Had major depressive disorder when my first child arrived. I thought i wasn't good enough. All children need is love, attention and care. Im sure Lele appreciates you for the person you are. It took me years to understand money does not bring happiness
Hey Sam love the straight up honesty, liver stagnation is the cause of Black Dog, think about it as you exercised you became cheery, the hardest problem is pushing oneself enough to break the cycle. Our worlds are full of stress and disappointment, but the battle creates the person, you have been given an Angel in Lele, she needs a real person not some rich dude, your love will just grow and grow. Ice baths are a fantastic thing to crank the liver up, give it a go if you can. You are actually a much happier man than most, but being young it is disappointing that most are glum, don't let the dark steal your light
First time I see a video of someone feeling down and actually acting upon it to make themselves feel better, most just play the victim… Thankful for your positivity and your videos kick arse mate ✊🏻
Hi Sam You are the most genuine youtuber in thailand, keep exercising it's the best remedy for depression. Love what your doing with lele it will all come good in the end. I wish you luck in everything you do.
Great video ! I think you are an inspiration to many. I had a wife that battled depression. All of the specialists she saw during treatment said exercise is an absolute must. Another key guidance was to never drink alcohol because it is a depressant. It is very common for depression to drink alcohol. You have a great head on your shoulders and an exemplary relationship. Always wish you the best
Keep it up Sam .your doing extra well. I realy admire your efforts. I’m retired kiwi living at Cosy beach. I’m very financial, so I have the very best of everything here.. amazing place to live.
I'm 35 years an entrepeneur so i can relate what you're situation is, but keep going strong, because there's no alternative. You can't go back to your home country. Keep making YT and be focus. Sometimes the YT isn't doing great, but that's all part of makeing YT. Focus and go dor it !!
"... there's no alternative. You can't go back to your home country." Why? There is usually always an alternative and you can go back to your home country.
I share your experiences my friend (also with medication etc) ❤ One thing I realised a couple of years ago is, when I stay in my western country lifestyle I almost can't breath. So much expectations and pressure from yourself and the enviroment around you just to fit in! But when staying in Asia, I have soo much more room to wiggle and navigate in my life. So even if you can't "cure" depression and anxiety no matter where you are in the world, at least you can stay in an enviroment that accepts a lifestyle with larger sense of freedom and margin to navigate in life.. That makes it much more easier to deal with the daily/weekly ups and downs..
Thanks for speaking openly, I know I still fight the dog on a daily basis and I know exercise is missing at the moment. My wife is also from Ubon and we made the decision to get her permanent residence in OZ so we now both work. Keep up the fight and stay strong
Hi Sam, firstly May I say great vlog. Have been a subscriber well before you moved to Thailand. I know likes and comments are good for the algorithm, so I have liked and writing a comment. These sort of vlogs are great low budget but full of content on many different levels. I am just finalising things here in the UK, to come to Thailand a bit like yourself. Hopefully end of June start of July will be in Pattaya for a couple of weeks whilst I look for a condo in Jomtien to live. Once over there would love to catch up for a coffee, beer, bite to eat etc. I believe it’s good to chat to people who are there and done it, experience is knowledge. Thanks Chris aged 49 from England.
Great video my man, really appreciated the honesty and so good to see your mood at the end after getting some of that stuff out and that pretty epic bike ride. You're one of the best men we've met in our travels and so glad we got to spend some quality time with you. Hope to see you again soon!
Not only will i say hello, but I'll give you a big hug if i ever see you. Watching you since australia. Love your journey. You are a genuinely good kind hearted person not just on camera, wishing you all the best now and in the future. ❤️
Thanks for sharing and being honest and quite raw with your feelings and your situation. Some horrible things have occurred to Lele and her family, I wish you well for your happiness in that beautiful country Thailand.
Good video man, these are my favorite types of videos, when someone just takes the camera around to run their daily errands or whatever they have planned for the day. No special camera angles or crazy amounts of editing needed! Also appreciate the honesty!
You are not alone Sam. There are many around to support you. I am led to believe that it is a sad statistic that we are all on a spectrum despite outward appearances. As as a now ex manager in the UK, my daily dealings with people bears this out. So... I have finally arrived in LOS full time and feel 200% already - and its not a week yet! Hope to bump into you again - and please keep going for everyone's sake.
Greeting Khun Sammy ! Been your fan since Adam’s vlogs ! Atho Ive been privileged to have been born here and grew up in oz , I’m worried about fella Ozzie starting their lives in Pattaya or Phuket ! Love yourself NUMBER 1 before you can help others ! Your background involved lots of psychological affected people , mine also ! Take good care of yourself, mental health issue has been here all along only people with kindness will try to help but to the extend that you are mentally strong and financially comfortable as costs of living has gone up & up! Keep on doing things that make you happy ! We are rooting for ya Sammy ❤
Sam, sounds like Thailand is changing you....and it sounds like that change is for the better. Selfless acts of love and kindness are NEVER the wrong play. Wishing you and Ms. L the best mate.
Happy to hear you being vulnerable and being you. You don’t need crazy videos man. Most people just wanna watch your videos cause it’s you. Save that for the 100k sub mark. With regard to depression and mood stabilizers I’ve been there, years and years of it. I’m 41 and now I’m not on anything. One thing I will recommend is testosterone is legal over the counter there. Every pharmacy has it. Get on testosterone and that alone will change your life. All the health benefits make you feel 15 again. It’s the best decision I ever made. All my friends I recommended the same thing. Most of them battled me and like “I don’t need that crap blah blah” and now that literally all my friends are taking it, they thank me all the time.
With the major depression I found that starting small goals every day helped. Fold my laundry today. If I didn’t have the willpower to do that, I would make the goal to match one pair of socks. As small as I needed it to be for me to complete it. After a few months, and the day I set the goal to be “get a membership at the gym again” I’ve never been better. I’m no doctor, but I care and I hope even some of this helps you bro.
I know the feeling Sam, just gotta try to stay positive and keep moving forward, technically I have less than two years to go, knowing the timeline is the worst thing, I wish I was never told
Dad didn’t tell me. Thank you for watching all the videos and being supportive of this thing since day dot. You’re a gem! Hopefully catch up at Christmas ❤
Nr. 1 Moodkiller: Alcohol... When I moved to Thailand in 2015 I thought I would feel more happy but I didn't... So I stopped drinking entirely and man has my life changed... only to recommend buddy!!!
You are an incredibly honest person and you back up the talk with the walk. And Sam, you're not alone on the mental health challenges. One beautiful day at a time is how I try to live my life. Not always easy. You and Lele are lucky to have each other. You make a great couple. The money will come if you follow your passion. Keep going brother.
Hang in there Sam, life is like a 110m hurdle race sometimes and you just have to keep plugging away at it. Keep doing what your doing and it will get better for sure.
One of the riskiest things your doing with depression is putting yourself out there and then subjecting yourself to some of the comments people might write , because a lot of times people write stuff they don’t really mean and you could take it the wrong way , take it for what it’s worth but im a real good judge of character and I can tell your a great guy, so if you ever come across any negative comments just ignore them and remember some people write comments with the sole purpose of entertaining other viewers without realizing they could be hurting the person they are writing about
It will work out Sam, I'm currently struggling with the dreaded black dog on my back and having terrible mornings but it will get better as it will for you, as for biting off more than you can chew some say take a big bite and chew like hell, love your videos mate
Life is about taking risks. You've taken a risk moving to Thailand and also a lot of weight on your shoulders with your partner regarding the financial aspect. Everything happens for a reason and everything works out in the end. What we worry about today, in a years time, we'd laugh at. You're a good guy Sam, all the best 👊
Mate, how spot on are you................. Ive got a story not so far from yours. I struggle with PTSD and also a physical condition that doesnt let me do much. Found a girl who looks after me better than anyone has before. struggle with HER needing to save face with everything, and everyone, and its the only thing we argue about. Stress I dont look forward to................................................ Anyway, KEEP SMILING 😊😊😊😊
Thanks for that, very brave of you. I have the same issues in the dark months in the UK. Why I go to Thailand 😊 October January March. One day I will retire to Thailand in 8 years. Walking/ reading helps me when not in Thailand. You can never beat the big D but you can manage it in my opinion. You have a great lady I think, hold her close to you. I am in Thailand next week for my 50th birthday. Would be great to meet up i am not good at the young modern stuff so not sure how we can make that happen with out thousands of your subs turning up. 😅
You’re a good one Sammy! Was good to meet you and have a few chats on Soi 7 last November. I’ll be back in October and November and probably December. Hope to see you when I’m back 🤛
Your videos are very inspiring and I enjoy the simple uncomplicated things in life. But life is not always that simple. Keep up the great work and keep it coming.
Gotta admit,i didnt watch the last video,as it didnt appeal, although im a regular viewer..but this was right up my street. Also fallen for a girl from Isaan, she stays home looking after 84yr old mom and 14yr old son, making ice coffee, and growing vegetables.Im 45 shes 40(just)..and im helping support too as shes poor. But you know what? Ive never had a girl love and support me anywhere near how she does.Just coming up to 2 years together in May.I work, and come home to her in Buriram twice a year in the village- and i wouldnt change a thing.Great vid mate.😎🙏👍
Great and honest video covering the stuggals of life depression and losses. Le le simes a great woman and Iam sure she is more then happy with you sam you give her more love then any rich man can give should me more woman like her.take it easy mate Your living a life i only wish i had
Hi Sam. Hope everything works out well soon. What's taking so long on the villa renovations? Don't you give them deadlines? Anyways keep up the good videos and hope to see you doing collabs with others like Chocolate Man in Thailand etc ... Don't see many videos from Keis thought lately. Cheers .
Would be good for us to have a chat with me Sam. Similar paths- but I’m plus 20 years . Here’s my suggestion for exercise. Buy yourself a road bike if you can, and go for a ride every morning at 7:00am. First for 10km, then 20, then before you know 50km is a piece of piss- and you will feel great all day. Great vid.
Yo from Melbourne here just heard about your depression, my experience and opinion get off the veggies asap and the carbs and just eat meat salt and water 2 weeks you'll a difference longer it will blow your mind ...time to do you bud look after number 1.
I also suffer from the same, but I will always have a plan B to get out of it. If you and Thai don't click 100000%, then move on. There are so many out there who are more flexible. I know you love your girl, and I wish you nothing but good luck.
Mate I hear your story and I’m certainly not going to give you the answer because I don’t know. All I can say is most of us battle on a day to day basis. Keep heading forward buddy. Cheers
Marry a thai ya marry the family, been married to Ubon girl for 20yr, lots of family dramas but would never have it any other way Hang in there bud your doing great 🇦🇺🇹🇭
Hi Sam, Glad to see your smiling face life it’s hard sometimes moving to another country is stressful enough but having to look out and responsible for other people is very difficult. Keep up the exercise that’s No 1 and eat healthy food also it’s good to spend some time on your own. Enjoy your surroundings i can never understand Farang who can’t be even bothered to return a smile or a hello I think there just miserable people. I hope to catch up in June with you and LeLe Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul
Sam, your courage in sharing your journey with mental health and the challenges you face is incredibly impactful and I fully understand your journey in many ways. It’s clear how much you care for Lily, and your proactive steps to manage your well-being are important to stay on top of. You're making a big difference, not just in your own life but in the lives of your viewers too. Remember to look after yourself as you navigate these challenges by working together with Lily. I’m about to work on a project to help my wife’s family earn more income in Isaan and happy to share. The goals being to take pressure off my wife
@@GoneAdrift We are just 20 mins drive from Sisaket. I will be here another 1 month until I head back to Australia for 3 months and back again. Are your ever near this area when doing border runs?
Thx for sharing. One has to be brave to do that. Maybe I will bump into you on my next trip. Sadly my Thai wife has made some economic mistakes to put it out gently and we had to sell our condo.
Hey Sam, you're a brave man & a good dude. A lot of guys would not take on that responsibility, but you have. Lele is better off with you than some rich guy who is only there temporarily. Excercise is important too. I don't like my routine here in Sydney. Work in a stupid office Monday to Friday, spend half the weekend doing housework, with very little time to spend on health & fittness. When I am in Thailand, I can keep fit & healthy, & enjoy the great lifestyle there. The plan is to move there, or possibly the Philippines, which is also nice, in 12-18 months. But Jomtien/Pratumnak are certainly top of the list!
Love your honesty, great video. As long as you and your gf support each other and you both have the same goals you will be ok. Good luck for your future buddy🙏🇦🇺 I shit you not, I know what you are feeling. Keep positive numb nuts 🤟🤟🇦🇺🇦🇺
Keep your chin up mate.. The 2 of you getting through the challenges together will make you stronger. As for dealing with the Black dog you are not alone there & already know the best ways to deal with it. Exercise, talk to a friend & getting out in the sun light.😉 Are you still working a night or 2 at Lupa?
Well it at least seemed like your day got better. No idea if it helps but I'll try to let all the ads run and what about if I just auto play all the videos from start to finish?
Honest video mate. So long as you have a financial plan and can survive successfully in Pattaya you will be fine. Would be interesting to see how an expat can earn a legal income these days. Your story and Lei Lei’s is familiar and common in Thailand. Put your seat a bit higher in the bike and keep up the exercise😅
You are a good dude Sammy and are doing well. Thailand can be a tough place to live and facing upto your problems like you are honestly and knowing what they is a good start to getting onto the right path. A Thai GF usually does mean supporting a family, and gets expensive unless you are well off to start-i experienced the same problem. I know you worked in hospitality and i'm guessing with depression, anxiety etc it's a tough job to do in Patts. Have you considered getting your TEFL and teaching a bit?, your vocab and speech is good and the pay can be reasonable to good in THL. I hope things work out and good things happen to you daily.
G'day Sammie, I'm Zak from South Australia. I've watched your videos since you started and I'm a subscriber. I found you through Keis and I love the contrast in personalities between the both of you and thus your content. . I really liked your initial series on moving from Sydney. I've revisited those videos often as they inspire me to get through the grind I'm on now until I can move over to Thailand in a few years time. You've come so far just from going back and watching those first few videos. I know you will also make it on TH-cam eventually. You're on that grind stage now. Just keep pumping out the videos like Keis done and you'll gradually build up the followers and income. People want to support a good bloke and that's what you are. Your sincerity and good heart shine through each video. People are taking notice and your financial concerns will ease with time. You came to a brand new country on a whim and you're still there. It's awesome! You're killing it brother. Keep your head up. The black dog is a cunt but as you know, exercise is the best. Lifting weights truly changed my life. I would definitely recommend it along with cardio. The first three weeks are the hardest to build an exercise routine. I wish you all the best mate. Keep going, don't stop now!
Yeh Sammy exercise and sunshine is great for depression. Fasting is also good for the mind. Have you ever heard about using psychedelics for depression? Check out the John Hopkins study on psychedelics for depression, ptsd and addictions, it's pretty amazing mate😮
Hi bud.sounds like financial pressures can be overwhelming here especially with a partner who doesn't have alot money.maybe solution go back to aussie land & work & get some money behind u & come back & get the place rented out.just a suggestion.every door closes another opens.dont give up & keep exercise & not drink much.good luck.keep it rollin ❤
I know you're frustration all to well brother. I'll spend 10 - 40 hours researching, then writing a Fictional, or Journalistic story, only to have maybe 7 people like and or comment :( but when I just sit down and spill my guts (like 20 minutes of writing) then I'll get 20-100 engagements !!! For me, I try to remember that I write because it is my passion, but it is hard to be motivated when you don't get the public's validation. I end each piece that I publish with this... Embrace the chaos as you walk your path... safe journey
Ive never suffered from depression so im clueless about it .... but it must be awful feeling down constantly Surely medication isnt the only solution? I imagine the side effects are not good and would only compound your problems Is just talking to someone willing to listen, any help when you have an episode ?
You're a bloody good bloke, Sam! That we know for sure. Life has a lot of challenges and I know you'll overcome yours for both yourself and for Lele.
Hard times make great men. You are already a great man Sam and will continue to grow! I believe in you.
Had major depressive disorder when my first child arrived. I thought i wasn't good enough. All children need is love, attention and care. Im sure Lele appreciates you for the person you are. It took me years to understand money does not bring happiness
Hope you're doing well Sam. Hits me alot. But I do find the exercise definitely helps me keep that black dog away mate

Ive never had a girl love and support me anywhere near how she does.Just coming up to 2 years together in May.I work, and come home to her in Buriram twice a year in the village- and i wouldnt change a thing.Great vid mate.😎🙏👍
Don’t forget to look after NO1 bro and that’s YOU !
Remember that !
Don’t peak too early in your life 😉
Great videos mate, will be back in Pattaya for a few months at the end of the year. Hope I bump into you then 🍻
Sending love & good thoughts to you brother Stay strong
Great and honest video covering the stuggals of life depression and losses. Le le simes a great woman and Iam sure she is more then happy with you sam you give her more love then any rich man can give should me more woman like her.take it easy mate Your living a life i only wish i had
You´re doing good, Sam! 🙏Cheers from Cologne, Andy
Hi Sam. Hope everything works out well soon. What's taking so long on the villa renovations? Don't you give them deadlines? Anyways keep up the good videos and hope to see you doing collabs with others like Chocolate Man in Thailand etc ... Don't see many videos from Keis thought lately. Cheers .
Loved this vlog mate and the rawness 🤙
Would be good for us to have a chat with me Sam. Similar paths- but I’m plus 20 years . Here’s my suggestion for exercise. Buy yourself a road bike if you can, and go for a ride every morning at 7:00am. First for 10km, then 20, then before you know 50km is a piece of piss- and you will feel great all day.
Great vid.
Yo from Melbourne here just heard about your depression, my experience and opinion get off the veggies asap and the carbs and just eat meat salt and water 2 weeks you'll a difference longer it will blow your mind ...time to do you bud look after number 1.
great video
I also suffer from the same, but I will always have a plan B to get out of it. If you and Thai don't click 100000%, then move on. There are so many out there who are more flexible. I know you love your girl, and I wish you nothing but good luck.
Mate I hear your story and I’m certainly not going to give you the answer because I don’t know. All I can say is most of us battle on a day to day basis. Keep heading forward buddy. Cheers
Marry a thai ya marry the family, been married to Ubon girl for 20yr, lots of family dramas but would never have it any other way
Hang in there bud your doing great 🇦🇺🇹🇭
Cheers mate :)
what a legend !
I hope to catch up in June with you and LeLe
Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul
Sam, your courage in sharing your journey with mental health and the challenges you face is incredibly impactful and I fully understand your journey in many ways. It’s clear how much you care for Lily, and your proactive steps to manage your well-being are important to stay on top of. You're making a big difference, not just in your own life but in the lives of your viewers too. Remember to look after yourself as you navigate these challenges by working together with Lily. I’m about to work on a project to help my wife’s family earn more income in Isaan and happy to share. The goals being to take pressure off my wife
Nice to connect with you matey. Where in Isaan are you guys at?
@@GoneAdrift We are just 20 mins drive from Sisaket. I will be here another 1 month until I head back to Australia for 3 months and back again. Are your ever near this area when doing border runs?
Thx for sharing. One has to be brave to do that. Maybe I will bump into you on my next trip. Sadly my Thai wife has made some economic mistakes to put it out gently and we had to sell our condo.
So thoughtful Hang in there. The exercise will help. Your last vlog seems to be doing ok.
I often run at sunrise here in Jomtein and there’s always people jogging as well, especially because of the heat we’ve had recently!
I agree, the exercise isn't easy that it's well worth it.😊
Hey Sam, you're a brave man & a good dude.
Hahaha I call Lele numb nuts too! Thank you bro
Keep up your Amazing work!! You are a real talented dude with real problem.. on youtube❤️, sometimes the simple things are the best🏅👌
Depression is king in Australia thats why we drink so much beer bro or we go to Thailand if the beer gets too expensive (or if its my shout)
Bahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂 King of Comments 🤴
Thanks!
Thank you soo much brother 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Keep on crushing ❤
I hope things work out and good things happen to you daily.
good onya mate, Cheers
🙂
WHAT A LEGEND!!!
I really appreciate your words mate :)
Good message Chad but please keep the C word out of it. Women and teenagers also watch this video.😊
Sometimes simple is better.
Thanks KIR!
Thanks
Bro! Thank you soooo so much
@@GoneAdrift you’re welcome mate 😄
You are a good person Sam❤
Thank you Maeeee
Good job mate. How are you making a crust these days in Pattaya, aside from TH-cam?
Just this brother and doing some creative video projects for a few small businesses intermittently :)
👍👍
Gd on ya mate keep doing what you do. love the channel chok dee kap
Good vid. Keep grinding.
Mate, thank you so much!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Keep your chin up
Ive never suffered from depression so im clueless about it .... but it must be awful feeling down constantly
Surely medication isnt the only solution?
I imagine the side effects are not good and would only compound your problems
Is just talking to someone willing to listen, any help when you have an episode ?
You could be back in Oz, or even worse, in dystopian UK - now that would be depressing.
