This journey is going to lead us deep into the frozen wastelands of Canada, the temperature during this exploration reached well below the freezing point. In this barren landscape far away from civilization the ward family used to live, it was a family of 3, Mister Ross, his wife Petra, and their loving daughter Diana. Mister Ross had a lifelong passion for clock making and the remains of his business are still present inside the house, he was a true craftsman and made numerous masterpieces from start to finish. Petra on the other hand was a housewife and cared for her family all her life. They were a postcard family, and it is to be seen throughout the house! It has been a long time since the house has been lived in, Diana her parents passed away around the turn of the millennium, and this left Diana alone who used to always live with her parents, after living here alone for around a decade her physical conditions was not well enough anymore to live in such a cold and remote part of Canada. At this point in time, she resides in a care home far away from the house and is unable to ever visit it again.
All their memories are locked inside, acting like a portal that will give us a glips into their former lives.

So glad the home has not been vandalized yet, i hope it sells soon and another family can make memories, wounder why the daughter hasnt taken care of her parents estate.
Best Urbex I ever saw
- only two messy rooms
- no water damage
- no vandalism
- one broken window
- large building
- insane stuff left behind
- great footage
- respectful urbexers
Cudos, great video !
I love this one! I think the console between the speakers in the living room was the record player! The lamp where you said it looks like a woman in prison was an oil lamp. Beads of oil dripped down those wires. Looked like it was raining! I used to have one! I totally enjoy watching your videos!
No it was where a Portable Cd player, VHS tapes and a few old magazines where kept, I think the record player was the cabinet underneath the record book
My parents had the same lamp that dripped the oil. I am in the USA.
@@caroleshay9153 my auntie and uncle use to have that lamp to and my sister and I could not wait to see what it was to touch it, hehe.X apparently they were taken out of production due to being a fire hazard and causing fires with the hot wax it was fascinating to watch them so really truly peaceful and really relaxing as well takes me right back...xx
Omg yes was going to write and saw your comment I’m almost 50 my gram had the same thing she died when I was 12 in the 80’s and she had the same kitchen chairs thanks for the memories guys
Sliding doors in bedrooms are closets and in kitchen is a light fixture in ceiling. Good show chaps.
I love this, I grew up this way.Our house is still standing,my dad built it.Its not abandoned though people bought it.It still had a mint green phone and kitchen, and our bathroom was a blue tub and toilet.Winters were cold and lots of snow.My dad ran a sawmill across the road. We also had a beautiful stone fireplace my dad built.
@Андрей Gluzh My parents passed away and it was in the will that the property be sold. I really wish I could still live there.
As you grew up "that way", could you advise where (the general area?) in (the middle of) Canada, this house is located in?
My question is if the daughter of the house is in a care home did she not have children??
How come its not been sold or passed down the family relatives 😢
Absolutely amazing filming Danny & lesley thank you for telling the story of the clock maker & his family.
I love Danny's reaction to the snow! The clock under a glass dome is referred to as an Anniversary Clock. Those toilet seats get cold, haha. The real reason the seat is covered is just decoration. The two of you work very well together and your video was pleasing to watch and the humor was great.
Yes for decoration 🇺🇸
2 người cùng quay làm ánh sáng lúc tối lúc sáng , coi hơi bị khó chịu .
That is quite a nice house. It would not take much to make it liveable. Hopefully, someone will buy it and make it a family home again.
You guys are so respectful of the homes and the people! Thank you.
I'm Canadian 🇨🇦! This place is in Ontario. Tons of amazing abandoned houses there.
This was filmed in winter, not summer. It's plus 30s now (Celsius). Winter gets cold in some parts but not all.
This is barely enough snow to put winter boots on....when it's over your knees, up to your butt, that is medium ..
Impressed that it's not vandalised and kept in tact. Deep snow not so deep, but tiring to walk in. Looks like soft snow, which is harder to tread...wearing sneakers?
I love this video. You did a great job… especially the snow part. Did you notice the silence in the field of snow? I love that experience… the sound of silence.
Those glass items your friend showed you.. those are called insulators. They capped the rods the wires were wrapped onto then stretched out to the next pole. LOL and the decade for the kitchen is early to mid 1980s... I grew up in a kitchen just like it The hanging miniature statue... that's a lamp!! An oil lamp. It would light up and oil would perpetually drip along the black strings around the statue. They were VERY polular in the late 1970 - 80s. LOL the carpet on the toilets... goodness... I laughed SO hard... those are simply lid covers . Made like carpet, yes, usually came in a 3-piece matching set. A cover for the tank lid, one for the seat lid and a rug that was cut to fit around the toilet base. For decoration. That vacuum cleaner is a Kuby, looks like a late 70s upright. I love the new filming style, showing each other, having fun. Awesome work Guys!
Hello how are you doing?
Yeah, about that oil lamp. I've seen a working one. Very cool.
The Kirby is mid to late 80’s
Yes, I was thinking the 1980's for the kitchen too. I remember those kitchen chandeliers, seems like all my friends parents had them in their kitchen.
@@allenvanes4683 I had a couple of Kirby vacuums in the early 90's and early 2000's, darn expensive but they done everything except wash my dishes. I had a paint sprayer attachment and sander attachment it was great.
Hello from New Mexico, USA! The hanging lamp in the living room with the woman in the middle is actually and oil lamp. My parents have the same one. When plugged in, drops of oil run down the strands that enclose the women. From back in the 70's. The covered toilets are a decor set that comes with the cover for the toilet, a rug for your feet and a throw rug.
I love watching your video especially if you are together... I mean with Danny...because you two are funny and able to share ideas along explorations ...and also Danny is a good man... you two are soft voice that's lovely .. I hope you always are together in explorations .. 💞 God bless always...
I only wish homes like this one would be found and resold or rewritten. It hurts my heart to see beautiful places like these to just whither away. 🙁
Thanks so much to you both for an amazing exploration!!! You and your team are all amazing, as well. I feel like I’m cheating when I watch anyone else’s exploration videos. 😀
Everyone else seems to be copying off of your channel, for one, and for two… nobody else does it like y’all do it. They are not so defined in their exploration, showing the viewers everything and every room like you guys do it.
I’m sure y’all made snow Angels again after all of the exploration fun. 💙❄️😀
Maybe "wither away"? - withering away places?
# withering away, in the oblivion of all and in the dusk, self-clouding places
Agreed, abandoned houses seem like a waste. They should be reused. 👍Bros of decay
@@SgttardNO ONE wants to live out there.
Amazing find. The tape player is called a "reel to reel" tape recorder. It used 7 inch reels. Excellent sound. Thoroughly enjoy the Bros of Decay!
I love watching you two so much and all the crazy things you do is so awesome. Watch out for that fibreglass insulation, it’s. super itchy. What an amazing house, very beautiful
Thanks for letting us “walk” in the snow with you! I’m older and can’t walk far! Just walking in the woods is delightful to me!
This is just what I need on a 40 degree day in England 🥵🥶 beautiful snow!
The dresser lamp is very Victorian, beautiful I love it...💜
That home gives off a warm feeling. Looks like it was a happy atmosphere with happy vibes. That’s a great home to be raised in. Good job guys .🍷🇺🇸
Same here I feels so much giggle watching this. Hi there how are you doing with your family i do hope you are safe from the Covid?
Those carpet toilet seat covers were common in the 1970s. Fairly popular in smaller bathrooms, for the ladies to have a (soft) seat while applying nail polish, makeup, etc., often with an adjustable mirror on the counter.
Omg that place is awesome and bright.
The dishes in the kitchen cupboard with the blue design are called Corningware and are vintage and quite collectible. There was even an older green design in the next cupboard. The painting in the bedroom is also typical of Canadian households. I can say that definitely because I live here and my grandparents had stuff like that.
I'm happy that you're going to so many places! Enjoy, yet take care. God bless you
The vacume cleaner is a Kirby. Very expensive and heavy vacume. But last many years and works very good. The toilet carpet as you call it. Is a toilet seat cover. Also come with Matching rugs and tank cover. Was a coming bathroom decor.
The toilet covers are to keep them kinda warm .... you can imagine how cold it was in the middle of the night or early mornings- great video- it's a shame this house is abandoned.....
14:06 an outhouse is an outdoor toilet
15:23 is a cuckoo clock. A bird pops out on the hour
19:04 looks like a reel to reel player.
55:12 back in the 60s Kirby vacuums were sold by door-to-door salesmen. We bought one. It had attachments for so many things! Not just vacuum parts
58:50 "dresser inside the closet" is how we say it 😊
1:11:03 you should have pushed back after you raised the feet. You would have been lying down on those recliners.
The frozen wasteland of Canada. Yep. That sums it up. But As I'm watching this on my deck it's 40 C in the shade. Love your channel!
Wasteland, made me laugh
The lamp @ 49:10 is an oil lamp. They were popular in the 1960s through 1970s. The woman is not in a cage -- those wires surrounding her dripped small droplets of oil that slowly rolled down into a reservoir at the bottom, then back up, again. They were also rather dangerous as they could catch on fire -- probably why they are no longer common. Also, the toilet seats have rugs/cushions on top because it was common for smokers to sit on the toilet and smoke, read, etc while not needing to use the toilet. PAM is a common vegetable oil spray that greases pans for cooking/baking. Its rather unhealthy compared to butter, but too many people still use it as its easer than greasing with butter.
Butter is always worth the little extra time. I would never use Pam, I use a well seasoned cast iron skillet, so things don’t stick anyway.🖤🇨🇦
I have the hanging lamp I think it's called a rain lamp
@@tamarrajames3590 I agree butter and bacon grease are much better the body recognizes it.
I've been looking far and wide for one of those oil lamps for years. I was always fascinated by the drops of oil on the strings!
I'm sure he could tell you stories about all of his projects. I appreciate the way you guys are interested yet respectful.
covered toilets were popular in the 60s & 70s. They were primarily decoration, to make the toilet look more presentable, but also provided comfort if you sat on the toilet to get dressed, trim your toenails, etc. We had them when I was growing up in the 70s
Lovely surprise Lesley you just popped up ,what a cosy home ,he loved his clocks didn’t he ,great find lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Leslie, the sombrero charro, you have it on backwards! And yeah, it’s beautiful, white and gold, it’s elegant! 1:04:51
I'm so happy to see that you are in my country, I'm in Quebec Canada. I think that Canada is a young country so not much Castle or Mansion any way you are welcomed.
We have some castles, and quite a number of mansions…just not as old as those in Europe. I think they will enjoy the differences, and maybe even visit some of our old abandoned towns from the settlement times.🖤🇨🇦
Being Canadian and watching these two talk about how “deep” the snow: priceless. 👌😂😂😂
Was just about to add that comment... lol...
LOL they haven't experience knee high deep snow 😂😂😂
I was laughing so hard at them thinking there was so much snow 😉 not even knee deep.
Yes hahaha I'm from MN I feel the same 🤣 snow becomes a blind spot when it's taller than your car!
I think in winter it is much higher snow. I live in Bavaria not far from the mountains. We also have sometimes more snow.
I'm delighting in the fact that you Lesley and ur friend are delighting over the 70's decor!! I absolutely love the alligator soap dish and peacock feather design wallpaper!! 😍 It's making me nostalgic for days gone by!!
Such lovely lads aren't they?same age as my boy xxx
millionaires house phillipines abandoned
That's called a rain lamp... The one with the statue... Hanging by the fire place... Oil drips down those wires... Looks awesome when lit... A very cool vintage lamp... But small compared to the one my granny had...
Welcome to Canada. Fun to watch someone's reaction to snow for the first time.
Incredible grandfather clock puzzle! WOW 😲
Danny, great guy!!! What a team, really!!!
Thank you so much 🙏❤️🥰

The silver machine with jars is watchmakers cleaning/sonic machine for soaking and drying parts, it adjatates the solution in the jars removing years & years of grime & oil build up.
Hey Lesley! I loved this surprise on Monday! I loved see Danny too! You are amazing together! This house is very cute! Congratulations !👏❤🇧🇷
Thank you! was a heartwarming visit to this place!
Hello Lesley and Danny! Probably she was go to vacation to Jalisco México because the sombrero is similar for The Mariachi grupo. 😊😉👍🤗💯
Love seeing Danny reaction to seeing snow for the first time.....too cute
Nice to see you in Canada! Hope we made you feel welcome and that you had a good time in our country.
As they break the law.
I'm happy you are in Canada!!! It's my homeland❤❤❤ that's not deep snow btw😂😂
I really enjoyed this house tour. The decorations that were there were from the 70's that must have been the last time it was decorated.
The glasses are fake stained glass made out of plastic, very popular in the late 60's, early 70's.
This reminds me of the snows we use to get in Virginia . I miss that.
I’m so glad you’s came in the winter and experienced the snow and cold ☃️❄️
Welcome to Canada!!! I was born and raised in this country and I love it very much. You are welcomed to return, anytime. ☮❤👌😊
LOVE both of your dialects, it's irresistibly cute! Anyway....that vacuum cleaner is not from the 1960's, it's from the mid-to late 1980's; the ones from the early to mid-1960's were tan color trim, and in the late 1960's, it was olive green and they were smaller. They have lifetime warranties, too, so....quite expensive, just like that Lincoln Continental (looks like a 2006 or newer) in the garage, but they're very high quality and will out-clean all other vacuums...it shampoos carpet, polishes floors, converts to a tank with a hose, etc., almost like a Transformer, lol. I used to be a Kirby sales/service technician, and they're still manufactured here in Ohio, but the new ones are very world class, almost robotic, they push and pull back by themselves; I have 3 myself. It is not unusual to see these vacuums still in daily use after 40+ years; they're damn near indestructible, built like a military tank. Great video, guys!
Between the two speakers in living room is probably a stereo/ record player. Very common in the 70s. The cabinet with lace on top. Top lifts up.
I have seen this beautiful house before. I really enjoyed your video version! It looks like such a warm, homey, well loved home.
Last time the power was still on and they were able to play some tapes on the TV. They were of the family and celebrations.
It looks like they could walk back in at any moment, smiles all around, and dinner being prepared and smelling fantastic.
Thank you for another great explore!
Yes I was going to write the same thing. I can’t remember the explorer who showed it though.
@@Sierrasky-y6h I believe it was Uncharted Travel is the one. Ethan Minnie also explored it, but I don't think he played the videos.
@@MKWhitney yes I think you’re right. Wonder if the power is still on 🤷🏻♀️
This house used to have happy people in it. They loved their home. Loved to hear your experience with snow. Snow is a wonderful gift . We all have the illusion that our things will last forever. That’s why we have to take care of our spiritual side. Be good to people. That’s what lasts. Love Brothers of Decay.
The clock you asked about at 15:20 is a Anniversary Clock. It was/is usually bought as a wedding gift. Couples could/can wind it each year on their wedding anniversary together. Because it was the first mechanical clock that didn't need daily winding. With the clock's slow torsion pendulum it only needed/needs to be wound once a year.
Lol, my mother had one of those 'nude statue' oil lamps! It was filled with mineral oil, and when turned on the light bulb would illuminate 'the scene' and once warmed up the mineral oil would flow down the the angled plastic 'bars' and would give the appearance of rainfall. VERY late 70s early 1980s.
Good to see Danny back! It’s great to see the reactions for North American styles you’re as fascinated as I am when watching all the places in Europe theres such a contrast in styles! Great video!
That fire detector is for people who may be hard of hearing or deaf it flashes so they are aware of smoke or fire.
We love you and Danny
.we appreciate your kindness and respect. Thank you
This is such a fun video, I enjoyed it so much! Lesley, you surprised and impressed my husband when you climbed up into the attic. He called it a "rat run" and said it was for easy access to wiring and other structural things, and he really enjoyed seeing the trusses and the way they were built, even though he was very disappointed that you didn't look closely to see if the builders had signed it or written something on the wood. I had to laugh at him, and I will tease him about it 😂Danny's reactions to everything are priceless. I just love how open you guys are. Thank you so much for this wonderful documentary about what was obviously a happy, warm little home. There were so many things I recognized, but what really stood out for me were the slides. My dad loved slides, he would get educational slide sets from the library in Rochester NY and every evening for a half hour before bedtime we would have a history lesson. You name it, we saw slides about it. Wonderful memories ❤️ thank you so much 😘😘
Beautiful home. Not liking the snow. I love cherry liquor and have that at my local cafe in Portugal. Thanks for showing this.
I believe it's an anniversary clock on the pool table. They were made to work for a year. Pam was used when you didn't want foods to stick to the pan when cooking. It also made for easier cleaning of the pan.
PAM is a vegetable oil cooking spray, introduced in 1959, by Arthur Meyerhoff. PAM = Product of Arthur Meyerhoff.
Yes, it's an anniversary clock.
@@OofusTwillip As I remember, Pam was introduced as a healthier and more convent way to keep things from sticking instead of lard.
@@shirleyshirley4188it’s funny that lard is actually far healthier than vegetable oil is… seeds oils are horrible for you. Animal fats are excellent.
I've been following Bros of Decay for 2 1/2 years and I just love your videos. I was intrigued when you started to explore America but now that you are in my homeland, Canada, I'm even more intrigued. I just loved this video and you captured the place really well. Can't wait to see more of your videos from Canada. Stay safe and well... dear bros.
Watching you guys in the snow is hilarious 😂
You can tell you're a young man that was a rain lamp they're about 50 minutes into the show. A lot of things you haven't seen or heard before the 90s. And that they are so common to me in my mid-60s, 40 years makes a difference! love your show, keep on rolling with your show! :)
I also want to add that I live in Canada and it's not a barren wasteland.....LOL. I'm in Victoria, B.C. and we hardly ever get much snow. I'm so excited that you finally came to my country. Come back in the summer....LOL.
No, not a barren wasteland--more like plenty of of untouched beautiful wilderness if anything. I live on the Island too. We definitely don't get enough snow here to keep our igloos standing lol.
Hey you two! You don't really look like you''re too well dressed for our cold Canadian winter. Just started to watch the video and you are already commenting about the snow and how deep it is. What you are walking through at the beginning of the video is nothing. At least, most Canadians would have that same sentiment. When you are exploring these remote and secluded areas in the future (here in Canada) a pair of snowshoes would be helpful. Love your enthusiasm and the storytelling about each home you explore. It really brings each home to life and the viewer actually feels like they've knew the inhabitants. Also, just wanted to say that I love the fact that you are very respectable of the owners and their belongings. I'm hooked on your videos so keep them coming. Great job boys!
You two are incredible together. I love now hearing and seeing Danny more! Your banter back and forth is the best! I also love how you acknowledge when Danny is shaking his head or rolling his eyes at you! The passion you two share on the explorations is contagious. You make us giggle when we clearly know what an item is and you....well....you don't. :) Your improvement with your videography skills over the years has been phenomenal to watch. Keep up the amazing work.
Ein Traumhaus. ❤ Danke für die schöne Aufnahme.
I love that you and Danny have joined forces. You make such a fun team. Since I live in northern Michigan I got a kick out of Danny getting so excited about seeing snow for the first time. I had to laugh out loud at you having such a serious conversation about bull fighting while wearing the sombrero! This was the most fun documentary you have done. Also, Happy belated birthday Leslie! Was it July 13? I can't wait till the next adventure.
Snow, that's not snow. It's just a light dusting. Wait til you have to climb through the snow up to your waist. Amazing house with lots of memories left behind. Some very collectible stuff in there.
Such an interesting cozy well preserved house! I love how so many things are disguised or hidden in there ;
You guys are great and amusing, as always! Lovely filming styles , passion and love for exploring! Thank you for this wonderful episode!!♥️
the statue hanging is an oil lamp, you turn it on and when it warms up oil runs down the strings. love the videos
Florida is known for alligators. Crocodiles has a longer not narrow snout. I wouldn’t want to be too close to either one, especially after living in Florida for 24 year.
It was good to see you two having fun in the snow.
It’s nice to see this house not destroyed by vandalism.
Leslie, you climbing in that attic space had me cracking up!!
i enjoy watching ur video from Parañaque City Philippines 🇵🇭
Hello Lesley and Danny. Congratulations on your collaborative efforts. What really impresses me the most about your work is the good intentioned way you film these precious memories. Your respect and protective nature always shines through. And that’s true for all of your bros and colleagues. Here’s to your joint efforts together. Each video brings me joy. And that sombrero looked like it was custom made for you Lesley. Thank you!!! 👊👊👊

Hi Danny and Lesley, I'm always looking forward to seeing your videos Lesley, the house is beautiful
I am in love with this house!!! The "Amish people" by the fireplace we're pilgrims, Amish decor doesn't have faces due to their beliefs of it being vane. Great find and I really enjoy your videos

At 19:00 It's called a Reel to Reel Tape recorder. At 51:20 There was a HAM radio on the top shelf in the closet!!
This place is wonderful and so much of their history. The cabinet between the speakers is a stereo cabinet. Really enjoyed this video. Love ya both
I thought so too, was yelling at em to open it
I'm surprised that they're using a fondue pot as an ashtray. 😆 It's quite common to see a toilet lid cover with tank top and matching bath mat. I had that in 1973 - all purple!
The cabinet with the coats, the door probably has a colored , what we Americans called plexi glass. It's really a very heavy plastic. They used it a lot in decor in the 1970's. The kitchen decor, wall paper and such is a 1970's thing. I grew up in the 70's. We had some of that in my mother's kitchen.
Love how 'Mrs. Ross" is such a good housekeeper. God bless her. Almost everything is spit spot, save that one storage room. Truly a time capsule. (And I bet that classic Kirby vacuum cleaner does work! My parents' is that old and still works better than my new one!)
Welcome to Canada gentlemen! ❤❤❤
Hey there would be nice to visit Canada someday. Hope you’re safe from the Covid?
I really like your accent. I enjoy how you talk about the properties and the owners, what the places were like, what happened to the residents, how they lived day to day. I can really tell how much you love what you do. You seem like a nice person.
Its a nice House. Does she not have any relatives that can take it over and save it from going into decay. Feels like she would be very sad if it did. Bless her soul.
Absolutely my opinion exactly ❤
I LOVE the music you choose to play in between the narrating!!
The fireplaces are beautiful as well as the rest of the house.
Sad and beautiful house love it, That One Lamp hanging on the corner of the wall where the chimney is at, it’s a Beautiful Oil Lamp that when you turn it on, it shows like it’s raining but it actually the Oil coming down the streams..
