    A 19 year Guild wars player here, GW1 and 2. I must admit my heart is still with GW1 although I rarely visit anymore as my friends list of past players long gone makes me a little sad.

      I'm only 23, meaning I've no idea what it's like to play a game online for 20+ years - but this made me really sad to read. It must be difficult to see all those inactive players, and wonder where they're all at now. I hope your new friends and experiences since then have been able to provide you with the same level of fulfilment.

      @@vegemite.sandwich It is bittersweet. Sometimes the names bring back fun memories and interactions, so its not all sadness. It is pretty much like thinking of long lost friends from school though, as you say , wondering where they are now, hoping they are healthy and have been having fun

    I am considering getting into FF14 for the first time. I'd like to start from the very start of the game and slowly work my way through all of the story that's been added over the years.. is that possible? Is it a realistic thing to try and do for a new player?

      Of course. The way how daily works, it is one of the most newbie friendly MMOs. You can even start with the free trials and play the story for free until Stormblood, the 2nd expansion.

      You actually have to. There is no other way around it. The leveling has a slow enough pace that lets you enjoy and go through every main story mission with no skips in time (sorry, Chromie). ah, also, no skips .... you will understand what I mean, if you ever reach the raid daily part of the game.
      Have fun!

      Going through the story from the beginning is mandatory.

      treat FF14 as a JRPG first and an MMO second. in fact basically all content is locked behind the story. you need to progress to specific parts to unlocks specific things

    Where are you getting these numbers from?

  • @Gn8Lif3

    not a fan of any of this
    and it is mainly due to the mindset of mmo players wich is harming not only mmos but is a bad influence on other rpg games aswell
    short explenation "be the best over fun " "only help if you get something out of it"

      I would say it is because gw2 players used to come from gw
      And at the time gw released this mindset i am talking about had not yet spred

    uh, sorry but Albion Online is not on this list, and only on steam it has 15k daily players, which accounts for quite a small amount of the player base. Not sure whats the criteria but clearly this list is wrong

  • @ItzAcheon

    Where did you get the osrs daily player count numbers. Osrs peak player count of all time wasn't even 300k combining rs3 with osrs. Osrs averages about 120 - 130 k players daily.
    Also if you don't know:
    RS3 = newer version of runescape with normalized mmo ability system.
    OSRS = 2007 version of Runescape

    • @ItzAcheon
      @ItzAcheon 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      and you have to take into consideration that osrs has a huge botting problem. So many arn't even real people.

    • @SnowCabbageGamer
      @SnowCabbageGamer 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      the 120-130k is active players online at the same time. the 360k is players throughout the entire day averaged over a month.

      @@SnowCabbageGamer That makes more sense. I mistook "active daily players" for concurrent players. Thanks for clarifying. The bot problem still sucks though lmao.
