I can see you transitioning away from the van and living in a cottage/cabin, maybe off grid. Using the van for adventures, but having a home base. Hope you return home for the holidays. Stay safe!
@@user70331 good for you, but I like having my own comfy bed, toilet, and tiny kitchen, big enough to make some meals, even when we’re traveling. Getting a good night sleep makes me a much happier camper 🥰
this young lady has such a talent and so much love for nature. Her art needs to be in a place so everyone can see it . I follow her adventures around the country and also the world drawing all the time She is a beautiful woman with a super big heart
Ellie and you are absolutely made for each other, you can see the twinkle in Ellies eyes when she looks at you. Hope she stays permanently and you have many exciting adventures in the van.
I just switched to a Wave 3 for my van-doesn’t draw any battery power! Radiant heat and heats the van perfectly! Can leave on low all night too! I mounted on the wall (two cat 🐱 🐱 van here:)) so no risk of them knocking it over-or getting burned as it isn’t flaming hot to the touch;0. I think you already use propane for cooking? I got a 20lb tank so that should last for the winter!
A tip for keeping warm without using power - a hot water bottle. Sticking a hit water bottle in the bed in winter or just having it in your lap is so helpful.
You two are very suited; I particularly like that you make decisions together. You're calmer, too. You seem to work better when together. I want you to promise to stay safe for winter. 🤗 And enjoy nature up in the mountains. Much love to you both, Wendi 🌻
Very wise words, Elli. Growth does begin outside one's comfort zone. I enjoyed this video so much, Maddie. You showed us first the inconveniences of living in a van followed by why you continue to do this: being able to hike that beautiful trail with gorgeous mountains and the Bridal Veil Falls. Amazing! Hugs to you, Elli, Eliza, and sweet Rudy!
I live in Ireland where we have very little sun in winter so I use an renogy dc to dc charger that charges my leisure battery in my van as I drive. Only takes minutes to install.
Hey Maddie, I hope you're warm and dry! I strongly recommend you get a DC to DC charger. They are easy to install and make the world of difference when solar isn't cutting it, I've got mine setup so that it can only run when the van is running but it's also still on a manual switch so I only use it a few times a week to top up when the sun isn't playing ball. I'm a very budget traveller but even for me they're well worth the money!
Hi Elli. Greetings from Spokane. I think the world, mostly first world, would benefit from living in a van, for a few weeks. We don't concern ourselves with how wasteful we are.
You and Ellie make a great team! I know you like solitude occasionally but my mother’s heart is happy when you are caravaning or with a friend! 🤷🏻♀️ The falls are wonderful! ❤️
The moss and mushrooms on those trees…… beautiful….. That music you played in the clip with the Bridal vail falls is amazing. Maddie, I think you should consider getting a diesel heater in your van. We ran ours non stop for 5 days a few weeks ago, and it used less than 1/4 of our tank
Good time with your pup and friends. You all three look happy and healthy as you navigate battery life, food, laundry, and fun. Sounds like your dream came true and is complete.
I live in a small town (12,000 inhabitants) in Germany, in a two-room apartment that I rent. I have to pay very close attention to how much cold or hot water I use, how many degrees I heat the apartment to, or how much electricity I use. Energy prices have skyrocketed and I'm lucky that my landlord is reasonable and didn't raise the rent significantly when I rented from him.
If that's the Herkimer on Greenwood then I literally lived half a mile from there many years ago before I moved back to NYC. Fantastic area, so much to do and see nearby and convenient to so many great places, like around 500 parks, water, shops, etc. I hope you had a great time there. I really miss it.
So glad you guys are doing well together! I so relate to what you were saying about a home - I make TH-cam videos in a similar spirit as you and after traveling full time for over a year, just bought a little caravan that I'm renovating. Even though I feel the exact same way as you about road life lifestyle... it has been such a lovely adjustment to have more space and certain things like electricity and a stove!! Sending love from my little corner of the world to yours and Ellie's! 💛💛💛
You two seem to be working well together. Nice to change your mobile routine occasionally, especially to perform significant maintenance and cleaning. Thanks for sharing.
House sitting seems like a great break every so often. I have a beautiful van and I love it. Wishing I could live in it FT but I also love my condo. It feels so good to come too.
Cities everywhere are never pleasant with a lot of crazy people around. Being out in the countryside is always a great thing to enjoy. Hope you two stay warm, safe, and dry for this winter.
Nice that you two had a little house time! Love the video of the falls. Where did you pick up the extra dog...or did I miss something?? Stay safe! Enjoy!
I thought about van or bus life. You def win for the freedom. I went truck and trailer cuz I wanted to separate the power from the house. But it cost me some freedom. You can go many places I can't.
I just found your channel yesterday sooo I'm pretty sure I'll be binging your videos now. I love your style of videos! Definitely a good fit. As one who lives close ish to the falls you explored, I'm embarrassed up say I haven't explored them yet. They're so beautiful so thank your for the motivation to get out there and check them out! There was a forest fire in that area a year 1/2 ago, but more on the other side of the highway going up into the mountains. I hope you can get to a warmer area soon! Leavenworth is beautiful in the snow, but in general WA shines in the late Spring and Summer.
Maddie, this may be yet another dumb question but, have you ever considered getting a small generator to charge the batteries when the sun doesn't cooperate? Just seems like a logical solution... Anyway, you girls are just full on silly. Your personalities work well together, and Elli seems to bring out the best in you. Y'all stay warm and safe! As always, BIG HUGS and much❤from Tennessee! 😁👍
Maddy always enjoy your video & love you ❤. Always wait when you realised new episode. Also this episode is really exciting but take care of your health in winter. ❤❤❤
You're in Sasquatch territory there. LOL Doesn't your VAN engine charge your battery system? Could install a dedicated Alternator that would keep you charged on these short winter days.
Phillip looks happy! Also, you will either be impressed that I remembered the name of your plant, or have no idea what I’m talking about, depending on the accuracy of my memory! Be safe!!
I once heard Bashar who is channeled by Daryl Anka make the comment that absolutely nothing in our lives holds any value whatsoever until we are selves attached one to it❤ having the freedom of a brand new Sprinter and a Sticks and Bricks that is going to be going up for rent also has its challenges❤ I'll be giving up the house but there's plenty of room on the 12 acres to come back and park my van alongside Paradise and go out and play in the National Forest that has surrounded me for the last 30 years❤ one of the reasons you feel more challenged in the daily tasks is because of the limited budget and the worry and the Wonder and the what ifs❤ the best video available about manifesting you'll find right here on TH-cam❤ it's 37 minutes long and the guy in the thumbnails got on a red Hawaiian shirt❤ Darryl Anka Bashar the formula❤
Shouldn't you have charged up your batteries while you were at the house, using an extension cord? Anyway, nice hike, and good to see you back on the road again.
SILLY GIRL... YA GOT OVER 120K SUBS. INVEST IN A COUPLE GIANT POWER BANKS. AT LEAST 2000-3OOO WATTS EACH. AND ADD ANOTHER 200AH BATTERY . YA NEED 3 SOURCES OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU LIVE IN YUR HOME. THAT TINY 600 WAYY POWERBANK IS ONLY FOR CHARGING A FONE OR LIGHTS. GOD BLESS....HAPPY HOLIDAYS❄🎄❄🎄

But in forks or crescent city
Yep, we have a van we use as our tiny vacation home on wheels, and we have our small house to come home too.
I am renting base, and use car for camping hobby, van not necessary for part time. More time outside 🙌

lol I just wrote the same thing
This, most definitely! Makes a ton of difference when you're winter traveling!
Yes! I follow a couple of youtubers with solar but no b2b backup. Solar is awesome but the b2b keeps us running when the sun doesn't cooperate.

My brain was hearing, "Bridle Vale Falls," and I'm like, "I still don't get it."
I think u do need a tiny home in the sticks ... keep the van that way u have 2 options... Love U Happy Holidays Maddie Safe Travels Always

You guys are badasses. I'll bet it's nice to get out of the van for a bit. In any case, thanks so much for the videos!
Question- why don’t you have a charger from the alternator to your battery bank? That would be a game changer for when you are driving…
Do you have a shore power plug? Those are really helpful to power and charge.
Maddy always enjoy your video & love you ❤. Always wait when you realised new episode. Also this episode is really exciting but take care of your health in winter. ❤❤❤
Love from Pakistan stay safe where ever you go

Could you ad another soler panel to charge faster just wondering
You're in Sasquatch territory there. LOL

Lots of love Maddie from India❤
Stay safe from the winter

Do you have an alternator charging? After installing alternator charger, my power anxiety has been resolved--PNW without alternator charging sucks.
Lots of love and big heart from nepal to adorable person 😍✌️✌️

8:43 why is water going backwards?
Mmm, crepes! Make mine spinach, pear and gorgonzola!
I think it’s time to feel a bit more grounded 😉
Hey Maddie, at the 8:44 mark water is flowing uphill? LOL
It's interesting seeing all that snow and the pile of clothes on y'all when I'm within an ongoing heatwave 💀💀😅

I can’t connect to shore power!
@@Maddie.taylor OMG! How is that even possible? Can you take your Jackery or whatever you have inside and charge it?
When did you get a second dog?
Maddie, do you not have a DC to DC charger?

We can go visit Mt. Ranier tourism area
