There's a difference between Gods and whatever that Chaos things that call themselves "gods". Bleh. We - the Not Egyptians - can tell the difference. Can you?
To be fair, the priests went over the actual benefits of a stunt like that, which doesn't happen with Chaos.
from what I heard it was less "sacrifice them to me and you'll get something in return" and more "I have sacrificed my children, now make the rivers flow"
See, Ptra never demanded Settras servitude. Ptra simply proposed a mutually beneficial trade.
There are two kinds of egomaniacs: the kind that everyone rightfully hates for an overblown ego, and the kind that EARNED the right to that ego. Settra makes the second kind look like the first kind.
The Awesome Ego trope is one of the best.

Fun fact: There's a chance that "Settrus" from Age of Sigmar might not be not Settra, as when somebody (I think it *MIGHT* have been Arkhan) fought against Settrus, he said something along the lines of "If you were truly the king who's name you have taken, I would not still be standing."

Honestly, if Settra put on the One Ring of Sauron or one of the 9 rings of Men, it would have done nothing. Or at least he would throw it away upon learning something or someone was trying to control him. And then hunt down Sauron for having the audacity to try and make Settra his pawn because Settra does not serve, Settra Rules.

Step aside Tolkien, there’s a new king of the land. And he’s making all your ruler characters look pathetic by simply existing.
Honestly, PancreasNoWork is completely right. The tomb kings as characters are all more successful and competent as characters than any of the elves, wizards, and Ainur/Gods ever were.

...It's just as Pancreas said, consider that someone like Settra would not have ever allowed things to get to that point in the first place. He would *Intervene* and solve the problem before at became a problem.

First comment in my catchup from return from Holiday hell without damn TH-cam!! Okay, yes... Archaon got kicked in the balls by an Ork and GW retconned it. BUT! He's still far better than Abaddon, at least Archaon has a character journey!! Abaddon is destined and gets all the toys from pimp daddies, while Archaon was destined but the way Dark Fantasy works is that he had to quest and struggle for his position. That makes him trump Abaddon.
4 literal gods are scared of one skilley boy, I find that hilarious and hes equal to God's which is hilarious in the last part, it's kind of funny, literally, making them Look Like garbage and Scared of SKELETONS because they can't bloody kill.
