The fact that there are numerous dog meat restaurants in any major city in China shows that plenty of Chinese people do eat dogs just as the fact that Halal restaurants exist in any major city in Germany shows that there are muslims who only eat Halal food in Germany. I don’t see what’s so hard to understand about this. It's important to acknowledge the diversity of human cultures. The aversion to eating dog meat is largely a Western idea and doesn't represent all of humanity. You don't have the right to judge other cultures. Without having lived and experienced a particular culture, you don't have the standing to criticize it.
Finally, for the sake of world peace, I’ve thought of a solution to the above problem: simply make everyone Buddhist and only allow vegetarian food. However, I'm not sure if you could handle a lifetime of no alcohol, no lying, no marriage, and absolutely no contact with the opposite sex.
