sex offender.
I'm on the wall about the registry, since this thing is public (but not the reason why they are in for) it does lead to more revenge and trouble. But I completely agree with the jail time
I just saw this episode. Benson, Amaro and Barba trying to obsolve themselves at the end was disgusting. I'm glad Jackie and Amanda said the things they said to them.
Very few episodes of this show piss me off but those girls were absolutely heinous. Not only did they actively harm a cause so many people fight for (believing victims of sexual assault and pedophilia) but they irrevocably damaged an innocent man's career and reputation. What they did should have gone on their permanent records.
This is my problem with Law & Order SVU. The SVU goes out of their way to protect women and punish criminals, and that's good. But they do nothing to protect innocent men and give them justice.
The law doesn't protect innocent men either. Sure they can sue their accusers after they've been proven innocent but the accusers won't be fined nor serve time and you won't be allowed to sue the police officer for ignoring the facts.
If every episode ended happily(sort of), then it wouldn't give the suspence factor it does. Even though the twists are really good, you can't deny it gives the episode a little more depth. That's just my opinion...
Actually SVU doesn't have to. People should change their mentality about people who were falsely accused. Where is This worry for a very minor group of people compared to the thousands of people who get victimized bybthe actual rapists?
@@NotMykl Are you serious? He can't sue the police for that?, they rush to trial and wouldn't even listen to him. I was feeling a little relieve for the fact that he could sue NYPD and get some compensation for the damage done, but now am even more irritated on hearing that he can't sue NYPD 🙁🙁🙁.
Benson is a dangerous idealist. She can save a lot of lives but her narrow and biased perspective can also ruin a lot of lives if the so called perp that she is chasing is unlucky enough to be innocent. This is a good example of that
@Horace Halt I agree. Tbh I get that men are the obvious suspects for crimes like rape and murder but maybe the detectives should cover all their facts before they ruin someone’s life.
@@jesuscoyt-munoz2753My problem with this it feels out of character considering In a previous episode, a man was accused of raping his stepson holding a bone at gunpoint and she believed him.
That’s the problem as an investigator you’re supposed to be unbiased go into the situation with no preconceived notions and even so be open minded enough to evidence contradicting that. I am tired of Benson she was good in the beginning but has gotten way too woke and way too idealist and way too modern feminist and way too cynical
Brooke: I didn't do this to Jackie. Jackie did this to me. I'd say to her, "Oh? So you're saying that Jackie forced you to do something that you knew perfectly well was wrong and ILLEGAL? Nothing you say can justify what you did to Jackie! You had no right to do this just because Jackie didn't tell you what you wanted to hear!" If Mrs. Allen said, "Stop it! You can't talk to my daughter like that!" I'd say, "Mrs. Allen, do realize that because of your daughter, we've wasted a lot of police time AND TAX PAYER MONEY?! All of that was thrown away because of something that didn't even happen! If anything, the city should sue YOU!"
There needs to be more female cops like Amanda Rollins, especially in "True Blue" cities like LA. and NYC, where too often things like this happen because of SJWs (especially rabid feminists) screaming "believe the victims no matter what".
Kelly Kiddish has really grown in her character. It's hard to believe that she is a mom like Mariska Hargitay. I like how the writers use the fact that her two pregnancies where are the result of two different fathers.
I think the real lesson here is that you shouldn't treat your children like spoiled little princesses, because the moment the real world hits them and the only thing they can think to do is ruin someone else's life, you know that you screwed up as a parent.
Bruh go to 2:41, you’ll see Mrs Allen’s face after Brooke says “I know how good I am, I know I’m gonna be a star, my whole life everyone’s been telling me that.” She probably knows the real truth
Props to the actor that played Jackie. He had me crying the whole episode. Personally, I feel like his character should have been killed in jail, added more intensity to the girls character.
@@Artist_Unbound I'm with you When you Watched beyond scared straight, where the inmate tell the kid how bad it is in here you might a super pissed than usual
Real unfortunately… if that were to happen, the girls who made the fraudulent claim of sex assault would’ve gotten lawyers that would’ve filed a counter suit against Billy Porter’s character. That’s facts.
When I look back at this episode, even though I skip it, I fell like, if Jackie Walker (the signing coach) was from the West Side, and taught one of the New York City's big-name choirs, those girls (Brooke Allen & Rachel Burns) would've been charged as adults instead of as minors
At the very end, I was highly pissed off. The fact they didn't want to put the kids through the hardship again is what really got to me. And all because Mr. Jackie dropped them to prevent a future disaster coming to them due to their non-singing butts. The truth hurts when things come to light.
2:41....that look....that is the face of a mother who just realized she failed in parenting her child...she now realizes she created a terrible human being who is willing to manipulate her little brother, the police, and basically anyone who even disses her just once...And the mother knows when word gets out of what her daughter did...all eyes will be on her.....
This is a case of a major issue with SVU. Any time it’s a female perpetrator or male victim, there’s always some hint of “oh, this is why it’s ok”. But in the same situation with a male perp and female victim, the man is always vilified to the fullest extent (which, in most cases, is the right decision). They also use different language. If the pedophile is a female, it’s not rape or molestation, it’s sex or affair
That's a common pattern I notice in SVU that when a person is falsely arrested it's Liv who pushed for the person to be charged. Don't get me wrong I love her character, but she needs to control her emotions when it comes to cases like these. I notice in her character when it comes to young children or teenage girls that she doesn't even talk to the accused or try to see if the person really did what he did. She took the girl's words and ruined another man's life. it was Rollins who tried to push the others to investigate more before they brought him in and she was seen as the villain not wanting to get justice, but in reality, she just wanted to make sure Jackie did what the girls said he did.
Another way this could've ended, Mrs. Allen and Brooke are waiting and Odafin and Rollins comes in. Rollins: The judge has decided not have your daughter thrown in juvenile hall. They both sigh in relief. Odafin: THAT'S the good news, however. Mrs. Allen: What's the bad news. Odafin: She's not off the hook. For what she's done, she and Rachael will be doing 1,000 hours of community service. Brooke: 500 hours, each?! Rollins: No, 1,000 hours each. You two will be doing it on the weekends since you have school. Mrs. Allen: Every weekend for the next 2 years? Odafin: No, they'll be doing every single day during the summer, as well. That'll shorten it to less than 2 years. Brooke: No! I have plans for the summer and I make plans on the weekends. Rollins: You should've thought of that before manipulated your little brother into lying about Mr. Walker. Brooke: This isn't fair! Mom, don't let them do this. Mrs. Allen: I do think this is a little extreme. Rollins: Extreme?! Mrs. Allen, your daughter caused an innocent man to go to jail and for his life to be ruined! Odafin: She caused a lot of time and tax payer dollars to be wasted! Plus, thanks to her, this police department is now going to have another false arrest on record! She's lucky to be getting off this easy! Brooke's eyes open wide with fear.
Jackie deserved more retribution from his accusers and the SVU (Olivia especially). They ruined his life, should only be fair that their lives get ruined, too.
@@titang6173 I hope they made an episode where This person wants revenge against Benson for putting his relatives in prison for something he or she didn't do.
Except for Rollins. She tried to be mature and actually do her job right but everyone kept pushing her aside and making it seem like she was the bad guy for questioning the victim's allegations.
I don't get why the girls weren't charged. They filed a false claim, and who knows, they MAY have done something to the little boy to add credibility to the story. Who cares if they're kids.... they abused the police system to get revenge on a man who gave them a chance, saw they didn't have what it takes, and moved on... because that's the nature of his career. They committed a felony, and deserve to go to jail.
I agree with Jackie. After they found out he was telling the truth. They only apologized. Which made him furious. Like Jackie said "I'm sorry" isn't going to fix all of this. He cried and begged them that he didn't do anything wrong, and all they did was yell at him and made him lose both his jobs and reputations. I just wished they had a better ending for poor Jackie than that. 😠 I was mad at everyone except for the kids and Rollins. Because the kids didn't really understand. And Rollins, was the only one how didn't believe Jackie was a Pedophile, even if he was she didn't immediately arrest him like Benson, Nick and the officers. She took things slow and said we need more evidence. And just because it looks like someone did it, doesn't mean it's actually them. 😇
Something that always bothers me with svu is they always find a way to make the women the victim, a women could have cut a man open in the street in front of olivia and olivia would be like "something is wrong why would she do that it doesnt make any sense" she will then find out the women had sex 15 years ago and didnt like it the next mornig and has now a trauma and thats why she kills people, Barba would be like "bla bla bla reasons" and the jury would be like "not guilty" It sounds so stupid but the amount of times it happens its crazy stupid.
I was thinking it would be cool if they did a sequel to this episode where Jackie sues the NYPD and Brook and the whole episode would be a commentary on false rape. In the end Brook (now a grown adult) would be forced to pay Jackie thousands of dollars in restitution or go to jail, but she can’t afford it and must turn to her parents for help but her dad isn’t willing to pay for her so she goes to prison. They already did a sequel episode to “Born Psychopath”, why not do one on this episode too!!!

This was run again on a SVU marathon today I remember when this first aired my first ever seeing Billy Porter and gaining knowledge of who he is. In the height of racial tension around the world and this month being Pride month I think it was a good thought to revisit this as the show always brings light to diversity challenges this one unfortunately did not have a positive outcome nor was there any outcry that followed. In their effort to address injustice I cannot remember any occasion where African Americans were advocated for unless they were female rape victims. I maybe wrong I am hoping so...
the blonde lawyer cracked me the f up with her facial expression and delivery when she said "they've been telling you that your whole life? then it must have really SUCKED when you found out everyone had been lying to you..."!!!
Look, I really like Benson, but when I read through the episode and watched this clip, I just can't comprehend how easily her emotions control her and make her side immediately with the victims. Despite Jackie's pleas, she went out with this *publicly* And someone stop me from punchin Brooke in the face, in all honesty, I would've told her: You are arrogant, you are spoiled and you will do ANYTHING to get your way. How lucky will you be from now on when you have falsely accused a man of such a horrible action? ...Yeah? Didn't think so. Good luck with your singing career.
"Do as I say! Not as I do!" What's the point of parents saying that to their children? Especially when they see them act so indignitantly. Children will naturally assume that their elders know better than them, even when they don't. It's that very nature that throws future generations into a state of turmoil in their adolescence, thus making it exceedingly difficult for them to judge right from wrong.
As a child I was assumed that adult people knew everything. And I mean “EVERYTHING”. It wasn’t until I was a teenager that I saw that most adults aren’t very bright. Some can be very wrong and there are some who believe that they know absolutely everything because they’re adults. I’m 26 and I can tell ya, I ain’t bright most of the time.

This episode highlights the importance of why "innocent until proven guilty" is the bedrock principle of any rational and moral justice system.
You know this also happened before in an Season 6 episode that Jennette McCurdy guest starred in, where she was raped, but she falsely accused her uncle of molesting her, because she was afraid of telling the Detectives who really did it.
Wat episode is this
I know this is 2 years late but the system has this but public opinion is another thing. Humans are just plain stupid and stubborn.
@@LorTevin season 15 episode 7
Media would eat it up if the justice system announced something. once it appeared you can never take it down.
This is why I think false accusers should have jail time.
1) It ruins it for real victims who come forward and are automatically believed to be liars.
2) False accusations ruin people's lives.
I think we should always believe the victim, but if the accusation comes back false then the person should go to prison.
This is something I’ve been saying for as long as I can breathe. And I absolutely agree with you.
Smfh
Absolutely 💯
I agree that there should be some form of punishment if it’s proven that it was false, as just the accusations can ruin someone’s life forever.
However, a huge problem is that introducing punishments for wrongful accusers might lead to actual victims being afraid to speak out. If you were a victim, but thought that you didn’t have any proof that you were actually abused, you might reconsider going to the police, as you could be afraid that without any proof they would punish you. Add to that that many victims already find it hard to go to authorities, and you’ll end up with a lot of people refusing to report out of fear.
At least Rachel's mother forced her daughter to tell the truth!
Yeah, at least she very disappoints of her daughter's actions. Kinda made me feel bad because she seems to be a good mom trying her best to raise her daughter right until this THING happened, maybe because of the influence of her friend Brooke.
Think Allison seemed to really like Jackie. Like when the PD barges into his classroom and she's looking outside she looks genuinely concerned
I absolutly love this episode it just shows how lies can destroy a innocent mans life and the accusers get away scott free brillant acting
It's not the first time it happen on svu.
@Lily Casey I agree tbh I want more episodes like this but also for the accusers to some kind of punishment for destroying someone’s life, and for the victim they accused to get some kind of compensation.
Technically Jackie could have sued the family for defamation and have the SVU not involved in the case simply because
A. It's not a Sex crime anymore
B. They clearly shown bias and can affect any further investigation.
This whole episode is the epitome of Guilty until proven innocent.
That's right.
I really wish Law & Order could/would do a sequel to this episode so that Jackie could get justice and his reputation repaired in the end.
Amen.
Amen
That doesn't happen in real life. Ever. Once is out there, the doubt always stays. It doesn't matter if you are proven innocent. Whats done is done
What episode and season
@@Dinzey12 Or they could bring those 2 girls back for a future episode, where something happens to them, and they have to go to SVU once again.
They got off too easy.
Women can basically write a false police report and get away with it, even in their adulthood. It happens all the time.
The mother clearly hasn't set a good example for her children at all, especially if her eldest daughter has acted in such an undignified manner, by dragging others into her twisted plot to tarnish the reputation of a highly respected teacher.
Amanda had me rollin she said "sucked" so powerfully 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Destroying that guy's life, all just because they couldn't stomach the truth: that they just didn't have the right stuff.
The Truth is a blunt force instrument. The smart thing to do is take the hit and learn from it. Sometimes what I like to do to liars is use the truth and every disgusting fact about them and dismantle them.
Revenge on her teacher? That's sick and unforgiveable.
They didn't learn from Confucious. "When embarking on a journey of revenge dig two graves".
Tell that to Jerry middle school or high school student who are the favor with teacher they didn't like or principal they didn't like.
Moral of the story is dont frame innocent people or jump to any conclusions
I’ve had some teachers I didn’t like but on my worst day I couldn’t make up false allegations
It can happen anytime these days with kids getting an education on being vengeful! ;-(
The ending of this episode almost spot on reflected how the case would have gone on in the real world today.
3:01 - 3:07 This is one of the parts that pissed me the most...the moment her mother realized what that little brat of hers did, instead of scolding her she stayed by her side!
@Kashion Fashion WHAT-THE-HECK.
@Kashion Fashion I'm sorry,but I haven't understood a single thing of what you said.
Alexander Edward Pytko I was so dissapointed in both Olivia and Nick. To me, they were the villains in this one.
This happens to POC ALL THE TIME especially when accused by a white woman
benson doesn't have instincts. She has daddy issues
Jackie should have done more so this doesn't happen again by saying to them what happens when you get put in a same situation again next time you could find yourself out of a job.

They should ask Brooke this, "Tell us something, Brooke. How does getting Jackie thrown in jail help you in becoming a star?"
When it's learned that Brooke set Jackie up, I bet no one will want to even listen to her sing because she's dishonest and can't be trusted.
Just like Tonya Harding.

Sadly this kind of stuff happens a lot in real life. And the worst part is that even an accusation of this kind will ruin someone’s reputation AND life ..
2:37 "I know I'm gonna be a star and my whole life everybody's been telling me that." Wow
She sounds like the actual bad audition people on the real American idol. She needs Simon Cowell to take her down a notch.
The ending was annoying, frustrating, and sad.

Very few episodes of this show piss me off but those girls were absolutely heinous. Not only did they actively harm a cause so many people fight for (believing victims of sexual assault and pedophilia) but they irrevocably damaged an innocent man's career and reputation. What they did should have gone on their permanent records.
What are the other ones I personally put burned up there as well
They have now also made it harder for real victims because if they come forward people are most likely going to think that they are lying.
Me too
This is my problem with Law & Order SVU.
SVU is intimidating real life. This happens irl.

@Horace Halt I agree. Tbh I get that men are the obvious suspects for crimes like rape and murder but maybe the detectives should cover all their facts before they ruin someone’s life.

That’s the problem as an investigator you’re supposed to be unbiased go into the situation with no preconceived notions and even so be open minded enough to evidence contradicting that. If Mrs. Allen said, "Stop it! You can't talk to my daughter like that!"
I'd say, "Mrs. Allen, do realize that because of your daughter, we've wasted a lot of police time AND TAX PAYER MONEY?! All of that was thrown away because of something that didn't even happen! If anything, the city should sue YOU!"

Truth is only harsh if you're unable to face it. -Stewart Stafford
That eye roll at 2:53 is EPIC. How do you even learn to do that?!
That's one of those "you have to be BORN with it" eyerolls.
Coaching their brothers to lie that's hardball even for teenagers.
Wow - SVU actually acknowledges false allegations
Not the first episode and it usually liv's fault
Yet another episode where Benson and company ruined an innocent man's life and just walked away.
Benson and Amaro... It doesn't even look like she was once under Cragen's command, learned nothing from his stance as a captain
okay wait this is random but i love rachel’s mom in this scene like we rarely get good authentic moms in svu that won’t take their children’s bs
Another way this could've ended,
Mrs.
