I see you practicing those blasts. Derek Roddy really left his mark. It's good to see accomplished players still seeking advancement. It's encouraging as hell.

@hom3r0824 I hear what sounds like a double bass - but when the camera panned to his pedal there's only 1!! It looked like he was using "heel/toe" technique..
Never thought I'd see the day Thomas Pridgen uses double bass... D: But hearing him play blast beats, I think it'd be really cool to hear him play in some death metal haha
i dont think its double pedal and he really got to work on those unison blasts after meeting up with derek roddy during the presentation of the DW Performance serie video clip
His ghost notes are completely insane!! Hand speed and technique for days..... Between that and his ridiculously fast foot, there's no need for a double pedal..
@hom3r0824 or he just started using double bass pedal and he's just practicing with/getting used to it (Even though he still sounds flawless in this video)... Still an amazing drummer regardless.
I actually think they're 18"s, and something off the Z line. It's got strange hammering, though. Different from the spiral hammering on most Z's. Huge hihats, though. Dang...
keep pushing that metal tool for the box..work your quads - 2 on the hand 2 on the feet for however long you can at a time as fast a u can build it up, the rest will come together i promise

@hom3r0824 he was still on his backbeat but kick was sixteenth for while then he switch to group 5 notes and 7 notes in a beat. That is call polyrhythm, bro. you should learn more about music and dont judge other peoples random like that.
@funkeemon I should learn more about music while your defining the definition of groove with numbers and rhythmic notation ..... Groove is defined by feeling and danceability. My comment is based on Pridgens ability to make these crazy rhythms groove in bands like the Memorials and Mars. But I personally stop feeling that groove when a double bass is used to go beyond the speed of a single bass. I think its because the beat loses its a definition within the music for me.
Runs of 32nds and 16ths haven't given double bass a bad name, it's the idiot drummers who make a feeble attempt at playing those simple patterns that have given it a bad name.
This made me love the art of drumming even more. Thomas is a master.

Derek Roddy isn’t the only drummer in the world that plays blast beats lol
@@ericmsandoval Yeah. I didn’t say he was. I was referring to a specific situation where they were together. Have a nice day.

The best sounding kick on the planet man! And everything else!🤩❤
this is legit the most amazing snare sound!
The best part, in my opinion, was that groove he had going with the cowbells towards the beginning. That was sick.
this man is ridiculous lol he has a groove noone understands lol one of the most talented and original drummers ever
that stack sounds amazing! also props on the blasts and double bass :)
Dope! Very different style from every body else
Those cowbells sounds so good together!!
such a beast of a drummer. and an even chiller dude, got to chill with him about a month ago.
I am a guitarist but ,when I see you play, I got inspired, man. Beacause, you are very exciting drummer and very talented.

@hom3r0824 I hear what sounds like a double bass - but when the camera panned to his pedal there's only 1!! It looked like he was using "heel/toe" technique..
The drumkit has two bass drums, and what you were looking for were double pedals on a single bass drum.
anyone notice the eye where he strikes the snare lmao he must be a government secret agent and big brother is watching lol
SO HILAROUS HAHAAA !!!
Finally convinced that Thomas smokes gunpowder cos his fire is dawn crazy🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!
So goood!!!!
What's happening with the Memorials now days?
Never thought I'd see the day Thomas Pridgen uses double bass... D: But hearing him play blast beats, I think it'd be really cool to hear him play in some death metal haha

I actually think they're 18"s, and something off the Z line. It's got strange hammering, though. Different from the spiral hammering on most Z's. Huge hihats, though. Dang...
@hom3r0824 What about Virgil Donati? I think he's one of many that actually make it work.
Duck yeah blast beats
@100RoundDrums the set up is too sick

83,598 views in 12 years. The world is doomed! :(
@hom3r0824 He's never had pocket anyway.
What's the size of his hi-hats?? Those shits are huge!
0:02 . . . PRAISE BREAK!!!!!
So true.
Even Pridgen loses his groove with double pedal.
This proves my theory that double bass is pure evil.
CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW RECORD TO DROP!!!!! JUNE 5TH GO OUT AND GET IT BITCHES!!!!!
keep pushing that metal tool for the box..work your quads - 2 on the hand 2 on the feet for however long you can at a time as fast a u can build it up, the rest will come together i promise
I dare someone to program this :p
groove at 8:11 is sooo nasty!!!
THOMAS PRIDGEN ? :D:D ...
@jizz1255 crashes as hi-hats lol

I like the part from 2:44 to like 2:54, crazy fast
@kevingoren LOL i wanna hear that
HAHA hell yeah man!

Thomas, learning double bass is a slow process..

@hom3r0824 It's just for you then you should not put random common, bro. Thomas is a pro. who are you to judge him ?
